Hi,
I,m Scott
I, m 52 years old originally from Perthshire, Scotland.
Traveled/backpacked lots and worked a variety of jobs throughout traveling.
Happy with a simple lifestyle.
Lived/worked in the Canary Isles for 10 years learned Spanish.
Good experience with chainsaw, drystone walling, some construction /joinery, Hospitality, (golf Pro, teaching, caddy) The last volunteer works include feeding cows, pigs, chickens etc on a farm, building stone steps, cutting firewood, repairing bike trails, making wood signs, general DIY.I'm always ready and willing to try new things and love work away, help X as a way to travel and experience life

some dry-stone work, I, ve repaired and built a few walls, built steps, some landscaping, loads of chainsaw work, tourism, teaching, bit of guitar busking/singing pretty awful,was looking after Mum during Lockdown and started a Veggie Garden(planted too much lettuce!), fluent in Spanish, tried a few things over the years through travel so might remember when I see it.😊

I love the outdoors.
The goal is to share as much knowledge as possible, learning various methods of construction with wood, stone, etc
Any skills pertaining to off-grid, permaculture, growing food for self-sufficiency I,m keen to learn.
Carved Spoons ,made chopping boards ,processed wood from a tree to making basic tables. Used most of joinery tools,saws .plainers ,thicknesers etc
Like to laugh, read, write, watch movies, music, cook,(one day I,ll try a recipe book) walk, cycle, stay in the present, love Nature.
Backpacked extensively Aus NZ, India, SE Asia, Europe.
Cycled a bit through Europe
Planted trees all around the highlands 20 years ago now.
Always wanting to know more survival skills, foraging, etc (tried with books but...??.)
Fancy trying theatre, maybe getting involved in some short film productions,
I have been busking guitar(3 chord wonder) and singing, during my travel. loads of wild camping.
I would like to keep learning more dry stone building so happy to fix walls to keep my hand in, love to learn more hands-on experience with any construction, up-cycling, etc.
I spent years working as a golf club professional ending up teaching golf abroad then caddying on the Asia Pro tour, Gleneagles, Florida, Dornoch.
Volunteered in some organic gardens in the Canary Isles, lived in caves we made there too.
Starting my journey again on workaway this year 2023
I have a few half-written stories so be good to finish them
Maybe one day become a host myself!
