Hi there!
my name is Marie, I am turning 23 soon and I am from Germany. I have lived and studied in Amsterdam for the past 3 years and have recently finished my Bachelor`s in Psychology. I currently have some time off before starting my master`s and would like to try a new workaway somewhere in Europe again ! I am open to different types of work and excited to learn from and work with kind and friendly hosts. I have already done a few workaways during my gap year after high school and I`m looking forward to a new adventure and challenge again! I would describe myself as a friendly, relatively quiet but not shy person, a good listener, empathetic and helpful person. I love to spend my time reading, swimming, photographing, doing yoga and spending time in nature.
I also love to cook and try out new vegetarian or vegan recipes.

I think workaway is such a wonderful way of travelling because you get to know another culture by becoming part of a family/community, learning from their knowledge and giving something back to them. My first workaway experience was in England where I worked on an arts project, met wonderful people and learned a new skill, building lanterns!
I would love to help create something, like art or constructions etc., as I always find that very rewarding! I would be interested to work in art projects, hostel/hotel jobs,, sustainable projects, language projects, teaching etc. I would also be able to teach German or English if anyone would be interested in that ! But I am always open for different tasks and challenges:)
I am mostly looking for a new cultural experience, working on an interesting project and having a good time while meeting new people !

For the last 2 years I have been working as a receptionist at a Gym where my main tasks were greeting/interacting with customers and doing paperwork. When I was younger I was a tutor for french and english and I have done baby & dog sitting before.
I have also worked as a waitress and would say that I have good hospitality & teaching skills.
I love doing any kinds of DIY projects and being creative in decorating, renovating and cooking .
For my first Workaway I worked on an art project in England, I love being creative and using my hands and my mind at the same time !
Apart from that I can only say that I am always willing to learn new things and I always give my best for every new task!

What else ...

I am passionate about learning about how to improve people`s lives, which is also why I am studying Psychology! I am really interested in Yoga, meditation, reconnecting with nature, arts and mindfulness etc. and their benefits on people`s well-being. One of the most fascinating things for me is learning about the brain, how it controls everything we do and how what we do on a daily basis changes our brains! I also care a lot about animals and the climate and would love to support sustainability/animal welfare projects, too!
