I had an amazing week staying in Fishery Bay with Nel and Ian. They were very welcoming and accomodating. The property is beautiful and has a view of Fishery Bay, which is only a short walk away. I helped with gardening, household tasks, but mainly by designing and painting a mural on one of their caravans. This was an amazing and transformative experience, which I am very grateful for. I was able to explore Pt Lincoln a little bit, which was good. Both Ian and Nel are very knowledgeable in different areas, and both were happy to share their wisdom. The history of their place was especially interesting. I couldn't rate this week any higher, thank you both!

I spent such an amazing stay with this Family. They warmly welcomed me and teached me so many things with all their passion. I had the chance to visit the surroundings, do some kayaking, go to the local market and they even invited me to join them for a local wedding which was an unforgettable experience. If you're looking for a life who make sens in a peaceful area surrounded by lovely people this place is for you. I booked for three weeks at first and extended for two months. How to say I really enjoyed it.. Thank you again for having welcomed me as a part of your family, I'm really grateful for that and I hope to see you again soon !

Simeon is very skilled young cabinet maker/carpenter. He's very friendly and easy to get along with. Hi takes initiative and is able to work self directed based on his past experiences and training. He even traveled with his basic hand tools, Japanese chisels and water stones.

Justin is very polite, curious and courteous. He's always very happy to help and be involved where needed. He showered us in Belgium chocolate and we didn't object.

Thank you so much Sica, you and your family were absolutely amazing. I'm very grateful I got to create both photo and video content for your social media, together with your sweet students and cousin Dono. This week was an amazing, special experience to me. Temanggung is beautiful, the room was great and I'll be missing the amazing homecooked meals made by you and your mom. I'm writing this review many months after I left Scott's place because I end up thinking about it fairly often. after doing over 12 (I think) wonderful workaways around the world, Scott's has easily stood out and been one of my favourite places. As a solo female traveler when I was first looking for places to visit in Canada this wasn't the first place I considered since I'm usually wary of staying with a man on his own. That being said I am so unbelievably grateful this is where I ended up because Scott and Gambier island spoiled me time after time after time. Scott's friend Olya ended up being there when I was there and her cooking is some of the best food I've ever had, easily. She is also very active so we did yoga and workouts so I honestly felt like I was at a wellness retreat with the good food, workouts, peaceful scenery, and physical labor, I was l feeling super fit. I ended up returning multiple times throughout my Canada travels and even when Olya wasn't there I was always comfortable and safe around Scott so if you are reading this as a solo woman I highly recommend. The property is lovley, the accommodation is cozy, the work can be physical but I loved every minute of planting lavender, building fences, making fertiliser, weeding, ect. Gambier island is remote and beautiful with lush forests and charming beaches. Scott, Olya and Maple (the dog) were the best company I could ask for and the other workawayers I shared my time with made the experience that much more special. This workaway had so much to offer so if you go, bring your best and make sure it's a mutual exchange. There's lots more I could share but if you are curious I would just suggest reaching out to see if this could align with you.

My stay at Midori's place was amazing! She made me participate in so many experiences and meet a lot of people that will stay in my mind for a long time. I also really loved the time I had with her family, and even though her kids are indeed a little shy, we had many good times together. I could really experience what living in a more local area of Japan is in the best way as possible. She's also very flexible and let me organise my schedule with her, leaving me a great freedom on my plan. Her English is really good but she's also trying to speak in Japanese at the same time, which made me progress a lot in my learning of the language. Thanks again Midori and I sincerely hope that we can meet again soon 🙏✨

Fiz um intercâmbio de trabalho de 10 dias com a Bruna e o Danilo e foi uma experiência muito legal e terapêutica. Eles foram super flexíveis com as tarefas e horários, e também foram compreensivos quando fui conhecer a cidade de São Paulo no fim de semana. São pessoas muito boas e acolhedoras, com uma família jovem e querida, vivendo em um verdadeiro paraíso. Desejo tudo de melhor para eles no futuro!

Aaron lived at our farm for a little over a week, but he left the impression that we had known him for many years. He is very hardworking, does his job carefully, applying creativity and skill. He is easy to work with, learns a new business quickly and is open to learning. Aaron has many fascinating life stories. He talks about his country, culture and history in an interesting way. However, for this you need to ask him😊. He's a skilled cook. He has a special dish that he cooked for us last night. At the same time, he managed to find products in our small town that partially or completely replaced the ingredients he needed. Thank you Aaron for visiting us! We look forward to seeing you again!

Micah demonstrated her Californian sence of humour and fun. She was very good with Amber our Weimerana, and she fitted in fine. The Weather was not as good as it could have been during her stay, but when able she worked in both the front and back garden. She made an outstanding job of weeding and clearing up out the front. She also helped to fit some kitchen cupboards and worked out well how to fit the doors. Good luck with your future Workaway placements, and your future study.

Toby ia a highly motivated self starter who worked extremely hard. He cleared out an old pond and Vicftorian Terrace, which included removing 3 ton plus of stone and concrete, and moving it the legnth of the garden. He also did other general gardening work, and painted a couple of ceilings, which was done to a high standard. Futer hosts will be lucky to have his assistance. If he ever wanted to come back for a further placement he would be most welcome. Good luck Toby.

Ragna and Carla were excellent work away guests . I found them easy to be with , they worked hard when given difficult tasks and were physical very able to do hard work. They also both had a very positive attitude. I enjoyed their company when we worked together, they listened well to instructions and seemed to really enjoy the bush life. Ragna was able to sing on a song I was recording a wonderful turnout. I would totally recommend them to other Workaway hosts and I wish them both well in their travels in Aotearoa.

We’ve been here with my partner. It was just amazing and unforgettable. It was a completely new experience for us to be with children, but it felt so natural and smooth to get into this project that we quickly became confident. We were excited to bring some of our skills to. My partner knows more about photography and art, while I focused more on speaking and teaching English and playing frisbee. The children were so curious to discover our cultures and habits. It was also very easy to get them to try something completely new for them. Every child has their own personality, and it was such a pleasure to get to know each of them. Satyam is someone very welcoming, openminded, understanding, and fun. He loved showing us the local life around the place. We found in him both a big brother and a friend who opened the doors of his home to us. Last but not least, his mom cooked some of the best Indian food we had during our trip. We missed this place so much that we came back a second time and stayed for several more weeks. To summarise, we left having learned much more than we could ever teach. Thanks for let us the privilege of painting the logo on the wall. Be happy, guys. All the best, Chachu 🌻

Mahmoud is a truly amazing man and was an outstanding volunteer and guest! He spent time teaching English at my academy, and the students absolutely loved him. He has a wonderful teaching style that makes learning fun, and all the students were very happy studying with him. The memories he created will certainly be remembered forever. I especially recall a fun moment during a game when he jokingly called the losing team "losers." It was a lighthearted, funny moment that everyone, especially the kids, loved and laughed about! He brings great energy and humor wherever he goes. Mahmood is kind, engaging, and dedicated. Thank you, Mahmoud, and enjoy your next travels!

I stayed at this school for a month for my first EVER workaway! When I first started messaging Marianne about this opportunity, we talked a lot and I asked a bunchhhh of questions. She was so nice, patient, helpful, and very understanding. She helped me work through everything, got me in touch with the families I’d stay with and had multiple calls with me. I booked my flight over there and from the first moment in the school, I felt extremely welcomed. The teachers and staff are super friendly and the kids were super eager to meet me! Everyone here is just so welcoming and generous! I never had to worry about going hungry or feeling uncomfortable and everyone always made me feel at home! A normal days schedule for me looked like waking up around 6:00 or 7:00 and heading to school with my host family to be there at 8:00. Classes vary from day to day but normally you can start at either 8:20 or 8:50 and finish classes anywhere from 14:00-16:00, sometimes earlier, but you’ll have breaks during the day too. This workaway could easily suit someone who’s studying. You can choose to be more involved or less invloved but I’d suggest being bold and getting as involved as you can because they really do have a really awesome school! I wish I could stay longer!! I will cherish this place and all the people and memories here forever as my first ever workaway! Thank you to everyone there, especially Marianne and my host families!! With love, Jenevieve

We had a wonderful time with Katie! She is such a nice person to be around. She is calm, patient and very creative. Katie took a nice care of the boys, came up with very interesting activities for them and played a number of games both with our kids and with us. We showed her around Poznan and it was a wonderful time when we talked, laughed and simply enjoyed being together. It felt like she was a part of a family. Katie is a perfect Workawayer: absolutely reliable, communicative, easygoing, helpful and very cheerful!

Patricia arrived to me only because another host didn't work out for her but that was definitely my good luck. She was extremely pleasant around the house and added greatly to the chat at the dinner table. She's a gentle person by nature yet as a horse woman she's extremely strong and able. Patricia is comfortable in her own skin and creates a calming atmosphere around her. She has a fantastic work ethic and did trojan work for me in the garden. Once you explain to Patricia what needs to be done she will work independently and do a thorough job. I am highly recommending Patricia as a workaway and you'll be very lucky if she comes knocking at your door.

Hello! J'ai passé deux semaines en fin de saison chez Carine, Florian et leur petite fille Anaé. J'ai trouvé ici une ambiance bienveillante et un bel equilibre dans les moments d'entre-aide dans leur rangement et preparation de la cabane pour l'hiver, et dans ma recherche de repos, les moments d'echanges, d'aprentissages et de découvertes des environs. Ayant la cabane sur le tour des Muverans, les moments libres faisaient place à pas mal d'opportunités de balades avec ou sans nuitée. Florian et Carine, toujours le sourire aux lèvres m'ont accueilli à bras ouvert dans leur petit cocon remplis de douceur où on fait place à une vie toute simple qui nous ramène aux petits plaisirs, la nature et des échanges vrais. Un grand merci à vous pour cette experience pure!

I spent a week with Penne, Blair, Lynda, Rob, Truffles, Lily and Neko :) I felt very welcomed by the whole family. Penne showed me around their beautiful house and property and everyone was always happy to answer me any questions I had. I enjoyed to have done varied tasks throughout my stay. From wedding to chopping trees and taking wooden things like shelves apart. I already miss petting Truffles, Lily and Neko. They are truly the cutest. I'm happy and grateful to have found a family who is vegan friendly(rare in NZ). The vegan dinners cooked by Penne, Rob or Lynda were always amazing. Thank you for welcoming me so warmly into your family! I hope we meet again someday.
