--- Our project is in winter break from November until end of march 2021 ---
We will visit the place from time to time, but in general its too cold to stay here. If you are looking for a hardcore experience in solitude, you can write us nonetheless. Or to save your spot for next summer here! :)

    Aloha everybody!

We are Florian, Bennet, and Max. Three crazy individuals connected by the common dream of creating a place that is capable of fulfilling our needs and serves other people as well in an egalitarian, eco-conscious, and fun way. In the future the place should exist and work without a specific person being there and having all the responsibility, for now, to get the ball rolling, it is you and us three:

Florian: loves permaculture (the garden part and the social part), skating (he wanted to have a miniramp before we worry about the roof or windows), all sports and intellectual discussions about political theory or ice cream. Lives here 80% of his time.

Bennet: loves self-governance and works on its realization with the help of blockchain, first-timer regarding self-sufficient communities, but avid learner. Lives here 80% of his time.

Max: is really into building everything he can, with any material he can find. Therefore already involved in 2 other very cool in projects in Berlin -> lives here 30% of his time.

We found this beautiful piece of land, with a fitting history (the former owner started an anarchist commune there in the nineties, that lasted until she wanted to have more action in her daily life and moved to Berlin) and for us, it's kinda vice versa 🏄🏼‍♂️🧘🏼‍♀️😇. We´re actively seeking the quietness and reduction of (superfluous) input you can get in the countryside.

The 4 houses we have and the 4000sqm land surrounding it were damn cheap, therefore everything (building-related) is damn wasted as well of course. One could say that we have no roof at all, but once it rains you will realize that some corners stay dry, so it's awesome!! And the walls we have will completely protect you from the sometimes strong winds we get up here in the north. Good enough to start with we thought. :)

The garden is already awesome. The former owner planted a lot of fruit trees (pear, apple, plum) as well as other trees like birches or high growing shrubs like lilac. This means those trees are now already quite tall. As the garden is supposed to turn into a self-sustaining food forest, we basically reached half of the goal already, as the canopy layer is supposed to need the most time for growing (more info on those plans when you are here, I wanna keep that text here bearable for you)

    What else are our goals?

The goal is to have a free space for many people where everyone can experiment with things that require a lot of space and/or time and/or creativity. We have friends teaching yoga, cooking for events, making music, or doing experimental pedagogic stuff. We want to offer them (and also those who are not yet our friends of course) a platform very soon. And the same applies to you. Bring your ideas and creativity with you and we will see what we can make out of it.

What did we do so far to make living there convenient?

Electricity: We started with a gas-powered emergency generator, then we set up a 130-watt strong solar panel which we wanna double until autumn when the sun becomes less. The next step here will be a wind generator. The problem will be the tower, not the rotor blades or the engine, both of which can easily be made from an old washing machine.

Water: We started with small tanks (20 Liter) that we filled up whenever we went to the city. As this was quite a hard task (by bike) we now have 4 huge tanks with a capacity of 1000 liters each, that we keep on filling up, whenever there is a car here. Future plans include rainwater catchment via roof and veranda and store it in a pond, plus digging a well. We reduce our water consumption, by washing our bodies and clothes at one of the lakes close by. (With organic stuff of course)

Heating: We have a small oven, but no real buildings that could store the heat. Insulation is the very last step on our priority list, so in the first few years, the project will only be open from April to October (at least us three don't wanna be there in November if you're up for freezing nights you can sure go there). We can obviously make bonfires to make chilly October nights warmer.

Sleeping: First we had the tents in the building, but we decided that it's too dangerous to let guests sleep in there. (Again: you can, but it's your responsibility) Right now, we put tents on top of pallets, so you have no contact with the cold, wet floor. Inside the tents we have real mattresses, so you could already call it Glamping! Bring bed sheets & sleeping bag if possible, please.

Internet: Bennet & Flo work online (about 2-3 hours per day on average), so we rely on the LTE we have here. In the end, we´re just 8km away from a city, so even though you might feel like you're somewhere in nowhere, you can still do ZOOM-meetups with your boss from here. Both of us use mobile LTE Routers with unlimited data, so you can connect with them to save your mobile data used of course.

Toilet: We have normal Eco-toilets without separation. So please separate by natural means. All liquids go outside directly in the soil, all solids go in the toilet dumpster and will, after fermentation and composting, enrich the soil as well

Shower: There is a solar shower with 25 liters capacity. Use it for a quick refreshment, but don't wash your hair here, you can do that at the lake. Bring one canister here by bike and you will understand why. :)

Food: We have a fully equipped kitchen and a gas-powered stove with two cooking fields.
Enough green leaves and herbs are growing wildly in the garden. Plus some fruits and veggies. Still, it will take some time till we can fully rely on it, which means we have to get 90% of our food supply from the supermarkets. Dumpster diving is not working here, the dumpsters are all inside the buildings. We, therefore, go shopping once/twice per week and split the bill equally between us. We will meet everyone's needs when shopping. If you´re worried about that -> you will go shopping and decide what to buy. Except for meat, as the project is strictly vegetarian. For your calculation: This summer we usually spent between 5-10€ per person and day on food. (Closer to 5).

Fun: We built a miniramp, we brought great books, we have a full kite equipment, we have a well-flying frisbee, we got the most famous board game off all times! and a quartette about physicists, we´re close to two lakes and the baltic sea PLUS a great vibe in the community. And a lot of stuff in the Upcycling corner, with which you can experiment.

Things which I wanna do this year:

    - Propagate as many fruit and nut trees as possible
    - Mulch the entire area with hay and cow manure
    - Dig a pond, for swimming, water storage, fish, microclimate
    - Clean up the mess inside the buildings that accumulated within the 30 years since they are abandoned
    - Close the 3 little holes of the main roof that is still intact
    - Remove the wooden construction of the broken roof that is non-carrying anymore and close it with any material available, so that the stone walls, don´t get wet after that
    - integrate a zip line from the house to the tallest tree for fun and to jump in the natural pond from there

The stuff is not sorted by priority and it doesn't mean you are supposed to help me with that - I would appreciate it though of course.

From Flo, you can learn anything about politics, permaculture, natural building, cartography, marketing and sports-related stuff (and much more hopefully, e.g. I can teach you basic handpoke tattoo "art"). Plus German.

From Bennet, you can learn about Decentralization with the help of technology and basically all general influence of technology on human life. Plus Korean and Chinese.

From Max, you can learn about architecture, tiny houses, food sharing and communities, as this is not the first project he´s taking part in. Plus Russian.

From others that might be there as well, you can learn as much as you want to digest :)

    What we want to learn:

Basically, all mentioned in the teaching section plus handstand, singing, play any instrument (Flo´s trying ukelele right now), get better at skating, kitesurfing, maybe french, making kombucha, painting, design thinking,..

We are actually curious about everything.

Enjoy your day and do what you want (maybe kitesurf at the baltic sea) and if you´re up for it there will be anything to do to progress with the project.

You don't need to know beforehand that you have the skills that we need here. Everyone can contribute with anything here. The only precondition is that your stay here enriches the community. No matter in which way.

Of course, ff you are looking for a specific experience because you wanna try something in particular, let´s say: "Building a greywater filtration system out of recycled material", then in most cases you can simply do that.

We currently have five self-made (one is inside an old trabant car) and bought tents, with comfy mattresses on pallets. There are also sleeping bags, blankets, pillows, etc. but we don't really keep a list so it's always good to bring that stuff with you if it ain't too much hustle.

The tents can also be moved anywhere else on the property in case you want more privacy. If you come in your van, you can park it in the garden as well of course.

Food cost is shared equally between everyone that's currently staying there. If you arrive on a day where we just stocked up on food, please donate some coins for the next shopping tour. In the future we want to spread abundance from whats is growing around us, but until then we gotta do it the old way (exchanging money for food). We have one common meal per day (usually evenings) made by the community and for the community. For other meals you just go to the kitchen and help yourself. We never buy or cook meat here and try to avoid other animal products as well.

I think if you come here with the mindset of this place being a shared flat, just without rent and on the countryside, with likeminded people living there, that enjoy building miniramps or planting seeds, share their food and all the housework and maybe also their laptop if its the last one that still has power after some rainy days -> you will love it here.

    Algo más...

The project is located in Neu Teterin, 7km from the Hanseatic city of Anklam and close to the german island receiving the most hours of sun per year - Usedom.
There are few buses to Anklam per day, but hitchhiking works well here.
From Anklam, you are in Berlin within 2 hours by train or bus.

Close to the house is a small lake where we can go swimming and the river "Peene" where they also rent Kayaks.
The bigger region is all about water sports like sailing, wind- and kitesurfing.

Check out Google Maps to explore beforehand or come here and use a bike to tour around.

One last thing: If you checked out google maps you´ve seen that the village is very small - so I know my neighbors. They are currently very happy about the fact that some young people wanna start sth new, exciting and with a positive impact for this planet and its inhabitants. What they are afraid of though is that it gets too noisy at night and too much like a festival. Yes, this place is isolated, but still: other people live here and what they think about this project is very important for its success. So please don´t come here if you wanna turn up your speakers volume to the max at 2 am and walking around in the village playing prank calls at the doorbells.

For all others: happy to see you soon :)

90% of the time either Florian or Bennet are living on the project themselves and both work online as well. Both have their own mobile LTE router with unlimited bandwidth and it can be connected to up to 10 people. Pls, let us know before how flexible you are with your calls, working hours, etc. because our energy and internet resources are there and working but we have to plan our usage to make ends meet, so having 10 full-time digital nomads here would not work. 5 flexible part-time nomads would be easy :)
