Located on the south coast of Sri Lanka on a high cliff within the bay of Weligama, our place provides views of the indian ocean, the bay of Weligama, the fisheries harbour of Mirissa and the distant mountains inland. It is a view that has drawn visitors to this location for over a century. Ernst Haeckel the famous German naturalist described the sunset on the cliffs; “they seem to burn like live coal …” in his book, “A VISIT TO CEYLON.”
The house has beach access in three location and a large natural garden, home to eagles, monitor lizards, peacocks and many birds. Swimming is possible around the year and great snokelling in the surrounding bays for around 5 months.
The house was built by a world famous Sri Lankan architect almost twenty years ago. The house is probably the final evolution of his own style of creating a seamless interface of the house and the great outdoors.
We have recently started letting the house out as a villa and upgraded the rooms, toilets, kitchen and added a pool to cater to high end clients.
We need help with overlooking some of the upgrade work and with guest relations.
