Hi everyone :)
My name’s Veronika. I'm an enthusiastic and open-minded traveller originally from the second largest city in the Czech republic – Brno.
As for right now, I’m looking for an opportunity to improve my German language while meeting new people and immersing myself into a new culture. That’s why I'll be travelling to Austria this summer.



Some things you might want to know about me:

I am 19 years old and currently in a last year at gymnasium (grammar school). My plan is to study economics at university, and in the future, I would love to start an eco - friendly slow fashion business.

My favourite things to do include doing sports – apart from football (I‘m a football player), I love hiking and cross-country-skiing in the mountains or taking walks in the forest with my dog, running and biking. My other hobbies are drawing, singing, playing guitar and reading. But my biggest passions must be language learning and cooking. With both languages and food, I adore their ability to connect different people and cultures, widen our perspectives and provide new opportunities.

In the past my family and I have travelled many times to Austrian Alps in the winter as well as in the summer. My recent travel experiences must be two student exchanges with students from Stuttgart and Kassel. In both cases I had the opportunity to stay a week at their house and explore the city with them. I got very lucky – both families were extremely friendly and really made me feel like home. Those I would say are one of my fondest memories.

Also last year, I did solo travel via Workaway for the first time - I stayed with a lovely family from near Vienna, Austria. We spent our time cooking together, playing games with the kids, singing by a bonfire and much more. It was an amazing experience. That's why I can't wait to travel some more! :)



What skills I may offer you:

- fluent in English, Czech and intermediate in German language
- cooking and baking skills (mainly thanks to my dad, who is excellent cook)
- taking care of children (but only older ones, I don't have much experience with babies)
- dog sitting (I'm a big animal lover - we have a dog of our own and also two guinea pigs)
- survival skills like building fire, first aid, how to behave in the wild, sleeping in open air
- gardening (used to help my grandma and grandpa in their garden)
- drawing, sewing and other creative work

- designing and making plans of a house (for a school project I collaborated with an architect from Linz to design a community building in my neighbourhood)
