Hello :)
I am a 26 year old social worker from Bavaria, Germany. I speak english fluently and also some french. I just started learning spanish, too.
I am an outdoor girl. I love being outside in nature, be it hiking in the Alps, running, riding my bike or going for a swim in a lake. Most of the time I am accompanied by my familys dog Rico and my friends.
Furthermore my hobbys are martial arts, dancing, learning french/spanish and meditating. I also have a big heart for animals, I especially like dogs and horses. I would love to improve my horse knowledge.

In general I am a calm, open-minded, social person. At the same time I also need regular "quiet time" for myself to recharge. Honest and respectful communication is important to me. If there is a problem, I want to talk about it and solve it in the best way possible. I have a positive outlook on life and try to make the best of every situation and learn from my mistakes. I have lots of patience and I am very reliable and hard working.

I am looking for a workaway experience where I can work on a ranch. I want to be part of a team and contribute to the ranch. I will surely do my best to learn new skills and help out in any way I can!

I am good with children. I used to work in a kindergarden and at summer camps.
I have medium cooking skills (vegetarien).
I dont have any experience in building and construction but I am quite fit and if somebody shows me how to do it, I can help with that type of work.
I can help with animal care. I have experience with dogs and cats. I have some experience with horses, but I still might need some guidance with horse care.
I can help arround the house and in the garden.

I spent two months at Aninas Finca. Originally I only wanted to stay for one month but I liked it so much that I stayed double the time.
Anina is very generous and you can feel that she cares about her volunteers' wellbeing.
We cooked the most amazing healthy meals together and there was always more than enough food in the community kitchen.… read more Being vegetarian at Aninas finca was no problem. We shared at least one meal a day together and enjoyed conversations about many different topics. Having travelled and experienced a lot in her life Anina always has an interesting story to share and she still has a thriving adventure spirit.

The work is really diverse and flexible. There are always many different things to do on a farm. You can mostly choose your working time and your working task. Some things of course have to be done or have priority over others. I was working together with another volunteer which made work even more fun.
Once a week Daniel, the permaculture manager of the finca, comes and you do a tour with him where he explains about permaculture and gives you tasks for the upcoming week.
Daniel is very patient and will explain until you understand. You can ask him questions about permaculture and we also enjoyed philosophical conversations with him.
The work is a great opportunity to learn about permaculture, gardening, using farm tools, caring for horses and chickens and handyman skills in general.
The tasks outdoors and sometimes physically demanding which lies in the nature of farming. So be prepared to move your body and get your hands dirty. I enjoyed it a lot.

Anina takes great care of her animals. She has a playful dog, a cuddly cat, two wonderful horses and four funny chickens. She taught me many things about how to take care of a horse and how to handle a horse. I loved spending time with Anina and the horses.

One evening Anina took me and the other volunteer to a flamenco singer and guitar concert and we experienced some authentic Spanish culture. She also went with us to the coast a couple of times.

The farm is definitely off grid but once a day there is a bus connection to Málaga which I have used a couple of times. You just have to get up early to catch the bus. So if you want to spend a weekend in Malaga for example, that's possible. The finca is surrounded by beautiful nature and mountains. If you like hiking, there a plenty of possibilities to do so. So you can have calm beautiful country life and switch it up with a visit in Málaga, if you feel like it. Isn't that cool?
