Hi, I'm Simon, 38 years old from the Lake District in Northern England. I love the outdoors, hiking, running, animals, music, football.
I am new to workaway but I have done similar volunteer roles before such as teaching English to children in a remote fishing village in Lombok, Indonesia, or Gardening in Mission Beach, Australia. I grew up on a tiny farm with a handful of cows, sheep, goats, chickens, dogs and cats.
I have a relaxed view to life but at the same time I enjoy working hard with all kinds of laboring jobs, I enjoy the challenge and the physical exercise.
I was made redundant from my boring London office job 3 years ago (a positive life change) and since then I have been developing a couple of properties to rent out and also helping my dad to convert a rural barn for him to live in. For the last few months I have also been working part time as a landscape gardener.
I have traveled extensively throughout my adult life and I have probably been on the road for more than 3 years in total, Asia, South America, America, Africa, Australasia etc. I usually travel alone which allows a lot more freedom and creates more opportunities for meeting new people.
I am open to any type of workaway as you never know what new experiences will come along :-)

Ha I'm not really sure what to say here, I've never been good at selling myself :-)
I worked in accounts for 10 years but the last 3 years I've spent developing my own properties for the rental market. I do most of the maintenance jobs for the properties but I get professionals in for the electrics etc.
I've done various laboring jobs, including landscape gardening recently.
I'm a great people person and get along with almost everyone.
