This was my first workaway ever and I stayed a month with Regina. I cannot express how special this time has been for me. I loved everything about the place - it was so beautiful, quiet and picturesque. Regina is such a sweet person. So kind and thoughtful. I am so happy to have met her. And the horses! I miss them every day. There is not a day that I do not think about one of those babies. The fact that the horses were all so playful and curious about humans shows how well Regina takes care of them. I loved my stay - the area is so beautiful and perfect if you enjoy long walks in the fields or in the forest. Plunge is such a nice city. I honestly cannot say enough good things about the horse ranch or Regina. I am so thankful for everything, and I want for sure to go there again.

What a nice time we had with Max!!! He is and has everything you want from a volunteer - hard working, educated, respecful of the space and time of others, thankful, passionate, knowleageable, intelligent and smart, good listener, good conversationalist, socially conscious, good eater, corageous, good learner… One of our best experiences with a workaway volunteer. He helped with work that was important for us to be done. He learned how to prune olive trees and he did a good job clearing and getting the fields ready for the olive harvest. He holds at least three records - having taken cold outside showers almost every day for three weeks (even in windy conditions, light rain and at night), having biked and hiked all the way to Tossal d’Engrilló (a six hour excursion from our place) and having been the first volunteer to bike to the river Algars at the Assut de Lledó to take a swim. He kept the cottage very clean, which we appreciated and value. He ate easily twice as much as a very hungry human being, which we also liked since we like people to enjoy our cooking. We also took him around to experience Catalunya, our culture and history, and we saw him genuinely interested and drawn to it. He had a deep dive into the Catalan way of doing things and lifestyle and we think he appreciated it and understood it quite well. It was simply a worderful experience to share our time and work with Max. Very highly recommended to any host.

Mélina stayed with us during 10 wonderful days in end of october. She has such a positive attitude no matter what kind of work needs to be done! Very helpful! Mélina was very eager to finish all her tasks quickly and in a very good and efficient way. She is really enduring and powerful! After a full work day she would still have a lot of energy to go for a long run in the woods nearby or to help preparing the dinner. She also did great helping around the house - and always with a smile! And we had some good laughs together in the evening playing cards. If you have the chance to host Mélina do not hesitate to invite her!

In one word: it was too short! An amazing discovery about this local organization with big ideas and projects. I had too leave before the kids came back so most of my time was with the members and helping on a few cleaning, painting, rearranging activities. It is a way of building societies that is proposed there, with concrete support to local activities and needs. I would definitely come back if I am coming back again in the region! Go there with no hesitation, you will enjoy the experience!

A small paradise in the desert! The location is remote and it is for the best. You are fully in a great local and attractive spot for tourists and kiters. And it is attractive for a reason: the location, the sunset,the people are amazing there! The staff is really nice, great discussion and table tennis games await you. Be proactive and see where you can help. Do not hesitate to ask and talk to everyone! I highly recommend this Workaway experience, for beginners and experienced travellers as it brings something unique. The accommodation is stunning!!! From helping on for the service to have a proper position as a wellness instructor, there are various activities you can do so share your thoughts and check the needs with Karim and Saad. Enjoy your time there as I did !!!

Reda stayed with us for 10 days and brought a very positive cultural exchange to our community. He is respectful, kind, honest, and always behaved with integrity. He completed his tasks on time, kept the apartment clean and organized, and participated actively in our activities. Even though his English was not fully fluent, communication flowed well, and he easily made friends. He shared interesting stories about Morocco, geography, religion, and cultural habits, enriching everyone’s experience. A polite presence, very respectful with women, and sociable with everyone. We were happy to host someone from such a distant culture. If you are considering hosting him, you can trust his character and responsibility. Thank you, Reda. I spent two amazing weeks here in Rhodes during the summer. The campsite was very peaceful and surrounded by nature. The work was mostly cleaning and preparing huts for guests. Ifigenia was very helpful and taught us how to do the work properly. We worked for three hours a day, five days a week. Ifigenia was also very kind and flexible with fixing specific days off I wished for. We could also work a bit less on some days and then more on others if we were for example to take a day trip somewhere further away. All the positive reviews are indeed true and the trip really exceeded all my expectations. We travelled around the island with Ifigenia and the other volunteers which was super nice. I’m so happy that I got to experience it all and meet so many wonderful people. 100% recommended! Also sorry Ifigenia for the very late review :D

If I could give this experience more than 5 stars, I would. I was originally planning on staying for 4 weeks, but by the time I got to my fourth week, I still wasn’t ready to say goodbye so I extended for an extra week. I’ve said it a million times but this place is truly something special; you’ll connect with amazing backpackers every day, get to test your cooking skills, put on events for some extra cash, and end the evening with dance parties. This is one of those hostels that you get every once in a while that turns out to be a gem of a place- and getting to work at it was an honor. From day one I noticed the impeccable energy of the staff & they truly took me in with open arms and lots of love. Jacob is an extremely amazing manager & handles situations very efficiently. He’s the perfect balance of friend & boss man. The schedules are decently flexible and he’ll ask if you have day off preferences every week- which was so nice! Also, you can’t beat free home cooked meals nearly every evening as a backpacker:) Tirana is alright, but this hostel was the reason I was always ready to come back to the city after experiencing a few days off. Thank you for helping me get my spark back. I hope to come back again someday. 🫶🏼

Janne Matti was a great help during two weeks here at our lakehouse! Working outside - sometimes in the rain - was no problem for Janne. He always finished all the tasks quickly. Three entire days we had big fires to burn things from the garden. He also helped us building a new great looking wooden door for our cellar. Together with the other three helpers he formed a great team! Janne was a real good help in the kitchen aswell. We really recommend to host Janne while he is travelling through Sweden!

Was soll ich sagen, es war meine erste Workaway-Erfahrung und ich hätte es nicht besser treffen können. Anni und Oli sind die süßesten, fröhlichsten und nettesten Menschen überhaupt. Man merkt, dass dieser Hof ihre Herzensangelegenheit ist und dabei zu helfen diesen Instandzuhalten war für mich eine sehr schöne und erfüllende Aufgabe. Besonders geschätzt habe ich die transparente Kommunikation der beiden bezüglich der Erwartungen an mich als Workawayer, die abwechslungsreichen Aufgaben (Pferdestall misten, Erdbeeren umsetzen, Unkraut entfernen, Holz stapeln etc.) und vor allem die persönlichen Gespräche über Gott und die Welt - diese Kombination war etwas ganz besonderes und machten diese Erfahrung derart wertvoll für mich. Der Hof und die Umgebung sind wie ein kleines Paradies. Die Ruhe, die vielen lieben Tiere, allen voran die Hündin Mali, runden diese intensive, lustige und bereichernde Erfahrung für mich ab. Ich würde diese Erfahrung jedem Workawayer/jeder Workawayerin wärmstens ans Herz legen! In Anlehnung an zwei große deutsche Künstler: "You're my heart, you're my soul!" Interpretation offen ... 😅

This was our first Workaway experience, and it couldn’t have been better. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with open arms with lots of animal snuggles, delicious food and wine. At Claire and Andrea’s you will not only be a workawayer, you will be included in the family. They showed us the area around and introduced us to their friends and family! We also got the honor to help organize Claire’s birthday party which was a super hit and fun experience! Apart from that, the work was mutually decided, depending on what we were interested in of doing and in their needs around the house and garden. A perfect balance. The nearly three weeks we spent there have the been the highlight of our trip, and we hope to return next year!

Svea stayed with us for two months. She was very helpful and extremely easy to ask for help. She organized tasks herself, and got it done quickly. She helped cleaning, washing clothes, tidying and cooking. She prepared great lunches for my kids every morning which they really appreciated. She also helped with outdoor tasks, drying herbs and packing meat from the local hunter. I loved having Svea around. She is a well reflected, calm and respectful woman. I’d welcome her back any time without a doubt.

I had the best time on Michele’s ranch in Norway! I stayed there for six weeks and collected so many wonderful experiences and memories. Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming — I really enjoyed spending time with Michele, Hermod, Maxine, and Emma. During my stay, I took care of the horses and had the chance to work closely with them. I immediately took them all in my heart. Michele has such a great eye for recognizing your skills and matching you with the perfect horse. I always felt trusted, valued, and appreciated. All the tasks were fair, respectful, and absolutely manageable, and there was always enough free time to rest and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. I also got the chance to explore a lot of the local area and sometimes joined Michele on her work outside the ranch — those experiences were amazing! I learned so much more, not only about horses but also about Norwegian culture and life on the countryside. I would do it all over again and I truly hope that I’ll get the chance to visit them again in the future. Thank you for everything!

Yann and his friend Lenny stayed for about 16 days, and it was an amazing experience having them here. They fitted in perfectly, brought great energy to the group, and were super easygoing and reliable. They worked on cutting olive shoots, strimming, fixing the kitchen roof leaks, painting the back of the house, and installing guttering. Both already had experience with tools and roofing, and it really showed — they were independent, thorough, and always ready to help with a smile. They also joined in the olive harvest and cooked great meals for the group. A pleasure to have around — they’re welcome back anytime!

Wonderful working with Steph! Really helped us when we needed it the most and was great for team vibes. Great musician too!

A big thank you to Andrew and Erica who made such a difference to our projects whilst they were here. Always cheerful, they both took on any task that was asked of them with enthusiasm and commitment. We enjoyed their company and can highly recommend them!

We were blessed to have Josh and Flo come and lend a hand recently. A cheerful, easy going couple who were happy to take on any task we gave them "no problem" - and nothing was too much trouble. When we had to go away for a few nights, they made sure everything ran smoothly in our absence - overseeing the ongoing projects, sorting out cooking rotas and generally keeping the team happy. Both of them are practical and hard working, and great company as well. Don't miss them if they come your way!! !

I was welcomed to Raphaël's charity school in Arusha, Tanzania, for about two weeks. This short stay allowed me primarily to observe and assist the teachers in the different classes. It was a wonderful experience. The children are adorable and very intelligent. During my free time, Raphaël facilitated my exploration of the region through his company « Bush and Forest », with which I was able to discover and go on a safari in Lake Manyara National Park, among other places. I would recommend planning a longer stay in order to move beyond the observation phase and have a more significant impact. A big thank you to Raphaël and his entire team for their warm welcome and support.
