Christien is a wonderful volunteer! He taught Spanish with great passion and professionalism. His students really enjoyed his teaching style — clear, engaging, and motivating. Even the administrative staff at our center deeply appreciated his positive attitude and dedication. We highly recommend him to any host. It was truly a pleasure to have him with us!

I stayed with Ray for... a month? A month and a half? I had the most amazing first workaway experience there. The scenery was so beautiful, I loved going on morning walks with Sibbi. There was always something to do, which I loved, and I learned so much. I think I formed a precious bond with the cats. I am so grateful for this experience, it definitely has left me with many lovely memories.

I loved this workaway! Sam is a really cool and kind host and as he‘s a marine engineer and knows, what he is doing, I learned a lot about repairing boats (and all the stuff that can break haha). At first we spent some time in the marina, working on the boat and fixing stuff and afterwards went on a sailing trip to San Blas. The boat itself is beautiful, even if it‘s a bit older, and sailing it is very nice! I had a great time helping repairing and of course doing a really beautiful trip to San Blas Islands, having a lot of fun and meeting many interesting people. Thank you Sam for these amazing two weeks, I will come back for sure!!

As a part of my university project, I went to Netherlands. and seeing these guys and profile made me think this can be a project that i would like and would stay in my memory. we got to know each other through a facetime, and shortly after that i visited them. it was for a short film idea but when i visited them, i saw 4 nice people that they live in a nice costumized place. we cooked together, laughed, playied music with Yentl and Lard, had a walking with Christy to the woods, and then a walking night with All of us, (Arnold,Christy,Yentl,Lars, and two other workawayers (that we met there and created memories all together). nights full of talks and listening to stories of our life. the last night we showed a short film that we worked on. It was a great memory spending time with these guys, and they are always welcome to the place that i live any time sooner or later. can be Poland(Now), or Kurdistan(my homeland) . Thanks for being kind and nice human, see you somewhere in this world.

Ania has a beautiful personality in addition to her lovely looks. She not only looked after my naughty furbabies, she helped keeping my father company while I was having a small procedure in hospital. She cooked a fabulous polish meal for us all, yum yum. When Hachiko had diarrhoea Ania woke up a few times in the middle of the night to take him out. Even though Ania is not a morning person, she always manage her early morning walks with cheer and even when Hachiko disturbed her when sleeping she never once complained! So sweet in her nature she always offered to help out and even when she was out she made a point of coming back on time to walk the babies. She is entertaining as well, good conversationist and good company. Thank you Ania for your help company and bringing cheer to our home. Happy travels and stay safe always. Please visit us whenever you are in Kuala Lumpur

Milan stayed with us in Taltal for four weeks, and it was an absolute pleasure to have him! He’s super clean, tidy, and friendly — someone who always knows what to do and say. At home, he was very helpful, respectful, and always grateful for everything. At work, Milan was a fantastic teacher assistant. The kids loved him — he was patient, fun, and full of positive energy. He connected with them easily and made every activity more enjoyable. We really recommend hosting Milan without any hesitation. Thanks, Milan, for sharing your time and good vibes with us!

I stayed with Tom, Claire, Ellie, Casey, and Tom Óg for twelve weeks and had a wonderful time. It was my first time traveling on my own and working as an au pair, but thanks to the family’s kindness and patience, I felt very welcome from the very first day. I learned so much and made so many great memories and experiences. The work expected (childminding and household tasks) is more than fair and very clearly communicated and structured. The kids are really well-mannered and funny, and it was a pleasure to spend time with them. Claire and Tom were very supportive and communicative, which helped me improve my language skills. And by the way, their cooking is absolutely amazing! I also met many other family members and friends, all of whom I absolutely loved. Thanks to plenty of free time, I was able to explore beautiful West Cork with all its towns, villages, and hiking trails. I had the time of my life and cannot thank this family enough for that.

Absolutely loved my time with them in Vienna! Very accommodating with finding times for me to tutor the girls while still having time for me to explore the city and have time to myself. The girls are hilarious and great kids, I wish I could've stayed longer!

Good place if you are looking for something really far away from everything. I thought I could take 2 days off in a raw to visit the country around, but as long as they usually don't drive on Saturday, and try to avoid the maximum activities during saturday, if you don't have your own way to travel, it's a bit complicated. Ursula is a very hearty woman who takes care of people around her. She speaks a lot of languages. I thought I could learn more about Portuguese language but we always ended up talking english or french. I did a lot of gardening, I was expecting maybe more activities like building or renovation work. I was a bit disappointed that I never could cook my own food. It was a good first experiment. Thank you for welcoming me.

Volunteering here has been one of the most special and inspiring experiences of my travels. From day one, I felt incredibly welcome and comfortable living with Eliyan, her husband Puji and their lovely family. My room was simple but cozy, the food was great and I quickly felt at home in their warm and open atmosphere surrounded by twenty friendly cats. I was positively surprised to see that the foundation does so much more than just running the EcoSchool. They support the local community in so many ways from education and environmental projects to health programs and village activities. On Indonesia Independence Day I joined them for a special event in a local village which was such a beautiful experience. I also learned a lot about Indonesian life, culture and all the funny little facts and habits that make it so unique. What I really appreciate is that they take the time to look at you as a volunteer, your background, your skills and how you can contribute in your own way. They are genuinely open to new ideas and perspectives. With my background in branding I could help them think about their mission, partnerships and online presence, and I also gave a yoga class to the team which was such a fun and connecting moment. A special shout out to Eliyan, who is one of the most caring, dedicated and inspiring people I have met. She carries a lot on her shoulders yet remains endlessly kind, positive and grounded. We had many open and heartfelt conversations that I will always remember. Together with Puji she creates a home full of warmth and laughter. The whole team is wonderful too, so open minded and enthusiastic, and it was a real joy to work with them. I am truly grateful for this experience and have so much admiration for the amazing work Eliyan, Puji and the foundations' team are doing. Terima kasih, the foundation's family, you are making a real difference. 🌿💛

Janira is someone you can always rely on, she's equally adept at support and action. She provides wonderful support when you need to discuss thoughts and gain clarity, and she's a truly helpful hand when it's time to get things done. She is a joyful soul, eager to learn, and willing to try even the most difficult tasks. Though she will come for multiple short stays, the time I spent with her was great, as she dedicates 100% of her energy to the project. She is definitely a "vitamin person" that I recommend hosting!

I stayed with this family in January and February this year, and I finally got around to writing a review. Isabella is a very hard working, kind woman who very clearly puts her family first. She works fulltime, cooks lunch and dinner for her children and husband every day and is very engaged with how the children are doing. Ricardo is a very sweet man who is passionate about sharing his stories about Rome. Bianca and Maria-Antonietta are both very intelligent and polite girls. The everyday life can be a bit hectic, and sometimes the girls were under quite some stress of school, their sports and the constant rotation of au-pairs, but in the end we got to know each other and built a personal bond of trust. The work is not a lot, picking the girls up from school and bringing them to the swimming pool, and keeping the kitchen tidy. Isabella and Ricardo are very open to and curious for feedback in case there is anything that is bothering you. I want to thank all four of you for a very special time in Rome, where I learned a lot and was welcomed into a very Italian household! Un abraccio per le ragazze! Sinceramente, Ronja

I had a wonderful time at the Ashram. Everyone I was so friendly and accommodating. It really was a magical time. For tasks, I helped in the garden some days and others I helped in the kitchen with dish washing. I also cleaned the main temple room and assisted with decorating for some of the festivities that took place during my stay. This stay was a wonderful workaway and I hope to make it back someday for another visit! Thank you 🙏🏻 Hare Krishna!

We had an awesome time on Penghu with Ted and his family! Even though we caught the start of windy season, we still had loads of fun. The work is varied and all goes towards helping Ted build and maintain his sustainable home. Kaylen (their daughter) is also a great little helper. We had lots of fun down at the beach bar too, and even got to experience the bars' epic Halloween party. Also two super friendly dogs and 2 cats to show some love. Shao mei was also really great accommodating us as vegetarian/vegan. We got to stay in the "old house" which is in the town, next to 7/11, with a washing machine and a great kitchen. Very nice after travelling so long! Thank you guys so much for the experience.

Alex’s timing in phoning me on arrival was perfect as my shed was finally finished and I needed some help. He did a meticulous (artistic hand helped I think) job of silicone/gap filling the base of the shed where the vermin barrier was letting insects in. My pump stopped working on a Saturday so we went and bought a new one and I now finally have it positioned so I can have more powerful water for the garden as well as the THOW. Alex made a lovely base for it to attach to, very professional, not like my first pump. Alex worked longer than expected so he could finish the job. I enjoyed the evening chats on varied topics like health including fasting and using plants for healing cuts etc. Thanks and best wishes for your next adventures.

I am very grateful to have found my way to Jasper and Nynke's farm. Since my family runs a cheese dairy ourselves, there were many opportunities to exchange experiences and learn new things. Riding with Jasper in the forest was also a lot of fun, as you can lean alot from his unconventional skills and he gives you the trust to find your way to do the work. I learned a lot from Nynke's creativity and I appreciate her openness to sharing recipes. Most of my time I spend with Julia at the cheese dairy and I found a wonderful friend in her! From baking brownies and making ice cream to taking a whey shower together it was always fun and varied. In my free time, I was able to explore the countless hiking trails on the island, and I was allowed to borrow the car whenever I needed. Things got especially fun when the pizzeria reopened, and I was initiated into the secred of how to make the world best pizza around. Always accompanied by reggae music, good vibes, some high fives and sometimes a shared pizza on the sunny terrace after work. Thank you so much for the precious memories and for welcoming me so warmly! I hope we'll see each other again sometime in the future! Sending you big hugs and see yo somewhen, somewhre on the way!

From the second I arrived at here, it was like coming home. I really enjoyed being a part of the community at Andrea's place and would certainly volunteer there again. Jobs were mainly focused around keeping the rented accommodation clean and tidy and to a high standard. Waking up to that view, to Skippa and Yoko will never get old. Also really enjoyed Andrea's super Germanness and the variety of people that came through to stay there. Volver!! Bx
