Paola come back we miss your cooking :) Paola is the best cook ever:) making such homely food that made you feel warm inside- it was so great having such wonderful food made for us and really helped create a safe loving environment . Paola has a vast amount of experience in so many areas - that i would recommend her to all- as I'm sure i only saw a small amount of her talents. From cleaning, gardening, DIY and more Paola put her her all into all she did and it was such a pleasure to host her. Loved the talks at the table- very varied and what knowledge and understanding she has. Paola really is a hands on woman that seems to have no fear and would try her best at any thing. My seven weeks were amazing! The place has a really good energy, and everyone made me feel at home from day one. The work was clear and fair, and I always felt trusted and appreciated. I learned a lot, met great people, and even picked up some Turkish thanks to the team. Thank you for everything. I’m really grateful for the experience and would 100% recommend this place to other volunteers!

This was my first Workaway and I had a great time staying with Jone! She's a super friendly and kind person who made me feel very at home :)

Son unos herman@s muy respetuosos, amables y trabajadores. Los trabajos que hicimos no fueron muy pesados; por ejemplo, enterrar tubos debajo de la tierra, construir una casa para las gallinas y fumigar papas. Fue una grata compañía y les agradezco por todo. Como ellos mencionaron, tuvimos mucha suerte con el tiempo, pero los días que hizo buen tiempo, trabajamos y les intenté dar a conocer mi cantón.

This was our first Workaway experience with Anne, Andy, Mikko, and their pack. We stayed for two weeks and wished we could have stayed longer because they were so welcoming, kind, and caring. Communication was excellent, and expectations were clear. We loved playing with and feeding the dogs, watching the puppies grow, spending time with the family the first weekend, and playing with Mikko. We highly recommend this unforgettable experience with dogs and the Swedish countryside. We hope to see you again soon!

My heart and my soul are so full of love, that I feel like I could never stop being grateful for it. I found a family and a home, at a time when I thought it would never be possible. I found courage in myself again and so much inspiration from all the people I met here. People who wanted to share their passions and knowledge, just for the love of it and for the love of sharing and giving and letting themselves receive in exchange. Every single one of you shaped me and I will keep you in my heart forever. This project is so so important, that I wish that everybody that come by here brings everything they learn outside into the world so that it spreads everywhere, bringing love and joy to everyone they meet, inspiring them and giving back. That is what I will hold onto and what make me feel so excited about the future and my travels and all the people I will meet. Three months spent in simplicity, understanding what is really important in life: community, caring, connections, sharing, hugs and love and respect. It is really that easy. What else do you need other than your family, fresh fruit and the ocean? Maybe your sleeping bag too ;) Here I found real sisterhood and brotherhood, connections that my heart had wished for since a long time and I am so so so happy. I wish for everybody who will live this experience, to come with the most open heart and with listening ears and eyes always full of wonder, finding joy and love in everything. I wish you to give yourselves fully to it and to learn and to just be your true, unapologetic self without any fear. Let your walls break down and let all the light come in. It made me feel challenged, made me grow, taught me how to put my boundaries, but it also made me feel so much at peace, so serene and hopeful about everything that is about to come and about myself and my true values, abilities and strengths. Everyday that passed by, my light was shining brighter and brighter, thanks to you. Walter and Matteo, thank you so so so much, I feel so grateful for what you have created and for what you gave me, I am so happy I got to spend these months with you. You are between the kindest, most authentic and most loving human beings I have ever met, your hearts are so open that I know you can feel all the love I have for you. Had such an amazing time here.. The vibes at this place are truly something special relaxed, friendly, and full of good energy. Jay is honestly the best host ever he’s always there when you need something, super caring, and makes sure everyone feels comfortable. I’m so grateful for his kindness and for everything he does to make this place feel like home. During my stay i met some really amazing people and shared so many beautiful moments that I’ll never forget. It’s one of those places where you just feel good peaceful, happy, and connected. Thank you so much, Jay, for all your effort and your big heart. Wishing you nothing but the best in everything you do.. this place will always have a special spot in my heart. ❤️

I had a great experience at Andrea's place. He lives with his two sons in a beautiful place in the middle of the vineyards with a perfect view on Bologna surroundings. They all made me feel comfortable from day 1, and Andrea is easy to communicate with. I felt like at home. The tasks were quite simple : walking and feeding the dogs (and cats), do some cleaning and a bit of gardening. Overall I had a lot of free time to explore the beautiful surroundings : Ravenna, Ferrara, Modena... I would recommend to anyone !

Freya y Lionel son dos chicos muy tranquilos, respetuosos; ellos me ayudaron mucho en la construcción de un piso, en la agricultura, haciendo actividades como fumigar papas, poner abono orgánico a la hierba del cuy y sacar hierbas malas del cultivo de haba. De todo corazon gracias.

We had a wonderful stay with Sonia and François! From the very first day, we felt warmly welcomed and supported — they really helped us settle into our new Canadian life. Our work was mostly outdoor projects: renovating stairs, fixing up the chicken coop, painting, and general maintenance. The atmosphere was always relaxed and positive, and they trusted us with interesting, hands-on tasks. Even with their busy lives, Sonia and François always found time to share laughs, great talks, and amazing meals. Their kindness and generosity made us feel like part of the family. Thank you for all the wonderful moments we shared together. The warmth of your home gave us so much energy for the rest of our adventure. And of course, a big hug to Jasper — the sweetest companion! 🐾 We truly wish every Workawayer could meet hosts like them. Benjamin fue una persona muy amable, respetuosa, además muy trabajadora; nos ayudó en muchas cosas, pero como principal, a construir el piso de una casa. Por otra parte, nos compartió algunas gastronomías de su país y nosotros también. Recomiendo a Benjamin a todos; sé que les ayudará en muchas cosas.

I was lucky to spend a month here, in a beautiful part of Sri Lanka. The nature all around, plants, animals, and people; creates a peaceful atmosphere that helps you slow down and connect with yourself and others. It’s a place where sharing and community come naturally. Shamadi, along with everyone I met during my (too short!) stay, welcomed me with kindness and patience. They helped me understand how small, thoughtful actions can shape the culture of a place, and how the choices of one generation can guide the future of this incredible land. I met so many wonderful people who put their hearts into everything they did. They made me feel truly welcome and appreciated. Thank you—really, thank you! I hope life brings me back to those jungle-covered hills, to spend more nights in the “misty heaven” or camping by a fire near the Sinharaja Forest.

It’s hard to believe this was Chris’s first time spending such an extended period with a child—he’s a natural! Even when our little rascal was being his usual mischievous self, Chris was still able to keep a warm smile and engaged him in calm conversation. I truly appreciate his honesty and authenticity. When he’s tired, he says so; if he wants to go somewhere, he goes; if not, he doesn’t. There’s no pretending, which made everything so much more relaxed—we never had to wonder what he was really thinking. Chris was our very first male guest, and the memories he created have completely changed our perspective. I’m happy to host more men in the future(my husband says he’d happily welcome Chris back unlimited times!) I never imagined my son could form such a deep bond with a man—he usually prefers women—but this time, he followed Chris around like a little shadow all day. Once, when Chris stepped out of the car to grab food, my son thought he was leaving for good and burst into tears. That moment showed just how much Chris meant to him. Even our daughter Remi, who is extremely picky about people and rarely lets anyone hold her, willingly climbed into Chris’s arms —a huge sign of trust! Also, Chris installed the shelves we’d been meaning to put up for two years after moving in!!! Chris has an incredible eye for what needs doing. He quietly noticed and jumped in whenever help was needed: carrying heavy stuff to the car while i was still busy with the kids, holding the kids so I could catch a breath, turning down the music so I could take a phone call… small acts that made a huge difference. Thanks to Chris, my son discovered a passion for drawing—when Chris was around,he painted non-stop! And his very first football trial, Chris was right there encouraging and supporting him every step of the way. Not only did he complete it smoothly, but he fell in love with the sport and has decided to enroll long-term. Chris is the longest-staying traveler we’ve ever hosted, our first male guest, and the source of so many wonderful “firsts.” This experience was truly special because of him. We’ve already promised each other—we will meet again. Highly recommend Chris to any future host!

I can only write positive things about the two weeks I spent with Sue. She was incredibly helpful, she didn't cause any obstacles, neither my language skills nor my inexperience with the job. We communicated everything perfectly, there were no misunderstandings. It was very inspiring to be with her and I am very grateful for her for the trust and the opportunity. I am happy to have been with her on my first workaway trip, I highly recommend her to everyone!☺️

I had an absolutely wonderful time here! Crete is a great island, and they are perfectly nestled among the beautiful mountains, offering both peace and easy access to nature. Getting to the beach was very convenient – we often hitchhiked or Noufris kindly gave us a ride. There’s also a bus, but since everyone heading to the beach passes through them, it’s very easy to find a lift. Even in October, the weather was warm and perfect for swimming! I went on some truly amazing hikes on the weekends – a big thanks to Ioanna for all the wonderful recommendations! Noufris made sure we never lacked anything and bought all the ingredients for our meals, which made us feel completely cared for. We had many inspiring and interesting conversations with him and he also took us to local tavernas. One time he even took us to see how traditional grappa is made. Working in the workshop was an absolute joy. Noufris taught me so much and showed me different techniques patiently. I am very grateful for the trust he gave me – after a few demonstrations, I was allowed to work independently on many tasks, which was both exciting and motivating. I also had the chance to create my own pieces during my free time, which made the experience even more rewarding. We rented a car for a few days, which was perfect for exploring the surrounding area and discovering some more places further away. Overall, my time here was truly unforgettable. Noufris, Lotte and Eva welcomed me so warmly, and I can’t recommend this experience highly enough! Special thanks to Ioanna for the great communication :)

Imala is full of questions I couldn’t always answer—about my country, my culture, even the little details of daily life. Her endless curiosity pushed me to learn more about my own world, and I truly hope my children grow up with the same wide-eyed wonder she has for everything. She’s the ultimate cheerleader for my son. No matter how silly his jokes or random comments were, she’d laugh loud and wholeheartedly with him, lighting up his entire day and boosting his confidence . Imala is incredible with kids—she explains the wonders of the world, teaches kindness and life lessons, reads stories with voices and drama, and plays games like a pro. Sometimes I think that she’s too good for us! 🤣 When our son zones out into his own little world and doesn’t respond to her sharing something cool, I’d feel frustrated—but Imala? She stays patient, present, and genuinely engaged every single second. She’s deeply emotional in the best way. Before she left , we traced each other’s handprints as a keepsake. When my son drew them holding hands with hers, she teared up on the spot. 😆 That moment said everything. Imala is simply wonderful—a kind, thoughtful, joyful soul worth knowing. Any host would be lucky to welcome her. We already miss her and can’t wait to see her again!

I had the pleasure of spending a week at Nihat's place, a true paradise on earth, and I enjoyed every moment of the time there. Nihat made me feel right at home. He is a very warm and supportive person. From breakfast with a stunning view to wooden working on his house, to trips to beautiful beaches, and even an evening rave, we truly had it all. Thank you so much for the wonderful time, and I hope to see you again soon!

Franco was great and stayed 3 months with us. He really connected with the dogs which showed by them wholeheartedly loving him. They still miss him ! Franco is very adaptable and it was a pleasure to converse with him on a lot of different subjects. He helped me a lot and even suggested ways to improve the house which are now essentials. I wish him the best in his next adventures :)

What a brave woman! Jenny is very nice company to have around, full of stories of her multiple journeys to different parts of the world (she is very talkative and speaks Spanish very well ☺️) The time she spent with us passed flying. One more volunteer became a friend.
