We are Marianne and Joona, a couple in their 30s, who are running a cozy guesthouse in Koli National Park, in the eastern part of Finland. Our guesthouse is located on Mattila farm, one of the oldest farms in Koli - once an abandoned haunted house and now a lively hidden pearl surrounded by the old forest of the national park. We want to offer our guests a warm-hearted accommodation experience accompanied with tasty and colourful vegetarian food, silence of nature and simplicity of the Finnish countryside life.

Since we are operating on a traditional Finnish farm and countryside house with a lot of history, the travellers will learn a lot about the traditional way of living in the Finnish countryside. Koli is a unique spot in Finland, with an extraordinary nature and a long history as a holy place in the Finnish folk belief. Depending on the season, travellers will also learn how to use products from the garden/ Finnish forest.

We need help in every day chores of the guesthouse: we grow a lot of different kind of herbs and vegetables in our garden, so we need help with the gardening in June. We also need help in taking care of the summer cows and chicken, preparing breakfast, warming up the sauna and cleaning the rooms/ common areas.

Travellers will sleep in an old barn next to the house, where we have prepared beds and mosquito nets for them. If the weather is poor, we have a guest room/ space next to our employee's room where travellers can stay.
Koli National Park starts just behind the house (:)) so travellers can go and explore the park on their free-time. We will give the best tips and our own favourites for the local sights and activities.
