I am father with two small girls 5 and 8 years old, their mother died a few years ago. We need support of family duties. We love outdoor activities in the local scenery. We try to get aerobic training on a weekly basis, hopefully we can do it together with the children.

Meet Swedish Lapland and the world Heritage area of Laponia. Mountain hiking in the last wilderness of Europe. Experiencing the local community life north of the polar circle. Jokkmokk has about 3000 inhabitants and are the place of the famous Sami wintermarket. It is an important village for the Sami culture width a nice museum. Opportunities to spot animals like reindeers, elk, lynx, bear and wolverine.
As I mountain guide I have some gear I can lend (tent, sleeping bag, cooking utilities, rucksack, skis etc). I can help you a lot with planning your own adventure.
You will get a good insight of the life in the reindeer herding community.
Looking after household, cooking are the most important task. Others are keeping the house neat and clean, do the laundry. Assisting with the children together with adults.
You can spend time with the reindeers.
If you are interested we have some renovation jobs if it is the right season.(Carpenter)
Room in house
We need assistance with household work such as to be responsible for cooking and planning the meals, keeping things in order, cleaning and laundry. Most important are your cooking experience, formal education are a big plus. Being experience with kids are important but baby-sitting will only be short moments and mostly with an adult close by. You need to be independent and actively seeking opportunities to see where the help needs to be done.
We would like if you can communicate and do creative activities with children now and then despite language barriers. We are really glad if you speak some Swedish,Norwegian or danish but it is not a demand. In the wintertime there is a lot of fun outdoor activities for you and us.
We live in a house in a small town were the nature are always close by. We try to do much things in nature with family and friends. You are of course welcome to follow us as we like to see you as natural part of our family during your stay. "Our house is your house"
Sometimes maybe you will follow us when we work with our reindeer's or on a trip up in the mountains. We may also travel to other parts of the Barents region and you can follow.
Me and my daughters are really social and like you to have the stay of your life.
We cook healthy (no sugar and processed food, minimize gluten) and eat our own reindeer, fish and berries (here is blueberries, lingonberries and cloudberries in abundance) together with vegetables and healthy fats.
When you are off work you have Europe's last wilderness at your hands. Just go out experience! In the summertime there is midnight sun and you will likely to stay up all night long. In the wintertime you have the immense polar darkness with the sky beautifully decorated with stars as you never seen them before. Some cold nights you will see the Aurora Borealis, the best nature "movie" you can see.
There are trails and tracks for skiing, snowmobile, hiking or mountain biking.
Sometimes during the year you can follow us to reindeer gatherings in the mountains. You will be able to follow us on these adventures.
This stay will be perfect for people fond of wild life and being outdoors. I am glad if you know some Swedish, it's funnier for the kids. But you don't have to.
Cold weather clothes are needed, I can help you evaluate what to bring and what you need to buy for a convenient stay. Some things you may borrow. Normal winter temperatures are -10 to - 25 degrees Celsius but can drop a few day to -40. Summer temperature are between 15-25 degrees.
We will start with one week evaluation time.
You need to stay minimum 4 weeks.
