Description
I live in a railway house in Quillan, a small town near Carcassonne in the Aude région. I'm English but speak French, German and some Greek. I have psoriatic arthritis so find it difficult to do the gardening I'd love to have some help with that. I'm vegetarian but not a brilliant cook! Sorry. The basement is self contained so
you could have privacy & perhaps prepare your own meals if I provide the food!

This is Cathar country which may be of historical interest. It's a particularly beautiful region of France with a wealth of activities to choose from. There is a regular €1 bus service to Carcassonne and Perpignan. It's about 30km from the nearest ski resort. Quillan has a large lake with lots of amenities and my house is next to the municipal swimming pool. Rennes les Bains with its thermal baths is about 20 minutes' drive away & the coast around 90 minutes.

The local tourist office has a wealth of information on activities such as canoeing & White Water rafting and the wealth of cultural events in the area. Opposite that is the bus station - 2 minutes' walk away. Buses to Perpignan and Carcassonne, perhaps the most beautiful medieval city in France cost only €1. Quillan has a lovely little cinema, lots of cafés & restaurants plus a French & an English library. There's a market each Wednesday & Saturday. In the summer there's a music festival which is completely free.
