Hi! I’m Lauren. 28 years old and I am British but have lived in the south of Ireland pretty much all my life.
My goal at the moment is to work in a bio diversity/permaculture/self sustainable environment. I would also love to work closely with an artist or a person with traditional skills. Gaining experience in the arts, a self sustainable life, nature and life skills. Spirituality and working with animals is a bonus.

I spent 5 months traveling in Nepal, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Cambodia in 2016/2017. And Thailand and Laos in the beginning of 2018.
I ventured across to central and South America visiting Cuba, Costa Rica and Colombia at the beginning of 2020.
I have since returned home to Ireland so I’m hoping to discover workaway opportunities that can expand my skills, abilities and interests in the meantime until I start my dream of buying a camper van and traveling around Europe. Which I am hoping to begin in summer of 2023.
Would be great to meet up with fellow travellers along the way and work with workaway in different locations. I have no set plans or locations so am open to suggestions and offers.

Any free time I have back home for me is spent outdoors and being adventurous. I’m lucky to live near a huge national park which gives me the opportunity to do the things I love like hiking, cycling, kayaking and photography.
My main motivation for work is to expand my skills and discover new interests. It’s great to learn something I ordinarily wouldn’t have had the opportunity to experience. I am hard working in what I do as I like the job to be done to the best that I can do.
In the future I would love to study in the lines of permaculture/bio diversity so gaining experience in gardening, renewable energy, self sustainability etc. would be perfect. It is my goal to live a self sustainable life and have a career in working towards helping the environment.
I’m interested in making my own products. I’d love to take away various skills and techniques. I have gotten as far as making my own chemical free toothpaste and jewellery for family members. Got to start somewhere eh!
I am really fond of cooking and baking. Learning new skills and recipes to further my cooking would be fantastic. I have been Vegetarian since I was born and recently in the process of going Vegan.
I am a massive animal lover of all kinds. So being around and working with animals is a plus for me!

For 2 years I worked in a bar/nightclub in my hometown. I adored the people I worked with and the fast paced busy work. It was a great opportunity to meet people from all round the world and hear their travel stories! I have worked in hospitality for 8 years. Most recently in the past year’s have been Manager in a bar/restaurant which I thoroughly enjoyed.
In my current job I have been behind the bar making cocktails etc, on the floor waitressing and have really enjoyed being in the kitchen cooking and delighting on the pass.
Animals have always been a big part of my life growing up in a household that was more like a zoo! I have had numerous jobs working with animals in a Pet Farm with domestic and exotic animals, a Riding Stables and in a Veterinary Clinic.
I studied Social Studies for a year in Ireland. Dabbling into psychology, care work, business studies and childcare was very interesting. I also got the opportunity to work in a crèche, primary school and youth Centre during this time. A year later I ventured into Art and Design (Photography, Printing, Drawing, Paiting, Ceramics, Textiles) In University which is another big passion of mine. I love being being creative especially with clay. On my previous travels I enjoyed helping out with creating signs/menus/advertising in some of the hostels I stayed at.

I spent years as a child learning horse riding and as a teenager worked at a riding stables as work experience.
