We had the pleasure of having Luz and Friederike helping us just for a few days, as they passed in our land on their bicycle trip to Istanbul. We usually do not accept volunteers for such short stays , but we had a very nice impression from their pictures and message and generally like who travel this way, so we made and exception , and we could not be more happy about it ! They are super nice people, very easy to communicate with and clear, always ready to help, really hard workers and fun to be with ! They enjoyed working and making things well ( we ve been cutting down some summer crops and planting the garden beds with green covers for the winter, plus adding a good layer of manure to the beds) and even in such a short time they were able to give a great contribution to our project . We would definitely recommend them to any host, and really hope they will come again for a longer time !

Vanessa loves to discover different lifestyle and culture by joining to local family life in nature area. Then we shared our Ger home to her in 4-6th Nov. 2025 to make our very well or naturally organized 772nd hosting experience or living together with licking personal copper bowl and cooking at home. We want to meet again with her or her village 80 people by telling our "#MongoliaFriend Vanessa from Germany" travel story.

I enjoyed having Tiana and Najdat with me for two weeks. They are hard working, friendly and cheerful, great at cooking and baking, and just so much fun to have round. We were playing together in the evenings, watching films as well as just talking a lot. My cats and I are already missing them a lot! Please come back next summer! :)

Anna stayed with our family in Montréal for two months, and she instantly became part of the family. She’s super sweet, mature, and such a pleasant person to have around. She helped us so much with daily life — from house chores and meal prep to keeping our two young kids entertained and happy (they absolutely adored her and gave her several nicknames, including “Una” ❤️). She’s also a lot of fun! We played board games together she’s really good at them, though I’m happy to say I won the last one 😉. We went on hikes, spent weekends at a cottage, and shared lots of laughter and good conversations. Anna also took the initiative to start learning French during her stay, which really shows her curiosity and openness. She’s reliable, independent, and always willing to help with a smile. If you’re considering hosting Anna, don’t hesitate — she’s one of those people who truly make a house feel brighter. We all miss her already!

Jodie and Andrew were just adorable! They gave us clear instructions on the work they expected from us and let us choose when we would work. They gave us an amazing amount of tasty food and let us pick fruit and veggies from their garden. The cabin we stayed in was nice and comfy and the common area we shared with other workawayers was convenient and spacious. Jodie regularly cooked us some awesome diner and drove us around when she could. When we needed to buy a car, Andrew (used to be a mechanic) gave us advice, drove us an hour away, check and negotiated the car for us. They even left us come back last minute after some unexpected changes in our plans and gave us time to find somewhere else to go. They were very welcoming and always had a fun story to share. Their garden is beautiful and full of life (from ducks and guinea fowl to wallabies) and a pleasure to work in. Overall it's been an amazing experience and we both wished we could have stayed longer. It's one of the best workaway we've ever done and we're very grateful for all their help! Would recommend to anyone!

I don’t even know where to begin. Siri is one of the kindest, most genuine, generous, and caring people I’ve ever met. She’s truly a rare soul — sweet, honest, and full of love. My time here has been nothing short of wonderful. I taught English and computer lessons to the kids, and it was such a rewarding experience. During my free time, Siri made sure I got to see and experience the best of the town — from the nicest places to visit to the best spots to eat. Sometimes we’d go by car, other times by bike, and every trip was filled with laughter and good conversations. The town itself is small and peaceful, with hardly any tourists, which made the experience even more special. We spent long hours talking about so many things, and I truly felt at home here. Siri’s generosity touched me deeply — she even paid for my bus tickets, something very uncommon for a host. That small gesture said so much about the kind of person she is. I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone to spend time in this lovely place and with such a wonderful person. I already miss you, Siri, and I truly hope to come back again someday. Thank you so much for everything, and for hosting me with so much warmth and care.

Michael is amazing! I had a wonderful stay here. The work is varied and Michael is a really nice guy, even took my out for breakfast on my first morning. There is a car available to use, you cook together and the accomodation is amazing. It is basic but has everything you need and I had a whole place with a bathroom and kitchen to myself. Great little quiet getaway. I was planning on staying for a while but I had to fly back home due to a family emergency. Would have loved to have stayed for longer. Thank you Michael - highly recommend!

Oh my goodness, we loved having Job & Lena. They were both super capable and happy to throw their hands into anything. Cattle work, bull feeding, painting, keeping animals fed & watered, you name it they were up for it. On their last night they cooked us an amazing dinner. We miss them. Adrian sends many baaas!!

Luise and Flo were amazing and I had such a lovely time with them in October! They were with me only a short time but in that time we managed to do so much together. They are hard working, polite, and I'm happy to recommend them to any future hosts. Also, they are always welcome back to Hämeenlinna. Vielen Dank!

I had a lovely time at Mr. Bahrul’s school. We visited his English class for a morning and did a fun language and culture exchange with the students—they were so kind and curious. In the afternoon, Bahrul showed us around Magelang and taught us a lot about Javanese culture. He’s warm, easy to talk to, and very thoughtful. I highly recommend meeting him and his students. Thank you, Bahrul!

My stay here was my first work away ever. I immediately felt welcomed and at also quite at home in his lovely apartment reserved exclusively for myself and another workawayer. Everything I needed was provided. I spent each day working mostly in the gardens; turning over and also weeding several flower and vegetable beds, moving raised beds, splitting wood and then stacking it, ( thanks to the immense help of a wood splitter, of course!). All of the outerwear gear and tools we needed were always high quality and provided, for a smoother day, especially the cool, windy and/or rainy ones! Coming in for a beautiful and incredibly delicious gourmet meal each day was a high point for me! Pal's creative, cooking and keen palete was like magic and always appreciated after a good hard work stretch every day. He kindly provided a vegetarian entrée for me each meal as well as the occasional meat or fish for the rest. He even made a special meal on my birthday, by surprise. I felt so treated! Dinner conversations were always interesting as we each shared our thoughts and feelings about life and the values of the culture we were living or raised in. These moments always gave me plenty to reflect on during my days with Pal. unfortunately, Padris and I only crossed paths for a morning as she was away for most of my stay. I highly recommend a Workaway with them and I'm grateful for giving me giving me the best first experience with Workaway!

Wesley stayed with me for around 10 days, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! He handled most of my photoshoots and even covered an event I held in Penang, delivering good results. Beyond his skills, he’s a fantastic cook, funny, reliable, and an interesting person to spend time with. We shared meals and enjoyable moments together, making the stay even more pleasant. I would happily host Wes again anytime and highly recommend him to other hosts!

I spent two weeks with Stefan, Julia, Alicia and another Workawayer in the south of France and had a really nice time. Julia and Stefan are very interesting and fun people who are great to be around. We went on some nice trips and explored the area together. Stefan showed me a nice running route and introduced me to yoga. Playing with Alicia and taking care of her was always so much fun — she’s such an energetic, funny, and sweet baby. I already miss her! Thank you for the lovely time, and all the best to you! 🌞

Stephane est venu très spontanément le jour même avec son bon humeur et un esprit ouvert. Il était très agréable à vivre. Grace à lui j’ai du bois de chauffage fondu et rangé à l’abri de la pluie. Merci beaucoup ! Il est passionné de la musique et joue très bien la guitare. Nous avons même pu faire des petits impro ensemble. Nous avons eu quelques difficultés de trouver un rythme commun pour la journée mais il était très ouvert et serein pour en parler et trouver une solution. Bonne suite pour tes prochains aventures!

We had a great time together with Doug and Poose Poose ( his wonderful cat )! He showed us beautiful places around Atherton and was open to give us some information about all the places he showed us. He is a really kind and funny person to be around with. We really enjoyed playing "Bugga" with him :)

The home of Celeste and Craig was our first stop after arriving in Auckland, and what an experience it was. They made us feel as a part of the family since the first day, giving us a TOP kiwi cultural experience. We're deeply grateful that you have welcomed us into your home. Thanks, thanks, thanks!! Lisa is an amazing person with a great personality she fitted in straight away with our family and was very eager to learn anything and everything she could. She was amazing with the kids who still ask when is she coming back. Lisa spent 2 weeks with us but has made an impact on our family and will not be forgotten.

Was a great time with these guys they fit into the family well and was easy to communicate with. They are really nice people and we wish them well in their journey

To come to Anne’s place was the best decision I could’ve made for my first workaway stay. Anne, Jan and the kids are truly amazing people. Open, heartwarming and incredibly funny. Had so many good laughs with all of them. The everyday work is a lot, but Anne always makes sure that you’re okay with it and gives a good balance with other activities. I was lucky and could join rides, drives and walks with the dog and horses in the beautiful forests around the farm. Anne and I went mushroom picking, which was really fun. We always had so delicious dinners and I will definitely try out some of the recipes. Especially the great pumpkin pie! I made so many great memories in these two months of my stay and couldn’t be happier to have found such wonderful people. Thank you so so much for having me, I will come back in summer🌻
