I stayed for a month with Kathryn, she is a very sweet and friendly person, you will have the opportunity to meet many locals and surely improve your skills if English is not your native language. The house is very beautiful and the hikes around it are really magnificent. If you like cats and dogs you're in the right place! I just have an advice, you should have a car because there is no bus and you can't walk to the city. Even if Kathryn can take you sometimes in and take you (if you want) with her when she go in the city. Thank you so much for these moments together Kathryn and see you soon !

I stayed with Heather and Phil for a week and a half and it was truly an amazing experience! From the moment I arrived, they welcomed me like part of the family. Heather cooked delicious meals full of love, and Phil shared so much knowledge about all kinds of mechanical and practical things (and funny stories too!). They are both so generous and thoughtful, always ready to help, to teach, and to share a good laugh. Their home is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by stunning nature, and it’s such a peaceful place to recharge. During my stay, I helped with gardening, verandah maintenance, painting, and a few other projects. I did things I had never done before, like driving digging machines, transporting stones and even how to source water underground (yes, you read that right). So funny! Between the great conversations, the meals we shared, and the moments exploring the area, I learned so much and felt incredibly grateful to be there! I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a genuine and friendly Workaway experience!

Well, where do I start! Leon was a joy to host. They brought so much fun and enthusiasm into our household and family. We will stay friends forever. Helpful, courteous, respectful, kind, and a hard worker. Can highly recommend Leon.

Nos quedamos una semana con Luis y su familia. Nos sentimos muy cómodos desde el principio, pasar tiempo con la familia siempre fue entretenido y placentero. Ellos siempre están pendientes de que te alimentes y te acogen como parte de la familia. Les ayudamos con contenido audiovisual para redes sociales y sugerencias acerca del lindo hotel boutique que tienen. Nos dieron una habitación privada con baño interno con una vista inigualable. Fue un placer haber pasado por El Cedro Soñado, fue de ensueño.

Ich war eine Woche bei Astrid und Christian und es war echt richtig toll. Beide sind mega nett, aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Ich habe mich direkt sehr wohl gefühlt und man konnte oft sehr interessante und lustige Gespräche führen. Die täglichen Aufgaben bestanden darin die Hühner morgens zu füttern, Wasser zu geben und den Kot wegzumachen sowie die Außenküche und den Pool sauber zu halten (sprich fegen, Flächen abwischen und keschern). Außerdem sollte die Pferdekoppel abgeäppelt werden und der Wasserbehälter der Pferde gesäubert und neu aufgefüllt werden. Zudem hab ich Maxi an ein paar Tagen bei Schulaufgaben geholfen. Somit waren Tagesaufgaben also gut überschaubar und schnell erledigt. Das Essen von Astrid war auch wirklich hammermäßig. Es gab immer selbstgebackene Brötchen oder Brot mit selbstgemachter Marmelade oder Aufstrich zum Frühstück und abends hat sie für alle gekocht. Sie hat sich gefühlt jeden Abend übertroffen, also es war echt richtig richtig lecker. Und was noch toller war, war, dass ich gesagt hatte, dass ich gerne Schninken, Mozarella und Joghurt zum Frühstück esse, woraufhin sie mir das dann gekauft hat. Das hatte ich wirklich gar nicht erwartet. Zudem ist gerade Plätzchenbackzeit und ich durfte immer mal wieder die neueste Sorte Plätzchen probieren. Sie waren zwar sehr süß aber echt schmackhaft. Mein Häuschen war ebenfalls super. Das Bett ist gemütlich und man hat sogar ein eigenes Bad. Das ist wirklich geisteskrank. Alle Tiere dort sind wirklich toll und Loki das kleine Äffchen ist mir am meisten ans Herz gewachsen. Ingesamt war es so eine schöne Zeit, für die ich sehr dankbar bin!

My stay with Kelsey and Kurtis was nothing but absolutely fantastic! I had so much fun hanging out with them and the boys. It was great to experience life in Canada away from the cities and to be around such a wonderful family. My highlights of the stay were definitely going to watch the local hockey, going to karaoke night on Halloween, being shown around the property by their toddler, hanging out with the dogs, and having dinner with the family which provided such a fun blend of thoughtful, engaging conversation and hilarious toddler antics. The dinners which Kelsey cook up are worth the visit by themselves, and the way that so much of the food is either produced on the property or farmed locally makes every meal special. All in all I really enjoyed my stay, and I recommend them wholeheartedly.

Thanks a ton to Juan and the family for the warmest welcome! As our first Workaway experience, this couldn't have been a better choice. First, the spot was like tranquility heaven, meditative peace. A very welcomed change of pace from the city. Secondly, Juan and his team were more than comprehensive on the work they asked us to do. It was very reasonable, varied, respected our personal limits and most of all, they showed a built-in trust. The accommodation were perfect for sleeping: they even gave us mosquitoes net! As for the meals, yes there's a cost to it, but Juan was so generous, really cared about our enjoyment and really took the time to cook us different meals every time. It was authentic, delicious and very humbling to watch them in their environment. I only wish we could've shared more meals with him, but eh! Shyness is no sin! Finally, this experience really made me want to do it again in another place and time! So the warmest THANK YOU to all the people involved in getting us hooked to the Workaway lifestyle! Truly enjoyed having Dreza,!!! we worked in the country and she helped around the house...she communicated well and was so pleasant . I hope we can meet again ,Her sweetheart cooked a great dinner , hope to see them both in the future.

Alex stayed with us for almost four weeks, and it was truly a great experience having him here. He’s a super friendly, positive, and polite person with amazing energy. Always motivated, ambitious, and smart, Alex approaches every task with care and enthusiasm. He helped us with various construction and building projects, as well as with practical tasks like moving mattresses 😊and organizing things around the house. He was always reliable, hardworking, and fun to have around. It was a real pleasure to host him — we would absolutely recommend Alex to any future hosts and would be happy to welcome him back anytime!

Matteo and Lea….two angels. After them I revalue a lot the workawayers experience, hope to find in my future path many people like them and hope to find as neighbors somebody like them !! Have a wonderful life guys, you deserve it.

Anna stayed with us for just over a month. She is very quiet and helpful. She helped to prepare dinner and offered to help me whenever I needed it. She even tried very patiently to teach me some of her language. She did a lot of outdoor work, gardening, putting away stones and wood, bringing in firewood. She also cleaned the car and some rooms in the house. She had no problem helping out wherever she was needed. Luckily she was able to come with me on a lot of trips to go sightseeing. Pietro came all the way from Italy just to attend an iconic red rocks concert. He was only with me a few nights, but in that short time, he created two fantastic authentic Italian dishes , a pasta dish and his moms tiramisu. He was kind, thoughtful, respectful, and if he ever comes back to Colorado, he has a place to stay. Good luck with your travels. Keep in touch.

I had a great time with Tabitha, opening a pop up store/ Gallery for her art works and antiques collections in the center of the village. She is creative and energetic and she shares a lot of her knowledge and experiences. We bonded well and remain in touch. I hope to revisit those places again, the high Pyrenees mountains and the sea. Tia and Eyal hosted me and another workawayer for two weeks in October 2025. I really enjoyed the time at their house in the little town of Maubourguet. The aim of my first workaway experience was to improve my English, to get out of my comfortzone and, of course, to engage in cultural exchange. Tia and Eyal fulfilled this plan! We watched some movies, series, clips or political shows together, talked about various topics during/after work and played some board games together! Tia and Eyal’s daily routine is really structured and organised, they know which tasks need to be done and guide you through the day. They explain the exercises in detail and are always open to questions. The yoga-sessions in the morning, which we were allowed to participate in, are perfect to experience the incredible sunrises above the Pyrénées mountains. Their dog Louvabelle and their two cats Caramell and Magic make it even better.🥰 Our actual work in October included gardening (pruning trees, weeding, brushing and chopping wood for the fireplace), ironing, folding clothes, washing and cooking. To share these exercises with another workawayer/with Tia and Eyal made the time fly by! For other workawayers who are interested in the mountains I can highly recommend to combine the stay with a hike in the Pyrénées. Tia and Eyal gave us the opportunity to work a bit longer from Monday to Thursday to get the Friday off. They helped us with our research for the trip, recommended several places in the region and even gave us a lift to Maubourguet/Tarbes to make our trip from Friday to Sunday happen! Overall our workaway-relationship was based on trust, direct communication and a warm atmosphere. Therefore I definitely recommend this stay, especially for workawayers who are travelling with workaway for the first time!

Maria was awesome to have around. She had such a positive, can-do attitude and was always happy to jump in wherever help was needed, dog walking, grooming, anything. She really cared about the dogs and the team, and her effort made a big difference. We really appreciated everything she did and would definitely recommend her to other hosts.

This place was magic. The house is situated at a high altitude, surrounded by mountains like an amphitheater, overlooking the sea. The work in the garden was sometimes challenging and also satisfying. There were new things that I learned regarding garden work. I felt part of a team together with the other workaways, and there was a lot of socializing during meals, playing games, travelling. Brigitte cooked delicious french cuisine. Estelle brought a level of expertise in dog training that we rarely see. Her skill, patience, and insight made a huge impact, particularly with one of our most challenging dogs, whose temperament improved massively under her guidance. She not only helped the dogs, but taught us so much in the process. Her contribution will have a lasting positive effect at the shelter. We’re so grateful for her time here and would absolutely recommend her to any host.
