Help with DIY and gardening in an old house in Saint Claud, France

  Hello, I am a Belgian woman, that has emigrated to France early 2022, where I found a beautiful old aristocratic house with a magnificent garden and a lot of history. I live here with my partner, and we want to restore the grandeur of the house. But we cannot do it all on our own, so we would like to get some help with painting (blinds, metalwork on greenhouse, ...) and also some gardening. We love nature, history, art, and culture. So we would love to meet people from other countries and continents and show them the beauty in this part of the world. The house is situated in one of the most sunny regions of France, with plenty of nature all around.

  The house is situated in one of the most sunny regions of France, with plenty of nature all around. The house is an old aristocratic dwelling of a doctor that has kept its spirit of former centuries. The region is historically and culturally very attractive with lots of very old catholic churches, but also prehistoric monuments. Interesting cities are : Angoulème (world capital of the comic books), Limoges (famous for chinawork) Bordeaux and La Rochelle. My partner and I love books, art, nature, philosophy, and we both speak French, Dutch, English and German.

  We need help with painting all the woodwork of the windows and the blinds as well as painting the iron parts in the old greenhouse. There is also a lot of work to do in the garden such as taking away lots of wild growth of plants, and cutting away old trees.

  You will have your own room in the house, and share the bathroom with other workawayers if there are. You are invited to share our meals, and we would be glad to learn how to prepare the dishes from your homeland. !

  My partner and I are working from home, so we will be available. There is a bus-stop next to the house, for the bus that goes to Angoulème twice a day. From Angoulème you have all possible train connexions. There is also the possibility to rent a car at low charges.
