Hi !

We're Clara and Guillaume, 24 years old, friends for over 6 years now, and we're going to travel together for at least 4 months from March 2024. We'd like to discover the Canary Islands and Portugal, so as not to be too cold this winter :)
We haven't booked our ferry from Spain yet but we expect to reach the Canary Islands in mid March.
We'd like to alternate our trip with workaways to meet people and get to know the culture better.

We've both finished our engineering studies in Grenoble, France, and are keen to travel before starting work!
We've already traveled for 4 months with 3 other friends in Europe in 2022 by train, hitchhiking and bus. It was a great experience! We met some great people through Couchsurfing and hostels. During this trip we visited 4 French schools in Europe where we raised awareness of global warming among children aged between 6 and 18. (Pictures available in our profile)
We both live in France in a very beautiful region near the Alps where there are many mountains. So we like to ski and hike, cycling. But we also like team sports like volleyball, handball and basketball.
During our studies, we've always lived in flat-shares, and we really enjoy community life, which is why we think the workaway would be a great experience!

Thanks to workaway I (Clara) was able to stay for 1 month with a Jamaican family in Tenerife (Canary Islands), where I looked after their 2 lovely children and did a bit of housework. I'd love to do it again!
On my side, I (Guillaume) haven't done any Workaway experience yet, but I'm counting on this trip to test this type of experience, which has interested me for several years now!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

During our trip to Europe, we spent a total of 4 weeks in various French schools in Europe, where we raised awareness of global warming among pupils aged between 6 and 18 through various fun workshops (photos of this experience are in our profile).

CLARA
In January 2022, I stay for 1 month with a Jamaican family in Tenerife (Canary Islands), where I looked after their 2 lovely children and did a bit of housework and some cooking ! (picture available in my profile)

I have already done the grape harvest in September 2021 for 11 days and I enjoyed working in the vineyards as part of a team. I'm interested in understanding how wine, a true french heritage, was made

In parallel to my studies I used to do once a month some voluntary mission with the Restos du Coeur in 2020 where I had to distribute meals to people in need.

I gave in 2017 mathematics lessons 1h30 per week for 1 year to a 14 year old student.

As a handball player for many years at the national level I think I have the physical capacity for the tasks I could be asked to perform and I know how to integrate easily into a team and work with them.


GUILLAUME :
In 2022, I worked on a project to build a waste barrier, in collaboration with an association called "Wings of the Ocean" that fights against plastic pollution with the aim of preserving living things. In particular, this project enabled me to develop my ability to work in a team and to carry out manual tasks.

In 2019, like Clara, I gave a few private math lessons to a student who was preparing for his baccalaureate.

I also have a background in team sports, mainly basketball, which I played for 6 years. This period of my life enabled me to develop my team spirit as well as my physical abilities.
