Recent graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara with a major in Environmental Studies and minors in Art and Professional Writing (Science Communication). Seeking to travel Europe for the next month, making meaningful connections, exploring, and learning new skills. I have previous workaway experience in the US, and am super excited to have similar opportunities abroad!
At UCSB I did research in sustainable agriculture, as well as worked for a community garden and a local composting organization. I'm deeply passionate about regenerative agriculture and reconnecting with our food systems; I have skills in both the physical aspect of this venture--I love to be outside farming, making garden boxes, turning compost etc, but additionally studied science communications and worked as the marketing manager for Isla Vista Compost Collective, and am more than happy to help out with any social media, writing, or marketing needs! I've also worked as a crew member for Salmon Lake Lodge, which entailed guests services, cabin maintenance and cleaning, weekly cooking for guests, amongst a wide variety of other miscellaneous tasks. I am physically fit and comfortable with basic power tools and saws, and would love to continue to build my home repair or carpentry skills!

Que habilidades tienes?

Experience in farming and outdoor labor; physically fit. Moderate carpentry and basic power tool skills, and would love to continue building skills in home repair/maintenance/construction.
Have worked at a community garden, composting organization, and have done research in as well as studied regenerative agriculture at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Competent and knowledgeable with nursery work, permaculture design, weeding, greenhouse operation, and general farm maintenance.
Have cooked for guests in a professional setting, I really love to cook although I am not especially familiar with cooking many meat dishes outside of a basic sausage or hamburger. Able to make excellent vegan and vegetarian food!
I minored in Art and Professional Writing, Science Communication track. I have worked as the marketing manager for aforementioned composting organization as well as the Communications Intern for UCSB's Environmental Leadership Incubator as well as the Algae Design Intern for the Cheadle Center for Biological and Ecological Restoration. I have very strong skills in design, social media, and writing, and would love to get to use these skills for a nonprofit, hostel, or any other website or branding design needs. I also have experience painting murals and signage for the gardens I have worked at, and am able to brighten a space with my painting skills and eye for design!
