Claudia joined me at my house for about one month: she has been a great company and help in all everyday home keeping tasks. Claudia also did some works outside, she is clever, patient and respectful, and kept the place tidy and clean. She always was much loving with all cats and Kokoro, the dog. I strongly recommend her, thank you Claudia!

Very cool people, very authentic Italian vibes. Chill and open minded community. We super liked it!!

Emma was fantastic, mature beyond her age, a lovely presence, flexible and always a joy. In the time she was here we had a lot of different tasks, and she mastered everything with ease and commitment and perfectly. We are very sad to see her go and hope she will be back!

That was my first experince as workaway in a school, i can say for sure that i was a very unique and amazing one.Living so much time with the student let me discover how nice and friendly they were,and i really enjoyed to take part in all the activities and adventure with them. All the teachers and the stuff were always willing for a helping and whenever i needed , and the kitchen' stuff made very good food ...The only thing i can suggest is to have an experience like this to really understand how incredible is,and luckly since i have decided to stay in Denmark i have sometimes the chance to visit them.

What an experience ! We were here for a month (in August) and this place was definitely one of the highlight of our travel ! Our tasks were mainly taking care of dogs and building some area for them and after a few days we have been part of the training with our own wagon ! Everything was so nice to do and Jim and Silje were always very helpful and kind with us The dogs are also very nice and it was such a pleasure to see them happy to see us (and the food). We were every day closer from them, some of them are very friendly from day 1, other you need to take time but they become the best friends then During the summer time, if you like to hike there are plenty of path with nice views and for every level We recommand 100% !!

Kate is a wonderful person. We were truly lucky to have her with us during the olive harvest. We shared so much joy and lightness together. Not only while working in the fields, picking olives and listening to music, but also during our free time — exploring Sicily, visiting small towns nearby, and even taking a little train trip together. It was a beautiful experience to share. We also learned a lot from each other. We talked about life in Sicily, traditions and daily rhythms here, and she shared stories about life in Canada. It was a rich and heartfelt cultural exchange. At the beginning, we thought we would mostly have male volunteers helping us, but we ended up with a girl team — and I have to say, it was wonderful. Kate is smart, funny, down-to-earth, and capable. She took on every task with ease, including the ones we thought required more physical strength. She was always helpful, proactive and attentive. She shared a room with another volunteer and was always clean, respectful, and organized in shared spaces. Living and working with her felt easy and natural. We are truly happy to have hosted her. She brought warmth, kindness, and joy into our home. We hope to meet again one day. Thank you, Kate. 💛

Phillipa is a great host. She made me feel like one of the family. She is so helpful and respectful. I did a number of chores for her around her home and on the farm, which she appreciated. She is very easy to get along with and we shared many stories and laughed a lot. I would fully recommend staying at Phillipa's home to help her there on on the farm.

Maggie came at at time when I was very busy. She quietly and independently went about the long list of tasks she had to choose from while I was at work. She was always pleasant to be around and was willing to do all of the things we asked of her. She was a brillianly skilled cleaner and, while most of the other tasks were new to Maggie, she was a quick learner and willing to try things that were out of her comfort zone in sensible and calm ways. She acted as nurse and lamb comforter while I trimmed hooves and gave dewormer doses, tidied up in the garden and did a fantastic job at cleaning fridges, sorting ripening tomatoes, running the woodstove for her first time and being a generally wonderful guest and helper at our hobby farm. She even came to school with me to help one of my students make his Halloween costume. Whew! Her adventures in the kitchen were quite different than we were used to (understandably), but it was amazing to come home to food already prepared on my work nights. She does great with a recipe. :) It was a pleasure to host her. Our dogs miss her already.

I had a great experience here and would definetly reccomend it, the whole team made me feel at home from day one. The food provided is awesome too, especially the fresh tropical fruits from the garden. If you are a moto-traveller then you will enjoy the company of the team and guests who share the same passion, if you're not then you will probably develop a new hobby here because their enthusiasm is infectious. Its a great project with great people, and although I was volunteering for a business it never felt like work. There lots of beautiful locations to explore in the mountains and surrounding area well away from the tourist trail. The volunteer accomadation is also finished to a high standard

Johanna stayed with me for three autumn weeks in 2025. She blended right into the daily rhythm of Swedish country life and helped with garden work, painting, general maintenance, animal care, and cooking. She found a good balance between her own online work and helping me out in an independent and reliable way. We had a lovely time together, and I learned to cook several new vegetarian dishes. She taught me a lot of French while practising her English with me — so it was a great match. Johanna is a pleasant person to be around and she is welcome back any time!

I found this work very difficult and challenging to begin with, but thanks to the amazing staff and help of Cristhian and Juan we was a good team in no time at all and had a good time together. the property is amazing and the location is perfect.

When she sent me the request on Workaway, she was already in Stromboli, which is because she knows the island very well, perhaps better than I do. And she definitely knows more Strombolians than I do, even though I have been here for ten years. But I'm a hardened misanthrope, so it doesn't count. Anne, however, was truly helpful: she already knew a lot about horticulture, and in the few hours she was able to work (the heat kills you), she gave it her all. And she always volunteered to lend a hand. One day, she fixed the veranda, something no one else had ever bothered to do, considering it impossible, clearly not for her. Another thing I really appreciated was that she respected my privacy; she had her own time and interests, which never conflicted with mine. It was a perfect "coexistence," as well as an extraordinary help (I wasn't in top form those days, by the way). So, thank you, Anne.

Henry came with the intention of learning Spanish and experiencing new cultures while working and he more than fulfilled all expectations! At work, he was very efficient, performing the various tasks on the ground very well, such as pruning, clearing brush, improving the soil's nutrient value around fruit trees, trimming hedges, and separating brambles. He also cleaned and ran the kitchen perfectly. He applied resin to exterior woodwork, leaving it in excellent condition. And he had such a good rapport with the animals that they always wanted to be with him. We were lucky enough to be able to talk about many things over meals, as he always wanted to learn more about everything. It was very rewarding to teach him as much Spanish as we could because he always wanted to keep improving! Living together was fantastic! he was always helping with everything, eager to participate in cultural events like the Pontedeume festivals with the Cucaña (a greased pole tilted on a boat with a flag at the end that he almost catched), rural Olympics, climbing, hiking, yoga classes, and cycling long distances.... he found it very easy to connect with everyone he met. You have a lot of fans around the village ! 😊 It's been wonderful meeting you, Henry, and you have a very important quality: you're always grateful for life. Do never lose that 💜 You have your Spanish family here, and you'll always be welcome. We wish you the best of luck with your international studies, and we hope to talk about them soon. For all these reasons, and many more, we highly recommend Henry as a Workaway.

Gábor and Luca are such a wonderful couple — kind, sweet, hardworking, and truly caring. They helped us so much in completing the outdoor area of our creative base, always bringing great energy and dedication to everything they did. Our little son absolutely loved spending time with them and always wanted to play together! They’re responsible, precise, and full of motivation — we could always count on them. We’re deeply grateful for all their help and would gladly welcome them back anytime. Sending you both big hugs and lots of positive energy! 💛✨

This was our first volunteer experience abroad, and one that will never be forgotten. It was amazing on all accounts. We were able to make a meaningful difference for the women and children of the community. However, this NGO is more than just volunteering — it’s also about understanding a whole new culture and gaining a new perspective on life. We’ve made connections there that feel like family. The people from the organisation, the farm, and the community all welcomed us with open arms, and we immediately felt at home. We will never forget Arusha, we miss everyone there, and we hope to return one day.

Claudia and Arturo are amazing people, and there whole family are very special. we had very nice times together and there property is amazing. thank you for the amazing opportunity I got to have here and thank you for the kindness you shared 😁

We truly enjoyed our time with Claudia and Tiago! They are such a lovely couple: kind, generous, and always willing to help. They often offered us rides to the train station, nearby towns, or the beach, and made us feel so welcomed from the very first day. Both are amazing cooks and treated us to delicious, healthy meals that we still think about! We had great conversations, shared laughter around the bonfire, and spent some cozy evenings. The accommodation was absolutely wonderful — we had our own cozy little apartment with a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Everything was beautifully decorated with so much love and attention to detail that it immediately felt like home. The work was fulfilling and peaceful. We were surrounded by adorable animals all day and mainly helped in the mornings and evenings with feeding them, cleaning their areas, and bringing them back to their stables. We also helped prepare the garden and did a bit of maintenance like fixing fences. It was our first Workaway experience, and we couldn’t have asked for a better one. We felt comfortable, appreciated, and truly part of something special. We were sad to leave and would definetely repeat! We can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a meaningful, warm, and joyful experience :). Thank you Claudia & Tiago :) <3

We absolutely loved having Mari staying with us! She is so sweet, funny, positive, hardworking, skilled, dedicated, and always makes sure to do things properly. Mari helped with painting, weeding, cooking, deep cleaning, animal care, and much more — and she did it all with enthusiasm and great attention to detail. She brought a wonderful energy to the house, and her laughter was so contagious that we still miss it! Mari is one of those people who make every day better just by being around. We truly hope our paths cross again soon — she will always be welcome back here.

Having Maria with us was an absolute pleasure — we honestly couldn’t have wished for better help or a kinder or more delightful person. She has an incredible sense of overview and always understood how to do every task the right way — often adding that little extra touch we hadn’t even thought of ourselves. She is very quick to understand what needs to be done and does it all with care, initiative, and we would even say professionalism. Maria helped with cooking, weeding, animal care, and so much more farm related work — everything she did was done perfectly and with a smile. On top of that, she is simply a wonderful person, someone it’s impossible not to like. We feel very lucky to have had her as a Workawayer and dear Maria we hope to see you again!

Ron is a very kind guy, a huge worker, with a very open mind and it was a pleasure to host him. He immediately being part of the team, with us and with the other workawayer. Everything was perfect. We talk a lot (he speak a very very good Italian) , we discover some typical dishes from his country, we work a lot and the times, as usual when everything is good, runs very fast. Wood splitting and stacking, painting, gardening, walnuts harvest, Ron had always a big smile on his face. We wish him all the best for everything.
