I stayed with Stef for two weeks and had a really great time. I lost my suitcase on the way there, but Stef was super kind and accommodating about it. He really went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable and able to communicate any problems I might have had. He makes the best sourdough bread I’ve ever had. He even took the time to teach me how to make it, and I've done it a few times since coming back. The kids are really sweet, and Conan (the cat) is honestly the friendliest I’ve ever met. Pip (the dog) is shy but really lovely and very well-trained. Taking her on walks was very relaxing. The house, yurt, and garden are all peaceful and beautiful. It was the perfect place to reset and enjoy the work I was doing. I helped with weeding, repotting plants, fixing the waterproof roof on the yurt, cooking, and doing various tasks around the house. It was a great mix of things, and Stef was always there to offer guidance or help if I had any questions. If you're thinking about going, do it!

We had a great time with castor! He was a fantastic host and we felt very welcomed. We learnt so much about the history of Santa Anna from him and he also took us on a very informative tour of the town which we loved! He also took us to the Santa Anna volcano hike which was fantastic day, he had so much knowledge to share with us! Our stay was great and everyone we met were so welcoming. Our days were spent chatting with Karla, Sophia and Vlad who we built lovely friendships with whilst having the opportunity to teach them English. Castor also took us through a Spanish class which was we found really helpful. In the evenings we had a lot of fun with Castor showing us all the spots of town like a really nice pool bar along with a delicious Papusa cooking class with Maria! Castor also made us some fantastic dinners and we made him some of our favourite meals from home so it was a great experience of sharing cultures. Our time with Castor felt so rewarding and a great balance of activities and learning things from one another. Thank you Castor and Bush for welcoming us into your home it really was the highlight of our El Salvador trip!

I spent three weeks at the farm and it was a great experience. The family gave me a really warm welcome and are really passionate about tea. You have to pay 7 USD daily for food, which is fair, as even after three weeks, I wasn't much help as it takes time to learn the ropes. Nevertheless, the work, was very interesting, and it was more about sharing knowledge and cultural exchange than providing support. But Deepak and Kosila were nice and patient with me. They don't just grow tea on the farm; they also grow organic vegetables, which they serve for dinner and lunch. If you're looking for a farm stay where you can learn about tea manufacturing and Nepalese culture, then this is the right place to go.

Vera & Carla are an absolute pleasure to host. Both are mature, curious and helpful people - always quick to offer help and keep our communal areas clean and tidy after meals, which we really appreciate. Along with three other workawayers , Vera & Carla helped us get ready for our Marlborough Environmental Awards Field Day. Their attention to detail with weeding around new plantings & nursery plants, planting & propagation in the nursery was fantastic and very appeciated. Vera & Carla enjoyed exploring our eco-sanctuary and local sights after our daily work finished, as well as taking time to enjoy personal art marking, they are both very talented with drawing. We wish you very well with the rest of the travels, and thank you for your positive attitude and all the work you did here. In appreciation, Nige & Mish

I spend two weeks with Mary Ann and Jack and I appreciated my Workaway and share precious time with both of them. Mary Ann and Jack are so nice, calm and benevolent people. During these two weeks I learnt many about plants and flowers. With Mary Ann, we cooked together while listening podcast and her playlist music (so nice). With Jack we talked about books and newspaper, very interesting. I would like to thank you for this beautiful encounter and I wish you the best

I did my first Workaway with Wendy and Dan, and it’s was a very amazing experience. I couldn’t imagine better. They are a nice couple who loved speaking and share their own and many travels. During these 2 weeks I helped them with gardening, cutting wood and cooking. they took the time to show me the different beaches of Powell river, and introduced me to their friends Thanks a lot for your hospitality and welcome. Merci beaucoup !

Otis and Jessica were amazing hosts! They were very quick to respond, easy to communicate with, and made our experience on their farm truly unforgettable. The farm and surrounding area are absolutely stunning, with plenty to offer if you love outdoor activities. The place has a warm, homey feeling that makes you feel comfortable right away. Both Otis and Jessica are wonderful to talk to and great to work with. They’re easygoing when it comes to farm tasks and always helpful—especially if you don’t fully understand a project. Otis even helped me fix my taillight, which was really nice. If you love animals, they have three adorable dogs and are planning to add cows to the farm soon. We’re also from the U.S., so there wasn’t much of a cultural difference, and we had our own cozy space to stay in. Overall, it was such a wonderful experience staying out in the countryside. I can’t recommend them enough and would love to visit again!

Nanou stayed with me for around 4 weeks. And I can highly recommend her to any other host. She really help a lot much more than she has been ask for. She is a really good cook and sees if things are needed to be done around the house and does them. She also help a lot with construction work were she always did a good job seems like she does have good experience with that. She is reliable and relaxed and always welcome to come back.

Gabriel spent 12 days with us and during that time, he was incredibly helpful with various tasks in the garden. Among other things, we undertook numerous activities to improve the riverbank. Gabriel is eager to learn all there is to know about garden maintenance. He learns quickly and takes initiative, even when we're not around. Our conversations during breaks and meals were always enjoyable. In his free time, he would explore the surroundings by bike or train. He is a polite and sociable person.

We had a really lovely time staying with Kouichisan and Harukasan. They made us feel really at home, explained many sides of Japanese culture to us and cooked great food 😊. We recommend the Workaway to anyone that isn't afraid of hard work and wants to get to know the more rural parts of Japan better. Stunning countryside all around!

I spent 5 amazing weeks at Nicky and Colin’s place and I so wish it had been longer! It was my first ever Workaway and they did everything to make me feel at home. The accommodation was cozy, spacious and had everything I could possibly need, surrounded by beautiful and peaceful nature. All the animals were incredibly sweet, I fell in love with them right away. Every day was a bit different, sometimes more, sometimes less demanding, but always manageable. Nicky gives clear instructions to all the tasks and is always willing to help:) The town Pinoso is only about a 25 minute bike ride away through stunning countryside, so getting whatever I needed was never a problem. Nicky is an amazing cook, she had no issue preparing vegetarian meals for me and I loved all our conversations over dinner. Even though I came alone, I never felt lonely. I’m really grateful for the time I got to spend with them - it’s one of those memories I’ll always cherish. I’ll miss them all so much but I’m sure this isn’t the last time we’ll see each other. I’d absolutely recommend Nicky and Colin to any Workawayers! With love, Gabi

Vera joined us for 2 weeks, settling in quickly to the house and routine. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Vera and hearing about her travels around the world, she is a very inspiring young woman. While Vera hadn’t worked in a garden before, she was willing to give any job, small or big a go - with a quick smile and curious nature Vera is a super person to host. From painting the floor of the hen house, to planting a spring wildflower garden, hedge cutting, to helping with the animals, and not forgetting the endless weeding of the drive!! thank you so much. It was a pleasure to host you.

Ludivine and Florine were a pleasure to have in our home as workaway They fitted in really well and undertook all tasks with no problem. Ninja and Nala the two new kittens were spoilt. We had lovely bread baked by Ludivine and baking and meals from Florine A good team together. Ludivine has good English and Florine was doing her best to learn and improved lots when here. Lots of jobs got done which I couldn’t reach on. We are sure wherever they go they will be a great help.

Lovely lovely lovely Adela came to our family for a month! She was great help to the boys during the girls of our house were doing their own work away in Spain. Happily we had an opportunity to have couple weeks together after our workaway and Adela became a sistersoul to me right away! We did lots of sports together, she was perfect helper in the house (independent, sharp, thorough, effective!) and always lovely company for us adults and the kids as well. The dogs LOVED her deeply and we didn't want to ever let her go! Adela fell in love with Finnish winter ice swimming ! Fun! We wish you great adventures and I'm positive to meet you soon again here in Finland or in Spain! We highly recommend her for all the hosts looking for any kind of help! This handy woman is a miracle maker:)
