Hello!

My name is Lara, I am a multi-disciplinary artist, cook and writer from the Netherlands. Growing up partly in the Netherlands and in Russia and having family all over the world, I have come to realise the notion of 'home' is not so much bound to one place but instead is portable and fluid, connecting with many places and people. This is why I love travelling, to meet people from all walks of life and backgrounds, discover new cultures and places and exchange knowledge and stories.

I'm currently starting a new project about ancestral knowledge/recipes, healing, and regenerative agriculture. As a passionate cook, I'm interested to learn more about heritage practices and the cycle from seed to table. Last year, I've worked on a biodynamic farm and restaurant in Italy and it really sparked my passion for slow-food and a wish to connect more with my senses. This experience also shifted my relationship with nature towards a more mindful, respectful and reciprocal understanding.

When I travel I like to immerse myself in the local culture and learn about local cuisine, cooking traditions and food history. I'm eager to grow my gardening skills and expand knowledge in regenerative agricultural practices, as well as learning food-preservation methods like fermentation processes and pickling.

In my free time, I love to be in nature to go for hikes, swimming and horse riding. I'm often reading, writing and drawing and I practice yoga and meditation.

I'm a highly inquisitive person, always curious and open to learn from others. I'm respectful, tidy, passionate, and always in for a laugh.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am a keen cook, I love open fire cooking and my enthusiasm always gets sparked by learning about new ingredients. I'm currently learning more about Georgian, Armenian, Kyrgyz and Kazach cuisine!
I have beginner gardening skills, my mum taught me the basics. I have worked in the past on organic farms in both Italy and Spain during the summer months. Tasks included mostly harvesting and weeding.
As an artist, I can also help out with any art related projects. From photography, textiles, illustrations, short story writing and graphic design. I have a proficiency level in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Lightroom.
