First things first, I have to say thank you to Kieran for being so supportive and helpful during this extraordinary period I spent at his place, he was very kind in picking up and taking me from and to the train station. He patiently answered my questions and explained me a lot about his life and his projects. I had previous Workaway experiences but this was my first time outside Europe and the decision to land in Australia couldn't have been better choice. Since I was completely new to some habits and lifestyle I came to learn many new things about Australia and locals. During my two weeks in Stanwell Park Kieran and I took care of the bushes clearing up leaves and branches to prevent massive fires in surrounding of the house and secondly we reused all materials to create art. During the couple of weeks I was visiting there was the Garden Trail and the Art Trail which took many people to visit the house and the artistic installations throughout the bushes. Kieran's nests are so simple but at the same time beautiful nature architecture with a touch of classical and contemporary art painted on eggs. The place is magic inscribed into a hundred years old rainforest with the shores at the edge of the property there are quite a lot beds available and I had my private room with share nice bathroom, quietness and beauty are the most fitting adjectives I could think about recalling at this experience. Last but not least, I cannot forget to thank Kieran again for the great opportunity he offered me (since he knew I like classical music) to join him at the Sydney Opera House to listen to the majestic Beethoven's 9th symphony. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I wish I could have more time to spend here in Stanwell Park, but this might be the chance to come back to visit again someday.

We stayed with Coral for two weeks and had a wonderful experience. The house is beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by amazing views — and it’s close enough to Tathra to go by bike or walking, which we loved. Our tasks were mainly gardening and some small house projects like oiling and painting. Everything was very clear and relaxed, and we always felt trusted and appreciated. What made the experience truly special was the atmosphere at home. Coral is friendly, open-minded, and always willing to help. We shared many great conversations and delicious dinners — she’s an amazing vegetarian cook (she cooks incredibly well!). We also loved our outings to nearby towns, beaches, and national parks. Coral is a wonderful person and now a friend. We truly hope she visits us one day in Argentina. We fully recommend volunteering with her — you will feel welcome, comfortable, and part of a meaningful cultural exchange.

We were lucky enough to host Nina, who is a warm, open and lovely person, very easy and enjoyable to chat to. She has become part of our little family very quickly, and our kids still talk about her weeks later. You've made a real impression on all of us and we have shared many great memories. Nina did not shy away from any job, and gave everything a try if she wasn't familiar with it. We are thankful for your time and your visit, and look forward to seeing you again 🥰

Moltes gràcies, família i Ricardo! Jacky me cuidó muchísimo. El entorno es una maravilla. Muchas gracias, familia y Ricardo. Un abrazo muy fuerte y hasta pronto! 🥰

Andrea was an absolutely incredible volunteer, we recommend her 300%! From the moment she arrived, she became an essential part of our family. She is kind, proactive, hardworking, and always full of positive, joyful energy. Andrea was constantly looking for ways to help, improve things, or take initiative without ever needing to be asked. Her enthusiasm, motivation, and willingness to get involved made a huge difference for us. She handled every task with a big smile, genuine care, and real dedication. Beyond her amazing work ethic, she was also simply a wonderful person to have around, warm, easygoing, friendly, and a pleasure to share time with. We feel very lucky to have hosted her, and we will truly miss her. Any future host will be extremely fortunate to have her on their team!

It is hard to put into words how great of a time I had with Sven and Monica, truly they have become great friends. The days were filled with grape harvesting, gardening, history lessons and inspiring conversations over homemade wine. I had the absolute best time, it was so much more than I could have hoped for. I planned to stay for three weeks but extended as I couldn't bring myself to leave. If you get the chance to enjoy this wonderful experience I highly recommend you take the opportunity.

........................................................................ I've found a second home and family at the Foundation. What a beautiful place and such wonderful people! We started our days between 9 and 10 am and worked until 4 pm. The work consisted of a lot of gardening, serving food to the students, teaching English, assisting with sports classes, building a podium, and much more. I'm grateful for all the experiences I've had at the Foundation and feel that I've been able to see and participate in parts of society that are usually inaccessible to foreigners. One area for improvement would be communication. Many times it wasn't very clear what we needed to do and which tasks had priority. But well, in the end things always worked out, and we also learned to choose our own tasks to overcome the chaos. At first, we didn't know that we should ask the cooks for food (for breakfast and dinner). That's why we did our own shopping. Remember, you can ask for food! Martín and all the other wonderful people at the Foundation, thank you so much for everything! I miss you all and wish you all the best. See you next time!

When we arrived we were welcomed by an energetic gang of Boston Terriers. Saskia and Pavel were really kind and made sure we felt like home. We had the whole upstairs floor to ourselves, offering a private space. The food was very good and also quite varied. Breakfast was a highlight: oatmeal with yogurt or milk and a wide selection of toppings like nuts, honey, dates, and raisins. The work was also varied, from digging in the garden to helping with concrete tasks and trimming trees. That kept the days interesting, and we gained a lot of experience. Overall we had a great time with Saskia, Pavel and the dogs.

Philipp and Erik spent three weeks with us. They were active and willing to do well, mostly busy in the garden. They gently complied with the contraints of our way of living. They used their free time to visit the surroundings showing interest in discovering and exploring. They are nice young men .

This is a great volunteering opportunity to get an authentic experience teaching English in Guatemala! The project is run with a lot of passion and enthusiasm. Raul and the teachers are a great team who are very supportive of the volunteers. The experience of living in Palín and getting to teach/practice English with so many students of varying levels was invaluable. The students themselves are so sweet, interested in learning about your life, and really want to improve their English with you. I would recommend having at least a basic level of Spanish and ability to plan lessons for the students. The accommodation is also very nice, and Raul was incredibly helpful in making sure me and the other two volunteers felt at home. I stayed here for one month at the start of my time in Guatemala and it was an incredibly memorable way to start the trip! Thank you Raul and everyone :)

The only bad part about having Ally volunteer with us this summer is that eventually she had to leave. She came to Canada from Italy with this amazing attitude and work ethic that stood out right away. Within the first couple of weeks she was easily the MVP of our staff — super dependable, upbeat, and always jumping in to help with anything we needed, often before we even asked. She worked hard, paid attention to the little things, and made our busiest days feel so much easier. Ally lived in our main lodge for the summer, and she fit in perfectly from day one. She helped keep the place spotless, cooked for the other staff, and always made sure the people around her felt comfortable, supported, and at home. She wasn’t just a volunteer — she became a huge part of our daily life here, and the heart of our little staff community. Ally — and her cat, Paka — quickly became favourites around the lodge. Guests loved them. Kids would stop by just to hang out and play with Paka, and families constantly commented on how friendly, kind, and genuine Ally was. She brought such a warm and positive energy that we’re genuinely going to miss. If you’re lucky enough to get the chance to host Ally and Paka, don’t even think twice — they’ll make your place better, just like they did for ours.

I look back on my time at the Quinta with so much love. Nathan is a beautiful person and made me feel welcome and relaxed from the very first moment. The days never felt like work at all , everything was super chill and easygoing, with lots of laughs and good conversations and hugs with Max and Minnie. We went out for dinner in the village, went swimming a couple of times, and I could even borrow an electric bike to explore on my own. Thank you, Nathan 🩷

It was a pleasure to meet Ceci and her students. Ceci is a hard-working teacher, and I enjoyed the opportunity to contribute to her school and to improve my teaching skills. The volunteering schedule wasn't demanding. I had plenty of free time to enjoy the beauty of Villa La Angostura and to take the bus to the larger town of Bariloche. I highly recommend volunteering with Ceci. Thank you, Ceci and all my best wishes for your students' continued success.

Staying with this host family was a wonderful experience. The home was welcoming, clean, and comfortable, and I felt included from the very beginning. The family was kind, supportive, and always willing to help with anything I needed. The meals were great, the conversations were warm and engaging, and I learned a lot about the local culture and daily life. I always felt safe, respected, and well cared for. I truly appreciate everything they did to make my stay enjoyable, and I would gladly recommend this host family to anyone looking for a positive and friendly homestay experience.

I had such a great stay with Jill and Paul! From the moment I arrived, they were warm, welcoming, and made it really easy to feel at home. The tasks were very manageable and varied. Most of the time I did some gardening together with Jill. I also loved the area and the dogs! It's a beautiful place to spend some time and unwind. Overall, I felt appreciated, included, and really comfortable during my stay. They are wonderful hosts, and I’m very glad and thankful I got the chance to meet them. I’d absolutely recommend staying with them!

Be careful, if you come to Pedro's farm, you might want to become a real farmer 😍 Petro is really passionate about his work. I really enjoyed learning from him. The house has an amazing view on greek mountains. There is a lot of animals to take care of (chickens, rabbits, cats, turkeys, bees). I stayed for 2 weeks during olive's season. So my first mission was in the field, picking the olives. Anyone who wants to learn can !!! He works in a way that minimizes environmental damage. I really enjoyed learning this way. On my free days, we would go to the mountains to pick mushrooms, go hiking or rest. It is also very easy to hitchhike on the island! I really recommend this place and I miss it already ✨ Thank you Pedro 🙏
