Description

I am 48 years old have 3 grown up children and 2 grandchildren. I have never had much opportunity to travel and would be very keen to explore the world and to use whatever skills I have to do something meaningful.

At the moment, I would only be able to commit to 1 week or fortnight at the most as I work full time. I am the Programme Director for a community arts development project in Norfolk, UK.

My own practice in the past has been in the visual arts, with a real focus on community projects, where I take on more of a facilitator role. I would be keen to return to this and help others explore their creativity.

Lately I have been costume making for figure skaters, performers and stilt-walkers, but am always up for a creative challenge! In the past I have held workshops in mosaics, costume-making (out of recycled materials), junk sculpture, gingerbread houses, weaving, knitting and many more!

I am also very active and enjoy physical activity - I am currently attending a circus school to do aerial hoop workshops and also enjoy kayaking and paddleboarding.

Other interests include: gardening / permaculture / environmental issues and sustainability.

I completed a TEFL course a few years ago and am now trying to learn a bit of Spanish.

What else ...

I currently run a community art project in some deprived communities in Norfolk, UK. This job includes everything from organising and event managing creative workshops to putting on community events and small festivals. The role also includes a LOT of admin, from writing funding applications, managing social media accounts, producing reports and evaluation of the project.

I love all things circus and creative and currently take classes in aerial hoop at a local circus school and do stilt-walking walkabout at events.

I can sew a bit - my daughter is a figure skating coach and have always made her competition costumes as well as outfits for stilt walkers and other performers, but only as a hobby!
