I'm originally from Manchester, England but I grew up in Hong Kong and Switzerland so I suppose I fall into the category of 'third culture kid'. I love travelling and experiencing new cultures, places and activities. I think it is a great way to spend your free time and educate yourself by improving your understanding of life and how the world works, plus you get to meet interesting people and have experiences you would never be able to have at home. I try to travel as often as possible and always look forwards to exploring a new country whenever the opportunity arises. I've used workaway a fair few times since 2016, I think it is a fantastic way to make friends and get an authentic experience of living in a different country.

I am an outgoing and sociable person, I think the people you meet often end up being the best part of any trip to a new country. I can make conversation and find common interests with anyone and I am really interested in meeting the locals and seeing what life is like for real people.

I love the outdoors and feel a strong connection to the natural world, I am particularly fond of the mountains, forests and beaches of the world. In my free time I like to play sports, go hiking, visit museums or art galleries and go out to eat and drink, go to live music or performance art shows etc etc etc.

My philosophy in life is to say yes to opportunities and bring a positive attitude to wherever that takes you.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am a hard worker and I honestly enjoy physical work. I have experience doing maintenance work, landscaping and gardening for schools, farms, homes and restaurants. I have spent my whole life around animals so I am comfortable working with pets and doing farmwork etc. I am very adaptable and a quick learner, I am good with my hands and would be very keen to learn new skills should it be necessary.

I have also worked behind the reception at a hostel, I have been a bartender and in general I have always had jobs which require me to be sociable and charismatic, especially towards customers and colleagues. I enjoy working as part of a team but equally if I am solely responsible for a job I will take pride in my work and make sure I do it to the best of my ability.

I pick up new skills quite easily and one of my favourite things about workaway is that it can put me outside of my comfort zone and force me to try new things, providing me with the opportunity to learn and develop new skills.
