Bonne continuation.

I really enjoyed spending a week helping Julien and Carole in their little paradise. From the very first moment, I felt welcome and at ease. The tasks were always clearly explained, and they always made sure to check if it was something I felt comfortable doing. I can definitely recommend this place to other Workawayers — don’t hesitate to get in touch with them!

Absolutely wonderful despite the fact it rained nearly everyday for 3 1/2 weeks. I was in the best of company. Ola, Jeremy, Austin and their sweet dog Ramson made us all feel like family. They have put a tremendous amount of sweat equity into restoring this absolute treasure of a historical building. Jeremy is such a pleasant , skilled, easy going man with an unmatched work ethic. Ola is so welcoming, insanely driven and organized , a super mom , host and business woman. They both have a heart of gold . I enjoyed helping them prepare the hostel for the tourist season and being a part of this amazing project. . They have created a very unique accomodation with a family like atmosphere. It was sad tp part and I am hoping to return on my next visit to New Zealand.

We stayed with Carolann and found the work very manageable and fair. However, we felt that we didn’t receive as much in return when it came to the variety and quantity of food. We sometimes had to ask several times to get a refill of our groceries. Also, there was only hot water for showers on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, which was a bit inconvenient and not communicated before the stay. In general, it was a fair experience, though we believe a few small changes could make it much better for future volunteers.

I stayed for a wonderful 3 weeks on Vero’s farm and had an amazing time getting to experience life in rural Spain with the beautiful horses and ponies. The area is so beautiful with lots of places to hike and although it’s quiet (which is nice), the nearby town and also Alicante is very accessible. I walked often to Muxtamel but I was also able to borrow the bicycle and cycle to some further villages. The work itself is not demanding, quite relaxed and offered me lots of opportunity for some quiet time to enjoy the place and animals. It’s really lovely to spend time with the animals and learn about them, especially with Vero who is so knowledgeable and passionate. It is so interesting to speak with her about her travels, the stories of her work and the passion she has for it. I was lucky enough to get to assist a couple times with activities she had with some young people and it was great to be exposed to this world and learn how it works. Vero was so generous and provided me food and anything else whenever I needed, spoiling me with fresh fish and vegetables and even some home cooked dishes! I’m so grateful for everything thank you Vero I wish you all the luck in the world!

I had an amazing two weeks here! Dawn is so kind and warm-hearted — she showed me around her beautiful garden, and we often picked fresh vegetables and cooked dinner with them, along with pork from their own farm. The vegetables were so fresh and delicious! Sometimes she also drove me into town in the afternoon and introduced me to her friends. Moz is an excellent hunter — he showed me the deer he had hunted, which was really incredible! He also has a great sense of humor and often made me laugh. I’m very grateful to both of them for treating me like family. Even though my English isn’t very good, they always spoke slowly and explained things so I could understand. During my stay, I got to see baby chicks hatch from their eggs, learned how to make natural hand cream from sheep oil, and watched Dawn’s amazing cooking skills — she truly is the best chef! There are also two lovely dogs and a cat in the house. I loved playing with them, and every morning I enjoyed going to the farm to collect eggs and check on the chickens, turkeys, ducks, and sheep. All the animals are so well cared for — you can really feel how much love and effort they put into taking care of them. This was my first time using Workaway, and I feel so lucky and thankful to have met them. I highly recommend this place — you’ll learn and experience so many things you could never find in everyday life!

Intelligent, efficient, and attentive, Smilla spent 10 days with us. Very discreet, she was a real help, very kind, and she cooked us delicious meals. It's a shame she wasn't very talkative, but despite that, we had a pleasant time with her. If we have availability in the future, we would gladly welcome her again.

Grazie per questa experiencia! A really pleasant 2 weeks, more or less, at Jenny and Stefano's beautiful place. I was welcomed warmly by Jenny, and over the time here was given diverse outdoor and indoor tasks, which I loved. In the mornings, feeding the chickens and geese, and collecting eggs. The rest of the day was working on any small project / task that needed to be completed. For example making pesto, pomegranate juice; organising and tidying spaces; removing irrigation system in el orto, preparing the vegetable garden for Winter... and more. I really enjoyed the varied tasks. We finished at lunch and had the rest of the day free. There are beautiful walks on their land (which is very big!). I wanted to explore the surrounding area, so I hitch hiked / auto stop to Orvieto and the nearest towns - Ficulle + Fabro . I would really recommend Orvieto Centro (the old historical part on the top of the hill) , and Castiglione del Lago - an old town situated by Lago Trasimeno, a short train ride from their nearest train station. Their house is quite remote, so bear that in mind if you don't have a vehicle and not comfortable hitch hiking or walking far. It was really nice to meet your family, and share a piece of life. I enjoyed meeting some of their friends and Jenny's parents. A nice exchange I would recommend to people wanting an Umbrian experience.

I'd like to especially thank Betti and Stefan for their kindness and generosity.

Anahita is a fantastic host! She made sure I was comfortable and had a true cultural experience! The labor was fair and honest; so was the meals, she is well acquainted with the delicacies if the regions. Topo is a heart warming dog, so is Blanche and her owner; I loved my time there and the people I met. It was an important transitioning place for me; blessings to all :)

Mish & Nige were incredible welcoming and kind hosts. They opend up their home for us and made us feel very welcomed. Mishs cooking is amazing, we dined like queens! We loved their vision and mindset about conservation and learned a lot. Mish & Niges knowledge about New zealands environment is amazing. We felt like our work was meaningful and appreciated and felt like we were part of something bigger. We weeded and planted a lot of native plants and helped at the nursery. The working atmosphere was always respectfull and fun. Thank you for letting us be part of your inspiring eco-sanctuary!

Dear Yannick. Our Belgium Dutchie who kept surprising us over the 2 months he stayed with us. He is a very talented man, works hard, takes up responsibility because he carries out a big heart for a place, likes to think in solutions and came with great suggestions. He is a team player and, as we say in Dutch, a karretrekker, that made sure the whole team was included and organized many day trips with them. Always willing to contribute, interested in others, great with kids activities!! Also with grown up activities actually, thinking of the paddle trips and the funny quiz night with guests and team. Good in communication and good sense of humor. He made it a better place! Arrived as a volunteer, left as a friend. See you next Summer? 😜 ♥️ Giel, Karin and Selah

We had the greatest of times in the beautiful Fjord and are very grateful! Line and Aakash were always there, even in the distance. They welcomed us in their home and made sure we always have everything we need to have a good time. We are looking forward to hopefully be back some day and send a huuuge thank you ♡

Dear Evelien, From the moment we picked you and your lovely dog Nina up, it felt like you were already part of our extended family! You blended in so effortlessly with everyone here.
Your work attitude is truly phenomenal: I mean, who insists on painting a table an hour after arriving?! You accomplished so much during your stay, taking initiative and managing projects on your own with great care.
We’re so grateful for your calm and grounded presence, your eye for detail, and especially the gentle, loving way you cared for our animals (the puppies will surely miss all those walks with you!).
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts and your heart with us. We will remember the good chats and beautiful energy you brought here. We wish you all the luck and love on your next adventures! Come back anytime!

 Un abbraccio forte,
 Lars & Juliette

Suze! Where to start about this incredible woman! She stayed with us for 3 weeks (way too short ;)) and merged easily into the team from day 1. During her stay she helped us with maintaining the property, kitchen tasks (cooking, serving, cleaning) bar service and preserving the fruit harvest. She is a very intelligent and skilled woman and not afraid of a proper discussion. She has a lot of knowledge about many things and until this day we are still enjoying her jams, chutney and home dried raisins 😄 We had a lot of fun with her and highly recommend this warm and open-hearted soul. Thanks Suze for your great energy and until next time! Beijinhos e abrazos from the 3 of us ♥️

I originally planned to stay just one week, but they kindly offered me to stay longer – and I’m so happy I did! In the end, I stayed two weeks and I’m really grateful for the time I had and for getting to know both of them. It’s amazing to see how much love and effort go into a single bottle of olive oil. I helped with the harvest and even got to taste the fresh oil afterwards. I also met their lovely neighbours and learned a lot in the garden about growing plants in drier regions. I also helped with the restoration of their bathroom and got to know more about building with natural materials and I enjoyed it. Their dogs and cats are the sweetest and always up for cuddles! Elli spoiled us with delicious Italian food (thank you!) and we also had fun game nights and small trips together. I’m truly thankful for everything and for the time I got to spend there. 💚

I stayed here for three weeks, but it didn’t feel like three weeks because the time went by so fast! Time flies when you’re having fun, and that’s definitely true here. I had the most wonderful experience — I learned so much about the street animal situation in Pattaya and how the team works to improve it. You get to experience everything up close: from going on rescues and cleaning the animals’ enclosures, to observing operations and walking the dogs. Some cases will truly break your heart, but it’s incredibly rewarding to be part of helping these animals heal and find safety. It was such a joy to care for the dogs and cats and give them plenty of love. The work that Dr. Kwanchai and the entire team do is truly remarkable, and I highly encourage everyone to volunteer here. You’ll leave with new experiences, great memories, amazing friends — and maybe even a dog or two 😉

We stayed with Branka for two weeks, and it was a wonderful experience! We helped her prepare the place for winter: cutting and stacking firewood, fixing a few things around the house (like the chicken fence), and painting the kitchen. We also took care of the animals: dogs, cats, pigs, a turkey, ducks, geese, and chickens. The work was never too hard, and communication with Branka was always very clear. The place itself is peaceful and surrounded by nature, with a beautiful river nearby where you can walk or even swim in the summer. Branka is such a kind and caring person , she always made sure we had everything we needed, like a real mom! And the food… sooo much and sooo delicious! Thank you, Branka, for making us feel at home. We truly enjoyed our time with you and would definitely recommend this experience to other Workawayers! Camilla and Yannick

You are a wonderful family. I enjoyed every single second with you and am grateful that you shared your live so openly with me. From the very beginning, I felt like a member of the family. You are super kind, funny and have a remarkable lifestyle. Ray is a wonderful cook. With great patience, he showed me how to use the bamboo steamer and how to make the perfect sourdough. I also admire him for his ingenuity in coming up with hundreds of stories from a homemade paper booklet. Daniela is one of the most open-minded people I know. I will miss the long evenings with good conversations. Thanks to you, I now know all the tips and tricks in New Zealand. Konnie is a lovely girl. Finally, I could be a child again and play with her in the rain, try to make perfume from flowers, bake biscuits (perhaps it would have been better if we hadn't made up the recipe ourselves), do crafts, play... her energy is simply contagious. I am also very happy to have gotten to know your friends. You have a wonderful community. The Forrest School and Nature Play Sessions were a great experience and a lot of fun. I was able to learn so much and gather new ideas and impressions. You are perfect for Workawayers who want to improve their English and slowly get used to the country. I really appreciate how much freedom you gave me. It was no problem for you when I went on day hikes or drove to Wellington. I can wholeheartedly recommend you and am grateful for this unforgettable time. I am already looking forward to seeing you again ;)

So, where do we begin? We spent 12 wonderful days with Caroline, Kjetil, and their three children and it truly couldn’t have been better. They are incredibly kind and caring people, always patient and happy to explain things in detail whenever we had questions. Most of the tasks we did independently, but they were always nearby and ready to help whenever needed. During our stay, we also had the chance to meet three other Workawayers, which made the experience even more fun and enriching from the start. One highlight was helping out at the autumn market, where we got to chat with local families :) Caroline and Kjetil also gave us fantastic recommendations for things to do in the area, which helped us explore even more. All in all, we had a truly great time at their beautiful home and would love to return someday if the opportunity arises!🤍
