Luluk and her beautiful family are probably some of the best people I have met in my life. They are very open minded people with lots to share about Javanese culture and I feel really lucky to have spent time with them. No topic is off limits and we were able to speak about everything, I learned so much from them. I am an introvert at heart and that can be a bit difficult when doing a WorkAway but not once did I feel uncomfortable because we had established respect for eachother since the very beginning. Luluk is very clear about what your day will look like and I really appreciate the organization, plus she's an excellent cook! Her baby is absolutely adorable and her husband makes the coolest handmade objects and jewelry, I talked with him for hours! I would recommend this experience for anyone who is interested in teaching English to both children and young adults. I will never forget my experience with them <3

I stayed with Ahmad for a total of three weeks, across two locations of the bamboo project. I worked with Ahmad on a marketing plan to help him promote a unique bamboo stay on Airbnb, in order to support sustainable living and the idea of bamboo as a durable and sustainable building material. I also looked at bamboo products and their sales on a marketplace. During my stay, I was able to explore Langkawi and Perak, near Ipoh and Taiping. Ahmad is a very kind, generous and thoughtful host, and we discussed over meals about his ideas about bamboo, and how to change the perception of bamboo, not to mention the many beautiful souls who joined his cause over the years. Ahmad gave me a personal tour of Kuala Kangsar, telling me stories about his personal growth in the city and the state of Perak. I would highly recommend Ahmad and his project to anyone interested in architecture, sustainable building and living and exploring the countryside and jungles of Malaysia.

Abigail and Grace were a great working team Although I did not get to spend much time with them due to a work trip they did a tremendous amount of work in the vegetable garden while I was away. They were both cheerful and engaged folks and i would thoroughly reccommend them. So grateful thaank both and Kia Ora

Due to scheduling issue, I stayed at Karine's place for only one week, but I had a wonderful experience. I discussed on my first day with Karine about her expectations and what I could achieve within a relatively short time. Considering my strengths and skillsets, I worked on a Chinese menu for the spa service options, as well as a Chinese menu for the restaurant and bar. In addition, I wrote a blog post for the popular Chinese social media app XiaoHongShu, aka Little Red. These efforts will hopefully help Karine attract more Chinese clients going forward. Karine is a very welcoming host, kind, generous and considerate. I stayed in a bungalow and could enjoy the beautiful setting of the spa. The location is a bit further away from downtown Kampot, but a TukTurk can be easily arranged for any visits to town. I would highly recommend Karine and her spa to anyone with expertise in social media, content writing and travel writing.

I stayed with Daniela, Eduardo, and Jack (the dog) for two weeks and had the most wonderful experience. Not only were the truck and the places we stayed absolutely beautiful, but the atmosphere they created was incredibly warm and welcoming. Daniela and Edu are two of the kindest and generous people I’ve had the pleasure of working with, and they made the entire experience, both for me and for the guests on the truck, truly unforgettable. If you love surfing and enjoy meeting like minded, adventurous people, I can’t recommend this Workaway enough. Hope to back soon!!

Our first Workaway experience couldn’t have been better! From the very first moment, we felt warmly welcomed by Margaux and Florien, who even came to pick us up at the train station and helped us with all our luggage. It was amazing to learn about reconstruction and sustainable ways of living that help reduce our environmental impact. They are both so kind and easy-going, they cooked delicious meals for us, we celebrated Halloween together, and even shared Chilean “completos”! An unforgettable experience 🌿💛

Brylee and Jake were not only wonderful volunteers, but above all dear friends, because we truly shared the same wavelength 💫💛 They are such genuine people – full of positive energy, smiles, and understanding. Volunteers you can only dream of! 🌿✨ When it came to work, they were among those rare few who didn’t need to be told what to do, because they simply saw what needed to be done. Working with them was a real pleasure and a huge comfort 🤝💪 We miss them a lot and will always be waiting for them with open arms! 🏡❤️

What is there to say about this experience? I came to stay for 3 weeks at Klokhuis, and ended up leaving after 8 months!!! My time here far exceeded any expectations I had, and it were some of the best months of my life. As a collaboration between Klokhuis and the neighbouring farm of Boskanter (7 km apart), the tasks across these projects involved maintaining the garden, caring for animals, processing food, DIY projects, and many many many other things! I always felt at liberty to propose ideas and do things I wanted to experiment and try out, and I truly felt like every project I took on was meaningful and engaging. On top of these amazing tasks and projects, Ben, Sylvie, Kena, and Gonde (and Rex!!!!!!!!) were interesting and magnificent people, and from the start provided a warm and welcoming environment. It wasn’t just about feeling at home here — I truly felt surrounded by people who taught me so much, made me laugh every day, and inspired me with how interesting and genuine they are. I’ve learned about so many different things here — from ironwork and welding art projects to architectural design and execution, from how plants operate like intelligent beings in balancing and managing their resources to the properties of herbs and leaves used in oils, balms, and teas. Each moment taught me something new and showed me the value of staying curious and hands-on. There’s a lot lot LOT more I could share, but I’ll just say I will never forget these days and I am already looking EAGER to coming back and visit when I have the chance!

Hop is such a vibrant human being with a positive attitude and mindset. She is good with humans, animals, and plants. She is patient and passionate we were grateful for the way she picked up the plants and herbs and dried it that we are still using till now and she inspired us to do so. She’s a good hand to your project. We are looking forward to seeing her again in our farm

Miriam was a fantastic workawayer!! She was here 2 1/2 weeks, helping me mainly with carpentry work and some other stuff of fram maintenance. Although not being skilled in handing different tools she tried everything and improved pretty fast. Very motivated, never complaining, friendly and socially. You are lucky hosting here !!

It was a very pleasant 1month staying at Padma's house. The place is very quiet and peaceful, plenty of fruit trees and nice places to walk Kokoro. I was asked to help with different things around the house, a bit in the garden and also with the animals. We ate together all the meals, from the long breakfasts to light lunch and dinners. It was a very good experience and we shared a lot of good quality time. Thank you for everything Padma 😊

We spend about two weeks with Jelena and Thibaut and we really enjoyed it! Both are super nice and welcoming and they always made sure that we had enough food etc… Speaking about the food, Jelena is a great cook and the food was really good. Working one the house was overall fun but a bit tricky sometimes as there is allways something that doesn’t fit perfectly. But Thibaut is really patient in teaching us what to do and he is really fun to work with. Sadly the “workawayer car” still wasn’t fixed yet, but they offered us one of their cars to drive wich was super nice! The village Santa-Lucia-di-Mercurio is a cute little village and we did a few hikes starting from the village those were nice too. The only downside could be that it’s sometimes a bit crowded if there are multiple Workawayers but that wasnt a problem for us. So we can definitely recommend visiting Thibaut, Jelena and the kids :) (Sorry for the late Feedback)

Thank you so much dear Laura for being part of my family. It was such a pleasure to have you in our home for the very special occasion of 'Diwali ' which we celebrated together with lots of joy. We shared so many lovely, rich experience together and learnt a lot from each others. She is smart, thoughtful and very friendly. It was our pleasure to host her, She was so respectful, kind and calm. She helped me a lot in my kitchen, my shoppings in Bikaner, with animals, taking care of the kids...teaching them English etc. She tried to help milking cows and even went kite flying with our son. She is always ready for learning new skills and catches new things very quickly. We can definately recommend her to any host for sure. Laura, wishing you all the best for the rest of your traveling, You are always welcome back in our home, Thank you for your company ! Love, Nandini

I had a great time in Kelowna. I stayed with them for 4 months. I usually worked until lunch, the main task was picking fruit and pruning trees, gardening, renovating a shed and painting, organizing garage. And I had free time afternoon. I went to the beach for swimming and skimboarding sometimes. They also took me cycling in Myra Canyon Trestles, watching ice hockey game and music, a farm fair, Big White ski resort. Tony is kind and he taught me a lot of new things. He is also good at harmonica and I like watching his playing in the music bar. Tomoko is super kind and all of her meal is amazing! I really love it and I actually took picture every time. Also them daughters are so nice and cats are so cute. Scenery of Kelowna is beautiful and fruit are so good. This summer is one of my best memory. Thank you for making me feel part of the family!!

I have been fortunate to find a friend, an ally, and a partner to create and learn with on this journey. Hasan is a beautiful, generous, funny, intelligent, and adorable man. We have shared moments of play, laughter, tenderness, seriousness, and deepness. It has been extraordinary to get to know him. I believe he will have a friend in me forever, and I hope to be able to support him in his educational and creative projects. And to return to Turkey, whose hospitality, great knowledge, and amazing culture I would like to experience again. We cooked, read, studied, walked around the city, did yoga, and played. He is a very generous host, and I am truly happy to live and have certainty about values of humanity that I thought I would never find. But the value of trusting, of being able to share the intimacy of a home, one's vulnerability and humanity with a stranger and feel calm, safe, learning, is so valuable that it shows me that we must continue to love and give the best of ourselves to make the world a more beautiful place, and to be able to find others who also want to make the world a better place and build with them. Thank you for this great time in Ankara with you! Laura!!

I want to say a big thank you to Gati for welcoming me into her home with such hospitality and kindness. I’ll never forget my time in Temanggung, helping teach English to local children. With multiple classes per shift, every day was different, giving opportunity to refine and adapt your teaching skills to a variety of students. I learned a great deal about teaching due to the hands-on nature of my role, as opposed to Workaways that don't allow the freedom to lead lessons yourself. But the true highlight of my stay was just how Gati's family, and the wider community, made me feel like I belonged there, making for a beautiful experience. I really hope to return one day.

We are so grateful that Victoria decided to come spend some time with us this October here in Crete! From the moment she arrived, she brought such kindness, enthusiasm, and curiosity, it was truly a joy to have her around. In the ceramics studio, she showed great focus and creativity, learning new techniques quickly and working independently with care and confidence. We especially loved seeing the beautiful and unique pieces she created during her free time! She also made sure to put so much thought and care into keeping our home clean and organized which was very much appreciated. We got to share so many memorable moments together, relaxing afternoons at the beach, delicious meals at local tavernas, and even a little trip to see how traditional grappa is made here in Crete after the yearly grape harvest. It was wonderful to see her embrace the Cretan way of life so fully and enjoy everything the area has to offer. Thank you so much for all your help, positivity, and inspiring conversations. We feel very lucky to have met you, and you will always be warmly welcome back here in Crete whenever you like. Best wishes for all your travels!

It was great to have Sol helping in the farm, even if only for a few days. The time was short, but long enough to see Sol connecting with the landscape and the tasks she has been taking care of. Weather being not the best, we had limited amounts of duties that could be done. She meticulously planted seedlings of winter crops, and labelled them with great care. She was mindful in offering support to my mom, helping processing some boletus the land gifted us. She respected the house rules and has been discreet, tidy and clean. Thanks for your help and wonderful vibe Sol!

It was a true pleasure and privilege hosting Joelma in our home this October. She is a kind, considerate person, always ready to help out wherever needed, both around the studio and our home - which was always shining because of all the care and effort she put into making it look so beautiful throughout her stay! We had so many interesting conversations together and fun times at our small trips. She quickly became a part of the daily rhythm here, making sure to approach every task with care and a great attitude. We really appreciated her genuine interest in learning and her thoughtful, positive presence during her time here. We’re so grateful for all of your help and all the memories we made together in our home here up in the mountains. We would happily recommend her to any future hosts on here and let you know that you would be very lucky to have her! You’re always welcome to visit us here again, best wishes for all your adventures.
