A beautiful eco-lodge in Playa Avellanas, Guanacaste, Costa Rica is looking for volunteer(s) to assist with day to day operations and some maintenance of the property for the busy season starting in December.
You will be working with our local staff, however, due to COVID interactions with staff and cultural exchange opportunities may be limited.
The lodge opened in October 2018 and has been hosting very happy guests for the last 2 years. The eco-lodge is managed by a wonderful couple, Paul and Lisa who live on-site and oversee all day-to-day operations.

The traveler will be able to interact with local employees, have an opportunity to improve their Spanish skills, and learn about rural life in Costa Rica. Due to COVID 19, direct interactions with locals may be limited.
Particular tasks may include manning our reception desk, guest services, photography and social media, and other help.
Looking for a Workawayers with basic computer skills and ideally someone who is bilingual, as we are currently seeing mostly Costa Rican guests.
The position is ideal for a couple, who can keep each other company and enjoy the area together. Due to the remote location of the lodge, there are limited opportunities to meet other travellers on a daily basis, especially now during the pandemic.

Workawayer will stay on-site in a private staff room with en suite bathroom at the back of the property.
Our Eco Lodge is located in the quiet neighbourhood of Playa Avellanas, just south of Tamarindo in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Our Eco Lodge offers a perfect setting to relax, unwind, and connect with nature. Our lodge grounds offer a lush green escape and feature an outdoor pool, garden, and patio areas. Our accommodation options include rooms and 2-bedroom villas. All of our rooms/villas have private bathrooms and dining tables.
The lodge has a beautiful pool, breakfast bar, yoga pavilion, games room, and juice bar on site. The area around Playa Avellanas is a quiet, safe, laid back neighbourhood. Lagartillo Beach (Playa Lagartillo) located just 200m from our lodge is loved by locals but is rather unknown to tourists. Aside from a few times a year, the beach is practically deserted, aside from a few local fishermen in the waters at sunset.
Within 2kms radius from the lodge, there are 2 other beautiful beaches - Playa Avellanas and Playa Negra. Avellanas is a great all-around beach, suitable for surfing, swimming and just hanging out. Playa Negra is one of the best surfing beaches in Costa Rica - this area is heaven for surfers!
The nearby town of Playa Negra has a number of yoga studios, a few cafes, and tour operators that provide a variety of activities in the area.
This is a volunteer position ideal for someone who wants to spend a few months living in a beautiful beach destination, enjoying sun, and surf and a laid back "Pura Vida" lifestyle. We are not located in a very busy touristy destination, so there are limited bars, shops and things to do around us aside from the beaches. Of course, you can always rent a car to explore the region on your days off.
