Description

Hi there!
My name is Zofia. I’m 21 years old and I live all around the globe but come from Warsaw Poland :). 7 years ago I came back from Ireland where I lived there for 2.5 years in Drogheda, a small city above Dublin. Currently, I am finishing my work in the hostel in Amsterdam and I am going travelling for a couple of months to find more about myself in this world :)

I love yoga (in the future I want to go through a yoga course to be able to teach) hiking, climbing, horse riding, surfing (what I would love to train more in Guatemala), sailing (especially on the sea, where I can discover new places from a different points of view), and all things creative! I would love to get better at German and learn Spanish! Also, I want to do some animal conservation work!

I describe myself as an open-minded person who takes from life everything that can. I am a very optimistic soul who smiles constantly. I believe that exploring new places and meeting new people is the key to self-growth! :)

I find workaway as an excellent opportunity to learn a new language. I would like to practice my German to be able to communicate fluently. I also looking forward to learning a new language like Spanish. Besides, I have my little dream to know Arabic, I think workaway is a good way to start working on it.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am an athletic and hardworking person. I speak English and Polish fluently and some of German. Learning new stuff is no problem for me, far from it. I enjoy learning new things and I am always motivated to do it so.

3 years ago I gained a document entitling me to teach sailing. This allowed me to be a sailing instructor at a summer camp for a month. It was an incredible experience that I will never forget. I plan to do a sea sailing license therefore, 2 years ago I went on a cruise on a tall ship, across the Atlantic. I find this trip as my beginning to explore the world and different cultures.

I have experience working with kids as a babysitter, for 4 years. It was my permanent job during the school year. Having 7 siblings taught me a lot :) My first workaway experience was last year after finishing high school, I went to Germany to work in Acroturistic, I was taking care of the animals like horses, rabbits, chickens, and goats. At the same time, I was cleaning the apartments for a guest. This job allowed me to travel for the next year.

That time I also started volunteering remotely for Polsih NGO, where I create short Erasmus projects like youth exchange and training courses fully sponsored by the EU. I love it cus I can do it wherever I can and I see the results of my work in the participants which I recruited for projects.

After the summer season in Germany, I started to travel around Europe sometime alone sometimes with Erasmus projects where I met amazing people all around the world. I fell in love with Nomand life so I decided to go somewhere for a bit longer, at that how I discover volunteering in Hostels! My second workaway was in a hostel in Vienna where I had a chance to learn what hostel life looks like and practice my German. I stayed there 2.5 months and where I was living I knew It is not gone be my last hostel. That is why right after a few weeks of exploring Jordan and Marocco where I learned how to Surf, I am in another hostel this time in Amsterdam, trying to figure out where I am going to be in next year.

(In October I am starting remote studies on Social Media and E-marketing)

I am a big fan of board games, my family and I often gather together and play. I was inspired by my dad, my favorite game is Catan. I even qualify for Polish championships, placing myself in 32nd place. I am planning to qualify for a world championship, it is another little dream!
