  Hello! We are an Italian family living in Parma. Mom Luisa (35 y.o.) and dad Marcello (42 y.o.) met in Parma 9 years ago. After a few years we got married and right after we moved to Brasil for Marcello´s work, where we lived for 6 years and where – more important – we had 2 beautiful kids, Filippo and Martina. Filippo is now 4 y.o., speaks mainly Italian but also some English (learning at school) and Portuguese (having spent more than three years in Brasil). He is a quiet and fun boy, sweet and kind. Martina is 3 y.o. and speaks only Italian. She is very different from his brother, very obstinate, brave and dynamic but also very sweet. We also have a cat, named Bako, who is 7 y.o...the king of the house!!! We moved back to Italy end of 2017. The kids go to the same kindergarten till afternoon. Marcello normally brings them to school in the morning before going to work. We usually have breakfast and dinner together around 7-7.30 pm, which is the kids’ dinner time. Then we hang out until bed time (normally around 8.30 pm). In the weekends we like to visit grandma in Genova or grand pa in Milan. We also travel to the beach or the countryside in the summertime. We move less in wintertime but this winter we would like Filippo to start skiing. We like going to the park, having picnics, walks with the kids, or visit some nice castles around here. Marcello likes football, music and cinema; Luisa likes TV series, walking in the countryside and reading. Together we love to talk, spend time with our family and friends, go to cinema or out for dinner and plan new trips as we both love travelling.
  Luisa has been an exchange student for a year when she was 17, Marcello also has had work experiences abroad. We both love being in contact with different cultures and learn from it, and we would like our kids to grow up open minded and used to be in contact with different cultures.
  We will welcome our workawayer as a member of our family, and will make sure she can rely on us on everything she might need during our stay, just like we would do with our own child! We are sure it can be a very nice experience and looking forward to finding the right match for us!

  We live in a house with a small garden right out of Parma (8-10 min by car to the city center). We have a bus stop in front of our house. At 10 minutes walking distance there is a shopping mall with around 20 stores, a pharmacy, an hypermarket. There is a cinema 5 minutes driving distance. It is a very quiet and nice place, where you can walk in the fields and enjoy nature, but at the same time close enough to the city life.
  Parma is not a huge city, but very pretty and very alive with different cultural activities. It is also a university town. It is very easy to go around by bike, and the bus service is punctual and pretty well organized. Parma historical centre is nice and lively. We are 1hr driving distance from Milan and Bologna, as well as from the sea.
  The traveller will be able to know closely italian culture, enjoying mid-sized Italian city lifestyle and tasting great Italian food, art and culture. She can have her own free time to go out and be independent, as well as she can join us in our activities in our everyday life and in the weekends.

  Ajuda

  We would like the future workawayer to be staying with us for 6-12 months in order to know each other and to become part of our family. We would like her to help us with our kids by caring and playing with them, being like an older sister. We will need her for maximum 25 hours a week: normally 1 hour in the morning for dressing them up and helping with breakfast, and 4 hours a day either in the afternoon or evening from Monday to Friday. However we consider this schedule as flexible and to be discussed in order to fit both our needs. Her main tasks will be: playing with the kids, tiding up their rooms (not cleaning), giving bath, preparing and giving meals (when needed). We will have a person helping with house keeping, however we might need help sharing the basic house tasks (such as grocery shopping, dishwasher, laundry, cooking).

  Acomodação

  In our house we have a single and private room (at the top floor) for our traveller, which guarantees her privacy. The room has two single beds, a library and wardrobe (we can put a TV, if needed). Right in front, there is a big anteroom which can be used as studio/living room. The bathroom is shared with the kids (we have our own). We are not smokers but we do not mind if she smokes, as long as it is not inside the house.

  - visiting museums, castles and historical buildings in the city centre
  - biking (or walking) in natural environment
  - enjoying great local tasty food and sparkling night life
  - travelling to other beautiful cities, such as Milano and Bologna (1hr driving distance), as well as seaside or mountains (again, 1hr driving distance)
