Franco was great and stayed 3 months with us. He really connected with the dogs which showed by them wholeheartedly loving him. They still miss him ! Franco is very adaptable and it was a pleasure to converse with him on a lot of different subjects. He helped me a lot and even suggested ways to improve the house which are now essentials. I wish him the best in his next adventures :)

What a brave woman! Jenny is very nice company to have around, full of stories of her multiple journeys to different parts of the world (she is very talkative and speaks Spanish very well ☺️) The time she spent with us passed flying. One more volunteer became a friend.

It was truly a pleasure having you with us. You were always responsible, and quick to learn and your help with the share of the place, chickens, garden, and olive harvest made a real difference. We deeply appreciated the care and positivity you brought to every task. You added such wonderful energy to our farm. Wishing you all the best in your future adventures ✌️

I stayed spontaneously with Heather and Philip for a few days, and I can only say positive things about my experience! They are both such warm-hearted people, and I never felt like a stranger for even a second. Heather is an amazing cook — every meal was healthy, delicious, and made with love. She also has incredible expertise when it comes to gardening and plant care. Even though I was there for only a short time, I learned so many interesting things! Helping out in the garden was always fun, and we had great conversations while working. On my last day, she even showed me around the area and kindly helped me out when I had an issue with my next hostel booking. Philip is such a creative and ambitious person. During my stay, I had the chance to try out so many new things — laying concrete, repairing the chicken house, and more. The work was always meaningful and sometimes a bit challenging but in a really good way — never too much or too hard. Also he has some really crazy and funny story’s to tell, loved listening to that 😁! One real highlight was when they took me to Bowls! Both of them are so passionate about their hobby, and that energy is truly inspiring. I had never played before, but it was so much fun! Thank you both so much — I really hope our paths cross again someday! Laura

Jaz is an absolutely wonderful volunteer! She has great energy, positivity, and a strong sense of responsibility. She is reliable and always ready to help wherever needed - whether it was with daily tasks, interacting with guests, or keeping things organized around the hostel. Jaz has a friendly and easygoing personality that made her a pleasure to have around, and both the team and the guests really enjoyed her presence. We highly recommend Jaz to any future hosts - she’s hardworking, kind, and full of good vibes. We’d be happy to welcome her back anytime!

I had a wonderful stay at Roksana’s home! I truly enjoyed living in her beautiful and clean house. She offered me a bright and spacious room with a very comfortable sofa bed. We shared the kitchen and bathroom, and she kindly recommended nearby supermarkets as well as an amazing community dining hall with delicious and affordable meals—I already miss the food there. During the day, we greeted each other warmly, and Roksana often sent me great travel ideas and local recommendations. Some mornings, she invited me to join her for breakfast, and we had such pleasant conversations together. After finishing my daily tasks, I always had plenty of free time to explore Montreal. In the evenings, she invited me to watch Netflix with her and generously shared her food. My tasks were simple—mainly doing dishes and light household chores, which never took long. I also had several days off each week depending on the housework situation. Montreal is a wonderful city, and I’m very grateful that Roksana gave me the opportunity to get to know it slowly and peacefully. I’m already starting to miss everything about my stay. If I have the chance, I would love to come back. Thank you, Roksana! I wish you good health and all the best in life.

Madhura has created a place that just buzzes with good vibes! He’s warm, funny, and always ready to share his endless wisdom over a meal. Between the daily yoga sessions and the bursts of creative art projects, there’s never a dull moment here. I got to stretch not only my body but also my teaching skills — and yes, I’m super proud of my stone wall masterpiece! Shared meals turn into long, laughter-filled conversations where everyone feels like part of one big family

Brian has returned to work with us more than once us for Harvest time, and we are truly blessed with his help and presence! Not only is he super hard working and intuitive, he is both soaking up everything he can learn, and bringing with him all his valuable knowledge and experience to share, making for a wonderful exchange, and a great time! He has all our trust, and has become a great friend through the process.

Charlotte stayed with us for a little over two weeks, during which she took part in various farm activities: harvesting nuts and fruits, caring for animals, plant propagation, preparing meals and more. It was her first experience as a volunteer and also her first time in the Americas, and we truly appreciated that she chose our project as part of her journey. We enjoyed sharing time, space, and activities with her, and seeing her interest in learning about life in the countryside. Thank you, Charlotte, for your help and good energy. We wish you all the best in your upcoming travels and everything that lies ahead.

Having Luciano here was of great help and an interesting experience. He told us many things about his homeland and life, his search to retrieve his roots here in Puglia , his family and everyday life in Argentina. He creates a pleasant vibe, is always cheerful and welcoming. He is very practical and cooperative and at the same time rexpectful. He stayed longer than planned and thus gave us an extra gift. We shall be happy to see him again one day!

I stayed at the campsite for around 5 weeks through August and September and had a really awesome time. The site itself is in an amazing location, perched right on the edge of Oslo Fjord with great views up and down the Fjord, and just a 45 minute bus journey into Oslo. The camp itself is very homely and well maintained, with each volunteer getting their own private room/cabin, access to a full professional kitchen (+ food) for cooking, kayaks to use, nice spots to chill/read, a cosy room with projector to watch films, and plenty of space for some solitude. Tor and Ingrid are really great hosts, the ideal combination of being chilled but organised. Tor gave very clear instructions for the work tasks and was always on hand to help out and answer questions. He was also flexible with the working rota, happily swapping around shifts and allowed me extra time off to do a multi-day trip out to Bergen. I enjoyed the work which for the most part was cooking, with ~1 in every 5 shifts cleaning, and then some gardening/maintenance towards the end as it got quieter. The best thing about my time there was the people and social aspect. Having a group of 4-8 volunteers there at once was so great as we quickly bonded and as well as working together did lots of cooking together, movie nights, card games and trips out to Oslo and other places. Overall I would highly recommend this Workaway. Having had 10-15 other Workaway experiences I would rate it as the best I've done so far in terms of enjoyment, socialising, living comfort, and work organisation. A great experience - thank you Tor and Ingrid!

Oliver stayed at my house for just a few days, but it was enough time to share meals, activities, and lots of conversation. He was very interested in learning Italian, so I tried to help him improve. He helped me with several gardening tasks that are heavy for me. Good luck!

The host is Giaime who runs this farm , an olive grove he inherited from his family who no longer run the large orchards themselves. They still live in the house, but we never met them when I was at their place for a few weeks. Giaime actually lives in Genoa and was stil working for his PhD, as such he cannot spend a lot of time in the orchard and needs help maintaining and harvesting the olives during the season. The mansion is reasonably large with several spare rooms for seasonal workers to stay in and even a separate kitchen for preparing meals. The work is a bit heavier than what I was used to, but with a large group is still a lot fun. In total there were about 10 of us, so quite a lot. We had to get organised for both the work, food and showers. During our visit he had to return to his own place several times to arrange things working his other job. He always provided with clear instructions and enough food and basic ingredients. The summer I was there was very hot, luckily there is a pool which is shared the neighbour who helped us out sometimes when he was not there. When Giaime was around we visited the nearby town, had some beers together and visited some places and restaurants in the area. There is a town located nearby, but it still is a decent hike to get to the shops. Luckily there were three other groups of French, Danish and Dutch people staying at the farm; one of them had a car. The connection to the nearest city, Firenze is a short hike to the train station and about a 20 minute ride. In the other directions the trains go to Pisa and Lucca connecting you easily to an interesting places to visit. All in all a great experience, I learned a lot about olive trees and we had a great time with the other travellers.

Sandra & Vincent are a very nice couple who travel the world driving their JURTA. A traveling house. We spent some time together and it was very good. They helped me in many places around the house. They are very fast and consistent. I am very happy that we met. I highly recommend them to anyone who has problems with clutter on their property. David is a very nice young man who helped me with many things, but unfortunately he only stayed for a few days. Due to the bad weather, he needed a short break because he travels by bike. We have formed a lasting friendship and we stay in touch. I recommend him to all people of good will...

If you have reached here, read till end. This was my first international workaway, I have volunteered fairly in India. It was best to say the least. I cannot describe how beautiful Nisha, her husband Hemant and son Rukshan is. They are the kindest and most non corrupted people I know. They treated me like family or much more than that. Fed me the best food. I learned sooo much about Buddhism, life. humanity in the 11 days I spent there. You will be lucky enough to apply and be selected as a workaway here. In all my happiest and bad days, I will remember them till my last breathe. They have left an incredible impact on me. Nisha didn't make work feel like work, she is so kind and thankful to whatever little you contribute. I am a content creator and a travel enthusiast, Nisha and her husband made sure they make me visit all beautiful places for the child in me and the creator in me. They took me to Ella, Nuwar Elliya, Beruwala and so many times around the Bandarawela town. They picked me 4 am in morning and were so welcoming, from the first second I knew they are special. I was solo Indian girl 24 years old but felt as safe as home in there. They ensure every second that you are feeling right, feed you more than you can imagine, very healthy organic food. I discovered a new personality in 11 days, I love myself a little more, take better care of my body and mind. Experiences like these cannot be bought with money, you can only live if you take the chance. I thank my stars for making this happen. From bottom of my heart I thank you Nisha, Hemant and Rukshan. I miss daily conversations with Nisha in her kitchen and most beautiful garden. YOU HAVE TO BE CONVINCED TO APPLY FOR YOUR NEXT WORKAWAY HERE!

I had such an amazing time staying with Nimea and her family in Portugal. It was my first workaway and I felt so welcomed and looked after. The work we did felt very meaningful and I learned lots about permaculture and agroforestry. The location is so great, you are really close to the sea and the sunsets and stars are incredible! Thank you to Nimea and her family for welcoming me into your lives so generously :)
