Description
I'm Wing! A learner and explorer at heart who enjoys different cultures, languages, meeting people and share a good laugh with them. Currently based in East Coast Australia, I'm a community organizer, food & social justice advocate. I have lived in different places in China, Canada, Denmark and Australia. I always seek genuine connections in life, stay curious about the world and like to find potentials to make new homes somewhere on the road. Looking forward to meet you!

- I have a background in food systems and agricultural development, therefore have a great interest in any food and sustainability-related projects! I'm familiar with organic farming practices, as well as experienced with community-based development projects in both rural and urban settings.
- The first time I did workaway was in Peru and Ecuador in 2016, I helped in a lovely hostel in Arequipa and a small hydroponic farm close to Quito. I then participated in a 2-months long work exchange in 2018, which I helped restoring/renovating a traditional house into a community eco hub in a small village in Yunnan, China. It was an amazing experience - I got to connect with the local people and culture, learned to use some small power tools, did some small carpentry projects and gained more hands-on knowledge with permaculture/green building concepts. Following that, I did a permaculture-focused work exchange project in Ontario, Canada in 2020 and an earthship/permaculture garden project in Vancouver Island, Canada in 2021. All in all, work exchanges have given me so much - great opportunities to capture different perspectives on life, met wonderful people around the world and learned lots of new skills ❤️
- I love cooking and have volunteered as a chef/meal planner for a communal kitchen project during university years therefore I'm competent in cooking for large groups.
- Professionally I have worked in food and hospitality, community engagement, volunteer management and communication. The organizational and communication skills I developed can be easily apply to retail, hospitality, start-up business and other related industries.
- Definitely love language teaching - I was a session facilitator in a language exchange program in Vancouver for over 2 years, which I developed skills to facilitate the program and practiced teaching English/Chinese to people at different age groups.
- Doing house chores and babysitting are also things I'll be happy with help with. I worked with children both in school projects and in personal life. I enjoy company of a younger or elder mind, they teach me patience and they see things in a different perspective that I tend to miss :)Age

Despite a little chaotic start - they had a big feast with the previous volunteer the evening before my arrival, so I was welcomed in the morning with a hangover host and then we went hang out at his uncle's pool for most of the day, not exactly what I expected for… read more
