I spent a week with Penne, Blair, Lynda, Rob, Truffles, Lily and Neko :) I felt very welcomed by the whole family. Penne showed me around their beautiful house and property and everyone was always happy to answer me any questions I had. I enjoyed to have done varied tasks throughout my stay. From wedding to chopping trees and taking wooden things like shelves apart. I already miss petting Truffles, Lily and Neko. They are truly the cutest. I'm happy and grateful to have found a family who is vegan friendly(rare in NZ). The vegan dinners cooked by Penne, Rob or Lynda were always amazing. Thank you for welcoming me so warmly into your family! I hope we meet again someday.

Thank you Arnaud for weeding our extensive bush garden and being an excellent house guest. Arnaud is a very considerate and hard working young man, who enthusiastically participated in local events and explored the area in his free time. We wish him well in his travels throughout New Zealand.

I had a lovely stay at Fleur's (and the whole wonderfully spirited family's) this summer. I spent four weeks and enjoyed the privilege of my own room, the wonderful large and grassy area, the beautiful flowery terrasse, animals, croquet and barbecues, walks (or bus rides) into Wicklow town and other trips through the east of Ireland. I also had the great pleasure to enjoy great company with the family and other workawayers, whose company I hope to enjoy some time again. I worked where I could be outside in a pleasantly mild Irish summer, have fun and contribute, and sometimes sweat, which at the end of the day felt like good exercise and a nice break from my normal working habit in front of a computer screen. The working hours were very fair; five hours a day five days a week from 9 am to 2 pm (with short pauses) with the option of, if I had asked and needed to, contributing my 25 hours a week at different times. My work initially consisted of gardening, but mostly of building a small cabin, and I was fortunate to learn a lot from a fellow Workawayer, and to use my rusty building skills. Food was always provided, where I, like other Workawayers, would cook or make our own lunch according to our (realistic) preferences but served dinner mostly by Fleur herself, who cooks delicious and healthy vegetarian food. I always had the freedom to be on my own, but also to enjoy nice conversations and evenings with the people, which I remember very well to this day. Thank you for everything! See you some time again! We sent one week at the lovely cortijo surrounded by olive trees. Lawrence and Alina are a wonderful couple. Lawrence gave us various tasks every day, he is very patient and kind. Alina prepared delicious meals three times a day. We really enjoyed staying with them, they have cool stories to share too. The two dogs are also friendly and cute. We would like definitely to go back some day.

I had a wonderful time taking are of Koda, Krusty, and Kyo for 6 weeks at Victoria's place. Koda the dog was so sweet, and very well trained/easy to take care of, and Krusty/Kyo the two cats were fun to be around and full of energy. Victoria was communicative and easy to coordinate with throughout my stay and was quick to respond to any questions I had. The place was nice and spacious and a short walk away from Turia Park. Loved my stay!

Beautiful place and energy, even the air smells nice in there :) Real people with very good communication. I already miss this place I hope to be back soon :)

I stayed 7 weeks with Laëtitia, Léo, Olivia, and Vangus, and I absolutely loved my time with them! I was welcomed with open arms to a very warm and caring family! I am so so grateful for the experiences that you all gave me, exploring Château de Valon, traveling to Espalion, meeting your family and creating bonds with them, learning traditions, learning how to cook better, being able to cook for you guys, and of course learning how to slow down and appreciate every little (and big) thing! The time spent working, relaxing, and getting to know each other was well-balanced and flexible. I would not trade this experience for anything!! I grew as a person, I grew in my French, and I grew in various skills as well. I feel like I now have family in Lacroix-Barrez (that I can’t wait to visit when I come back)!!

Had a wonderful time with Paolo! It wasn’t easy — but I’m not looking for easy paths! Paolo is a great person who truly loves what he does and pursues his goals with passion. He takes everything around him seriously and with care. A little note for anyone planning to come: you really have to love farming. Life on this little paradise can be tough at times, and getting anywhere from the property can be challenging (especially if you don’t have a car). However, being able to feel and see the process — from planting a tiny seed to having fresh vegetables on your table — is an incredibly valuable experience. It’s absolutely worth trying! I hope to come back one day when my skills can be of more help. Thank you for everything! 🌱

Meli and Nahuel stayed with us for a couple of weeks. We had a good time with a mix of work and free time. There were some sunny days in the garden. Cooking together and some interesting stories about their home. It was my pleasure to work with Nahuel on the open work packages for the house. All the best in New Zealand! Magda is an old friend and as such has been coming to our farm regularly for the last 13 years. She has helped in many different activities over the years, putting up fences, moving the sheep, feeding chickens and sheep, digging garden beds, removing branches from cut trees, harvesting apples, making jams and so on. She always likes to spend time with our children (now 6 and 11 years old) - she was taking care of them already when they were babies and now enjoys playing, chatting and doing homework with them. She's also very interested in the world, in politics, in peoples lives and different lifestyles, and therefore a good person for interesting conversations. So, for a wide range of activities, I can definitely recommend hosting her as a workawayer!

We stayed with Brigitte for four weeks in October and we would do it again! Brigitte is a very nice, hospitable woman who can tell lots of entertaining stories and makes you feel at home. The property is beautiful and we will miss the view! The five hours of work per day were not always easy, and Brigitte always found tasks that needed to be done, but it was manageable and she always cooked very good food. Afterwards and on the weekends, we always had plenty of free time to explore the region. Our accommodation was a little remote, with many open spaces, and storms and animals caused us to lose some sleep on a few nights, but we had a lot of privacy. Overall, it was a wonderful time and we have collected some lovely memories together. Thank you, Cornelius and Henriette

My stay with Lara and her family has been simply amazing. Ursula treated me like a real son, honestly, like a second mom to me. She took care of me in every way, and I’ll never forget that🫶🏼. From the very first day, they made me feel like part of the family, like we had known each other forever. We laughed a lot, played Skyjo almost every night, shared dinners, walks, and so many fun moments that I’ll carry with me forever💃🏼. The horses… wow. All of them are incredible, so kind and beautiful. I learned a lot and also really enjoyed spending time with them. The place, the nature, the animals… everything there just has something special. Lara and the whole family are truly wonderful people, open, funny, and easy to connect with. I’ve probably been a bit too much sometimes (I just can’t stop joking 😅), but luckily, every silly thing I did only made them laugh more😋✌🏼. Oh, and how could I forget that crazy blue car? What a ride! Absolute chaos, but unforgettable. I’m leaving with a full heart and a big smile, knowing this isn’t goodbye. I’m 100% coming back next year, no doubt about it❤️❤️.

Pasé unos días muy bonitos acá. Fuimos a la playa, paseamos a los perros, hablamos sobre la cultura peruana y compartimos rica comida juntos. la casa es super bonita, grande y me dieron un cuarto con baño privado. la playa esta muy cerca y es ideal para surfear y refrescarse. la zona también es muy tranquila. Sin duda volveré a disfrutar más de este lugar. los perros son super tranqui y fácil de cuidar 🤗

We had a fantastic time with such a wonderful family. They are everything you want in a Workaway host. Clear communication, good accommodation, and. great working environment. The only regret we had was not staying longer. Miss you guys!

We had a wonderful experience hosting Joséphine and Antoine for 40 days! They were incredibly helpful around our acreage — from fall cleanup and painting projects to keeping the house tidy and caring for the chickens. They’re both hard workers and great company. We really enjoyed sharing meals, playing games, and hiking together — and their friendly German Shepherd was a lovely companion too! Our place looks amazing, especially the driveway, thanks to their help. We’d happily welcome them back anytime! Wishing you all the east experience in Kimberley!

Jöel was a great guest with us. He was really excellent at keeping up with all the house agreements, and he brought a lot of useful skills. He had a tough start into his time with us, it wasn't quite what he expected. I appreciated that he was open and honest about his experience. I can recommend Jöel as a volunteer.

This teaching volunteering experience in Kwahu Tafo was interesting and has left me with friends and good memories, for the children were eager to learn and the teaching teams, as well as the neighbors, very kind ! Also the communication process to get to the association online and on land was very efficient. Living in Kwahu Tafo opened my mind, as it was very different from what I knew (from the food habits to the funeral customs). I just regret I had to come in August, which is obviously a bad timing for teaching, although there was summer school going on :) A big thanks to all the people of the association, the schools and of the village of Tafo who fed me, oriented me and taught me the basics of Twi language ^^

It has been a wonderful first workaway experience in Burnsall with Richard and Morris. Since the first day of my stay, they made me feel at home and welcome. The work was pretty easy to do, and I was usually finished around lunchtime. The work consistedof ironing the sheets, putting on some new bedsheets, cleaning the bathrooms, and vacuuming the floors. In the afternoon I was free to do what I wanted. I usually studied, read a book, went for a walk alongside the magnificent riverside, and enjoyed Burnsall. Richard is a fantastic host. He gave me a glance into British culture, British cuisine, politics, British history, pub quizzes, and a lot more. During my days off I had the opportunity to visit some city in the UK. Richard or his sister would drive me to the train station and also pick me back up. Morris showed me how to bake gingerbread, and the food in general was really good. I could ask Richard any question, and he would know the answer and never make me feel stupid. Richard and his whole family are very kind, benevolent, funny, and welcoming people. They all made me feel welcome and included me in their daily lives.
