Hello there person viewing my workaway profile!

Until now, I've got a really positive connotation to this platform, and I think the platform to me too. My first workaway experience ended up as being a life-altering time, 8 months in a community in the Algarve, Aljezur. I fell in love with the Quinta and they fell in love with me, simple as that.

For 6 months I worked in the gardens, did a Permaculture Design Course, made my first steps in construction, lived in containers, vans, a caravan, and a tent, became best friends with 2 donkeys, 8 sheep, and 30 chickens (who I cared for), helped maintaining a forest or in other words preserving 48 hectares of land, cleaned dry compost toilets with a smile, joined in loads of interesting shamanic rituals, and dealt with the highs and the lows of living in a big group. But foremost of all, I created a home in the wilderness, and I absolutely freaking loved it.

Soooo, here I am, carrying this experience in my little backpack, which soon needs to be changed for a bigger one I guess, because I'm not stopping yet. With the willpower to learn and create a lot of stuff becomes a lot easier for me to do, I try to find challenges in everything, also if that sometimes implies doing something I don't like. However, I got a goal to grow within the beautiful world of construction, this being a physical, creative, and outside activity, it has a lot of components I am challenged by.

Next to the workaway relevant information, I practice several hobbies which are in the community vibe too I guess; playing guitar (I travel around with one;), exploratory climbing (if you can show me a 'deep-water climbing' spot, you're my best friend), dancing, reading, stretching, surfing, ping-pong (expert ;), and my one and only love, football (warning: I get competitive). Not to forget, petting dogs I also find really nice :).
