Description
Hi! We have a homestead farm where we care for our horses, including rescue & retired horses. We have cattle and chickens to provide for our family. There is lot's to do around the farm, including helping out with chores and caring for the animals. Our goal is to live off the land & provide an opportunity for you to learn about this lifestyle.
We are located in beautiful Northern Ontario. We have lakefront property with direct access to a waterfall. You can enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, riding & canoeing right on our property. We are a retired couple, your housing will be a private room in the home with the farm "grandma". Come experience the beauty of winter with us.

We have a lifetime of experience with using natural resources & animal care. We can share with you horsemanship, managing cattle and forestry. We would love to help you with your English if that is one of your goals, share stories & open our home to learn about different cultures & bring like minded people together.

Aide
We are retired and do not have an income from the farm. Accommodation and meals will be provided. We are not providing a wage. We are looking for individuals with animal experience, a positive attitude and a great desire to learn. Some tasks will be expected to be done independently, and some tasks will be alongside us or other workaways.
Tasks can include: feeding & watering animals, grooming horses, horsemanship, helping with firewood & basic snow removal as well as helping with some cooking & household chores. We are happy to show you outdoor skills & teach you about building, using your resources, animal husbandry & horsemanship / riding skills.

Hébergement
You will receive a private room with a shared bathroom & dining space. Breakfast and dinner are eaten with the family and other volunteers. Lunch is available for you at your leisure.
