  Early 2022 I bought an old half-timbered house that was built sometime in the 19th century. Since then I've been working on renovating the house to ecologically sound standards and building a community here that makes this place special. Next to the house, there is a workshop, an old chicken coop, a garden shed, a tree house, and 4 1/2 hectares of land with a small stream on it. All of this needs to be looked after and maintained.
  
  I myself have always enjoyed going on long trips, for example with my VW camper. What fascinates me about traveling is getting to know new ways of life and world views. With my children (Max 8 years old and Lotte 10 years old), I now stay in one place and bring the lifestyles and world views here. We are currently between 1 and 8 people as well as 2 cats, but will be expanding soon, as 5 new people will be living here full time starting in Febuary 25.

  Quite often our evenings are filled with music. I particularly like to play music of German songwriters like Hannes Wader or Reinhard Mey, who can definitely be considered part of German cultural heritage. But I can also show you a few songs by more contemporary German songwriters such as Sarah Lesch. We have several guitars and a piano here. It's even nicer when there's a fire burning.
  
  You are invited to take part in our family life. We speak German, so your stay is a good opportunity to improve your German. It would be great if you can at least speak a few words and are interested in learning the language.
  
  In addition, we have now completed a number of projects, from installing steel beams to detailed wall paintings. We would be happy to share our experiences with you - and look forward to learning new things with you.

  Ajuda

  From January 19th to January 30st our new resident Kurt is working on two loft beds for his daughters and also our new residents Lars and Tabea might need some help with their bed-building project. Specifically during this time we are searching for workawayers.
  
  Special skills are not required. However it would be great if you were able to work independently after someone has introduced you to the work, as we cannot guarantee that there will always be someone working alongside with you. However, if possible, we will try to have more than one workawayer with us, so that you can keep each other company and make your stay worthwhile even when, at times, all the residents have other obligations.
  
  Beyond the bed-building-projects you will be part of our community and we will kindly ask you to do a portion of housekeeping (cooking meals, washing, cleaning).

  Acomodação

  We currently have two large rooms with double beds and a camper with heating, that we can offer you. In total we could accommodate 6 people.
  
  Kitchen and bathroom are shared.

  We live in the middle of the forest, so walks are wonderful from here. There is an electric cargo bike, that can also fit a passenger, that can be borrowed for excursions.
  
  All the activities described here can be reached within 15-20 minutes by bike:
  - Avalonia: a fairly well-known bouldering area, which is also popular with travelers from Belgium or Holland, for example. A loving climber looks after the area, sells beautifully designed topos, and installs land art.
  - Harkortsee and Hengsteysee: canoeing and pedal boat tours are possible there.
  - Wetter natural outdoor pool with long slide.
  - Westfalenbad: fun pool/indoor pool with tire slide and extensive sauna area with 8 different saunas
  
  If you are prepared to sit on your bike for up to 30 minutes, you can also reach the Hagen open-air museum: history of crafts and technology with lots of hands-on activities.

  We have a fiber optic connection with 400 Mbit/s download and 200 Mbit/s upload. Some digital nomads regularly work from here. So far there have been no problems.

  Our cats are terrified of dogs, so unfortunately they are not allowed in the house. Otherwise pets are welcome.
