We enjoyed a lovely month - it's such an amazing place!! Everybody was super nice and we really enjoyed helping with the guests, cooking and reception work. As experienced horse riders we got a lot of chances to join daily rides and a trip to Lesotho which was a once in a lifetime experience! Thank you so much!! For sure one of the most remarkable stays ever :)

If I had to describe my two weeks with Siscu, Mar and Elsa in one word it would be Fenomenal! Thank you so much for having me as a workaway. You are a wonderful family. I really enjoyed my stay and learned many new skills while having a great time together. Everyday was a pleasure to spend with you. You live in a beautiful place with tranquil surroundings. I would highly recommend being a workaway at Villa de Gracia to other people looking for cultural exchange, delicious food, interesting conversations and a wonderful family to stay with. Rie-san est une hôte très amicale et accueillante, elle nous a aidé à pleins d'égards et à su nous mettre à l'aise rapidement. Nous avons adoré passer du temps à Mamihara et ses alentours sublimes. Les personnes du village sont également toutes très gentilles et chaleureuses. La communication a toujours été fluide avec Rie et nous avons eu la chance de partager plusieurs moments ensemble : trampoline, déjeuner, visite... Notre travail à principalement consisté à préparer un événement avec des élèves et la réalisation de petites pièces de bois artisanales (travail du bois et gravure) ainsi que la gestion de la guesthouse (ménage, préparation des chambres...). Encore merci beaucoup pour cette semaine, on a passé un très bon moment.

Josie came to stay with us just at the right moment, during our annual horse camp. She was an awesome team member with our staff and other helpers, especially sharing her great teamwork tactics in our daily team meetings. Josie is a professional adventure guide and knew a lot about our business so she was able to help without much training. We had a lovely time and living together was easy and fun. She was great with kids and the horses as well.

Marta embarked on her adventures in Australia, coming from a very different part of the world…arriving here in SEQ for some incredibly lively weather…unseasonably hot days, dramatic electrical storms, and she managed really well. We enjoyed meals together, a few local outings, and she really helped me with some tasks in the house & garden., and was always kind and willing. We wish her well for the rest of the trip &further adventures.

Such a lovely family :) Sweetest pets and I had such a great experience. I was only there for about a week, but they made me feel so welcome into such a nice home.

This is was one of the best experiences of my life! It was the first time i ever travelled by myself, and Megumi-san and her family made med feel so welcome and safe. Megumi-san is the kindest and funniest host ever. You have more of a friend relationship to her, rather than a boss/worker relationship, which i really enjoyed. She is really good at making sure you are comfortable, and she goes out of her way to make you have a good time in their home🫶🏼 Spending time with the kids brought me so much joy and i was so sad to leave. I miss them dearly but i will always cherish my time with them. Silly Miku, Clever Sora and Crazy Sera hold a really special place in my heart. Thank you for a month i will always remember, and i hope to be back someday❤️ I can't recommend this workaway experience more! They're the best

We had a truly wonderful experience volunteering at the dog shelter. The dogs are so well taken care of, and it was heartwarming to be part of something that genuinely makes a difference. We were very happy with the accommodation we stayed in the Riverhouse, which had spacious rooms and a beautiful surrounding area with some lovely dogs living nearby. It’s important to mention that having a scooter is quite essential, as the place is a bit far from everything. There weren’t always enough scooters for everyone, but we managed fine since we were two people sharing one. Communication with Tanja wasn’t always smooth, and at times she could come across quite strong. However, we understand how much responsibility comes with managing so many animals and volunteers. Overall, we would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone who loves dogs it’s truly a rewarding and meaningful place to volunteer.

I host Giulia for a week, I was quite busy with my work, Giulia was very helpful and we spent time together speak in Italian, talking about our workaway and travel stories explore night market together. I enjoyed a lot, she was also very patient with teaching me Italian. Giulia is absolutely a great workawayer! Thank you so much Giulia, you are always welcome to be back anytime:)

Firstly, the photos don’t even begin to do the place justice. Simply put, the area is breathtaking. But as the saying goes, “it’s not the place, it’s the people…” It was truly an honor to get to share in this lovely community. I came here during an admittedly difficult transition point in my life, and I’m glad to say I found exactly what I was looking for. If you’re looking for beautiful nature, delicious food, wonderfully annoying pets (I miss you dearly Greta), and meaningful connection with interesting people from all over the world – then run, don’t walk to Bosco Alto. Thank you for your hospitality, Gilberto. Wishing you all the best :)

Vic and Matt, along with their two lovely girls, were an absolute joy to host on our farm. From the moment they arrived, they brought great energy, knowledge, and initiative. They quickly understood what needed to be done and got straight into it, productive, efficient, and always with a positive attitude. Their skills and experience were clear in everything they did, from farm maintenance and gardening to general problem-solving. They worked hard, were thoughtful about how to make tasks easier or more effective, and were completely reliable. On top of that, they’re genuinely kind, respectful people who were a pleasure to share space with. Their girls were polite, curious, and lots of fun. We’re really grateful for all their help and would welcome them back anytime — highly recommended to any future hosts!

I spent an amazing week with Gati and was welcomed into her home and her family. I spent about 3 hours a day teaching children alongside different local teachers who helped with translation, each day was a different schedule with new kids so I met a lot of people in a short time. The area is very quiet but you can take cheap buses to nearby towns to explore, or ask Gati to travel with her motorbike (it is very cheap to rent your own also). It was a great experience and would highly recommend this to everyone, thank you Gati!

We hosted Anna-Lena and Justus for 2 and a half weeks. They were lovely guests and worked diligently on the tasks that were set for them. They were very clean and tidy and respectful. Enjoy the rest of your travels...

Tommy & Alice first contacted us in June 25, but due to prior commitments we were unable to accommodate their timeslot. They took a long shot for a second chance in October 25 as they were leaving Australia, and we are glad they did. It coincided with another couple of workaways, which opened some opportunities for us to tackle some bigger tasks that required a team. Some tasks they completed include, interior house painting, relocation of scaffold timber storage, planting trees, running -500 metres of pipeline, fitting off a dozen poly connections, dismantling of a timber deck and clearing up fallen timber debris. All tasks were approached with enthusiasm and were completed without any fuss. We had a full house for a while with two workaway couples overlapping for a period. This made for interesting diner table conversations and opened up competition with Australia vs UK vs France in board games. Fun times were enjoyed by all. Tommy and Alice were really great to have onboard the team and we greatly appreciate the contribution they have made. They a welcome here anytime should they return to Brisbane.

I started my time in South America by staying at Luisa's, Rodos (and little Antonia's 🐈 ) place. I couldn't have asked for a more caring and better host! They really helped me to learn my first words in Spanish and Rodo tought me a lot about construction. I was always free to take time off if I wanted but stayed and laughed a lot wit them during my week. Thank you so much for this amazing week, and "see you later" 😉🤗🫶🏻
