We, that´s Isabell ( 46 ) and me, Gunnar (55) moved to a small round village in the wendland ( lower saxony ) three and a half years ago. We renovated a two hundred year old farmhouse and reestablished farming on the premises for selfsustainability. The farm was not used agriculturally for over fourty years. We are Farm and we breed endangered farm animals. Closest town is Lüchow ( 5 km).
The premises encompass two vegetable gardens, two meadows with old fruit trees, pastures, stables for: goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits and four horses.
Further animals are: three dogs, three cats and two tame raccoons! There is a workshop for all neccessary repairs, a small John Deere tractor, and so many projekts that want to be realized. We try to produce as much of our food as possible ourselves. We have a kitchen for making cheese and we also slaughter for meat.
Isabell is veterinarian and veterinary chiropractor, and i was a advisor of wound deseases in human medicine. Now my job ist the farm, the machines and pasture management. We need help mainly from march to octobre, less so in winter, which is a time for repairs, renovation and planning the new farm year. Our newest project is a small fish farm. This is situated on a forested piece of land. A hut there needs renovation, trees need to be felled etc.
We like to share our experiences in self sustainablity, let you take part in daily life on the farm.

Living with us you can learn about agriculture and self sustainability on a small farm. You can learn handling animals, managing gardens and pastures, working with horses, growing and harvesting feeding material. Driving an old tractor included !
Depending on the season we need help in the garden, on the pastures, in harvesting, in conserving fruit and vegetables, feeding the animals, maintenance and renovation of buildings. Daily volunteering is from 8 am to 1 pm, plus we expect you to help with the usual housekeeping stuff. ( cleaning the dishes, help preparing and cooking the meals, laundry).

Apartment with own kitchen or a family guestroom
You are fully integrated in our family and daily life. We will be like a big family. In your spare time there‘s bicycles, a sunny room for painting or so, wireless internet access or the computer. Smoking in the house ist prohibited but possible outside. We would like you to stay two weeks minimum. However , if you want to experience selfsustained living including seeding, growing and harvesting, feeding and slaughtering you should consider staying longer. Please notice that we are not living in a vegetarian or vegan style. The credo of our farm is sustaining endangered breeds by using (eating) them. We would like to speak english with you, you may pick up some german but we are not offfering language courses.
The next airport is hamburg or hanover both reached by train within about two hours. Best way to get here is by train via lüneburg to dannenberg or via uelzen to salzwedel. Both stops are about 15 km distant, we will pick you up there by car.
