Hello everyone!
We're Mimi and Tom :) a couple who live in London, UK.
We met while doing our undergraduate degrees at the School of Oriental and African studies (SOAS for short); Mimi's degree was in African studies, whereas Tom's was in Ethnomusicology. We both enjoyed our time there, learning about different cultures around the world, but are now more focused on what we want to do. For Mimi, that's gardening, permaculture, and food growing in general, whereas Tom's interests lie in music making, setting up his studio, building fx pedals, and currently endeavouring to learn flamenco guitar. We both have a great interest in outdoor activities, traveling, and meeting new people!

Mimi has a TEFL qualification in teaching English as a foreign language and English is also Tom's native language so we would both be happy to share our knowledge of English to anyone who would like to learn. We are also both interested in learning other languages, specifically French and Spanish. For Tom, he wants to learn Spanish as he has some friends in Barcelona and would love to go stay there at some point and French because he has traveled there quite a lot throughout his life and also wants to go to Mauritius someday. For Mimi, she has wanted to learn Spanish ever since she spent some time in Mexico and really enjoyed the language, she also aims to travel in South America at some point, and she is interested in French as she has similarly traveled to France a lot throughout her life and also spent 4 months in Martinique and would love to go back.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Between us we have a range of skills to offer and share, such as experience with gardening and splitting wood (Mimi is currently working towards her diploma in horticulture)! Also, crafts such as jewellery making and electronics/soldering, we can both play guitar and dabble in other instruments such as bass, piano, djembe. Also, between us we have experience with quite a few different athletic/physical skills such as slack-lining, juggling, skateboarding, mountain-biking, bouldering, poi and fire-poi. We can both offer language exchange for anyone wanting to learn English. We also both adore cooking/love to learn new recipes as well as explore new food cultures!
