I discovered years ago that I am happiest while helping others, especially doing beautification projects using what's available on site and empowering impoverished kids through art and sports. When possible I combine the two and teach kids the value and rewards of being of service. I believe we are here to share our gifts with humanity and that's how I strive to live my life.

I am a positive, self reliant person striving to be a lifelong learner. I would like to think that I'm drama free and easy to get along with. I've done extensive paid and volunteer work with children and elders over the years and find so much joy and value in learning from them. I love historic buildings and own a circa 1930 home. I've restored what I can but it's always a work in progress.

Currently I'm obsessed with playing competitive beach volleyball four nights a week during the season and always with gardening and interior design. I hope to learn historic preservation and building techniques and add a tiny cottage to my yard. I'm also passionate about nutrition and healthy living without being extreme because without your health nothing else really works. I've practiced yoga for the last 10 years and try to live those principles on and off the mat. I'm an artisan and have done mosaic, assemblage art sculptures, jewelry and stained glass.

I don't drink, do drugs or smoke. My health is very important to me. I don't push any beliefs on others though, to each his own. I'm fully vaccinated against covid and mindful of safe practices.

I had always planned to join Workaway a few years from now when I didn't have a dog and sadly that time has come sooner than expected. So here I am, ready and willing to help make a difference in the lives of others while gaining skills and new friends.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I spent the last two winters , a total of 9 months volunteering at a historic plantation estate turned eco hotel . My main job was keeping the grounds and common areas clean and beautified . I did lots of tropical gardening and propagation, kept the pool clean, breakfast service and food prep. All of the projects in my photos were done in my free time there. I am a hard worker and up for most any task, always willing to learn new skills and do my very best.

I am an avid flower and vegetable gardener. I've done side gigs as a landscaper and also voluntarily installed flower and vegetable gardens for friends and neighbors. My favorite thing to do is take a really ugly space indoors or out and beautify it with what's available.

I have extensive experience caring for children and elders. I thoroughly enjoy this work and develop strong bonds.

I've voluntarily done interior design projects for friends and family and many in my own home. I am a decent house painter, better with walls than trim work if we're going to be completely honest. I'm good with color and transforming spaces with very little money. I love flea market shopping and working with what's already there.

I have had my own business online for the last 17 years. It's pretty much passive income and I can teach how to do this. I'm good with ideas and marketing strategies. I'm decent with photography and social media.

I love animals and will care for yours like they are my own. I had Afghan Hounds for 35 years, cats, peacocks, chickens, snake, hamsters and mice, goldfish and an Arabian mare.

Just finished a life coaching certification but I promise not to go all life coach on you, it's made me an excellent listener. I can juggle, on a good day I can eat an apple while juggling three. I'm very interested to learn historic restoration. construction, eco building techniques or traditional. Also always interested to learn native natural remedies and alternative medicine.
I have a slight obsession with herons ❤️
