Hi there, we are Ulrike and Gero (both 52 years old) and we would love to welcome you to our house in the middle of Harz, Germany. We are open minded and interested in other cultures. Three years ago we fell in love with a former rectory near our homeland. Since then, we are rennovating and expanding this house (built in 1750) step by step.
We would like to have some help with that and at the same time teach you new skills and show you our home the Harz. We think we can really profit from a cultural exchange and are opened for your ideas, knowledge and anything you would like to share.
During the day both of us would be working on most days, so you should be able to carry out tasks independently. You would have your own seperated appartment in the house with living room, kitchen and bathroom. And we would provide food (we can also cook and eat together on some days, if you like). We're both not the best at speaking English, but willing to sort out other ways of communication ;) We both speak German as our mother tongue and Ulrike also speaks Spanish.
Please do not hesitate to contact us, if you are thinking about coming here.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

The Harz is a perfect place to escape day to day life for a while. Espiacially if you like hiking and if you enjoy history. There are a variety of forests, streams and mountains as well as monuments and myths also because this was the border area during the cold war. The nearest cities are Blankenburg and Wernigerode, which you can reach by bus.
The House itself also has an interesting history. It used to be a rectory and it's the same house Albert Schneider was born in, who is famous in the region for engineering the train system through the mountains.Ayuda
The projects we would like to tackle are mostly general ones like painting, gardening or simple buildings tasks. We will always give you an induction and as far as possible, we'll be working together with you. So you don't have to bring any special skills.
If you want you can also take our dog for a walk or play with the cat. But that's not mandatory at all. :)Idiomas hablados

The apartment is fully furnished with TV, shower, cupboards, dishes and a fridge. You also have a stable internet connection. You can see the appartment on the pictures.

There are buses driving to the cities nearby and back from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sometimes we can also give you a lift. Wernigerode is a beutiful city with old middle ages buildings such as the castle or the townhall building. You can also visit museums, the cinema or experience a ride in an old steam locomotive.
