Hi! I originally came to Japan with the intention of going home to the US in April but due to the current health crisis I decided to stay in Japan for a few more months. I was going to attend culinary school in Ireland on an organic farm called Ballymaloe but alas that was postponed too. I came to visit family, intern at an Alice Water’s offshoot called The Blind Donkey in Tokyo, visit farms and improve my Japanese. I have had a wonderful time so far. I am interested in furthering my knowledge of Japanese foods and culture. I am ultimately looking to acquire as many skills to simply live a good life. Perhaps start a homestead one day..
I have been working on urban farms for about three years growing produce and flowers. I am passionate about cooking. I am also a certified English instructor. I could also do Japanese to English translation. I love preserving food too!
I love meeting new people and talking about a vast range of topics.
