  We are a family of four with a girl aged 9 and a boy aged 5.
  We are a very friendly, fun family and love having visitors.
  
  We are looking for a native English speaker to stay with us - mostly to speak English to the kids and look after them.
  If you are keen, you can also help around the house and garden and do some cooking.
  
  We speak English and German at home and you would also be able to improve your German:)
  As we both work full-time, it would be great to have someone to pick up the kids from kindergarden/school
  and look after them a couple of evenings a week - this would take about 20-25h/week.
  We would only ask you occasionally to work weekends.
  
  You can stay from 2 weeks to 6 months - if you decide to stay longer, we would be willing to give you a proper contract as an au-pair (which includes free food and accommodation as well as holidays) where you get paid pocket money and also also provide you with a ticket for public transport in the area.
  We can go half on any expenses for language classes (which are available in Rostock, about 20 min away).
  
  Also, we could help you find a placement at our local school or kindergarden, or even do some volunteering with a charity in Rostock (working with refugees, in a charity shop, environmental education projects for schools etc) - if you are interested, let us know and will see what options there are (they will depend on your level of German).
  
  We live in a small town close to Rostock (train and bus connections), and only about 10km from the Baltic Sea.
  It is about 2-3h to Berlin and Hamburg, a Flixbus connections to Kopenhagen (about 5h) and ferry connections to Denmark and Sweden.

  You will be living with us a part of our family - you will be learning about German language, culture and food.
  
  Also, if you interested in a placement or volunteering, you will be able to see how schools/kindergardens/charities are run in Germany and pick up lots of new skills.

  We are looking for a native English speaker - mainly to speak English to the kids and look after them.
  
  It would be great if you had previous experience with babysitting or younger siblings, but it is not essential.
  It is more important for you to be an open, friendly and reliable person.
  
  A basic level of German would best as we live in a small town and English is not spoken by everyone, e.g. in shops etc.

  You will have your own bedroom.
  There a spare bathroom with a shower which is your's -
  but you will need to share it with any visitors coming to the house.
  
  We would like you to share our meals and also cook from time to time, but obviously that is up to you.
  We always prepare a vegetarian option with any meal, and could do vegan food, too.

  There a regular concerts/movie screenings in our town, and there is lots to do in Rostock (theatre, cinema, shopping etc). Hamburg and Berlin are fairly close and great for day/weekend trips.
  
  The area is beautiful with the beach nearby (great for swimming! Not Baltic at all!) and lots of amazing towns fairly close such as Lübeck, Wismar and Stralsund (world heritage sites).
  
  We can also provide with a bike, the area is great for cycling.
