Hi everyone :) I’m Grace from England. I’m currently a student at Exeter University on the south coast studying Conservation Biology and Ecology. I have a lot of time off for the summer term and I am travelling to learn new skills, meet new people and get involved with meaningful projects. The harder the task the more rewarding at the end!

I am an enthusiastic member of the Green Living Society and have recently joined the Botany Society as well to improve my plant identification skills (It has been a goal of mine for some time to get more into foraging and herbalism!). As part of Green Living Society I work maintaining the allotment and learning traditional crafts such as spoon carving and weaving baskets which are skills I would love to share.

I worked 3 months in Ecuador last year on a Workaway which had a real impact on my outlook of life. I fell in love with the way of living that was shown to me - farming the land, fixing and making everything ourselves, looking after the animals and local community.

I've found that the most priceless things you can carry are memories and experiences so I plan to make a lot more. I know that wherever I end up, I will go with all my heart and try my best.

I have a little bit of work experience in woodland ecology which I’m very interested in and am thinking about pursuing as a career. I am also greatly interested in natural history and archaeology which I am working to expand my knowledge on.

I am an aspiring painter, and love getting creative in any way that I can, usually inspired by nature and animals. I mostly paint for my family and friends as a way of showing my love for them. I've also done a few murals before for local community shelters and a big floor mural for the yoga studio I helped build in Ecuador.

I LOVE food and cooking but I am always looking for inspiration and new recipes! I'm not the best chef by any means but I always try my best.

Locally, I have previously volunteered in my city's main library, helping preserve artefacts and writing articles for their website. I also have some experience in gardening and animal care which I would love to expand my knowledge on. The most rewarding work for me has been when I've really cared about the positive impact it has. I find that any work can be made fun when you have the right mindset. I am very eager to learn new things and determined to help in any way I can.

I am a member of a kayak club and I am very keen to learn other types of water sports as well, especially surfing and scuba diving. I am also nearly always reading some sort of book, so if you would like any recommendations I'd be happy to give you some ;)

By joining Workaway I really hope to challenge myself mentally, physically, spiritually and any other way you can think of!
