  • More details about your skills

I've previously done several workaways and have always really enjoyed the experience. Most recently these were with the Erraid community (mostly splitting firewood, cooking, fencing, mowing and strimming, planting vegetables, decorating), and gardening at the Manjushri meditation centre in Ulverston. A few years back I did a stint on a croft on Eigg (fencing, checking on sheep, basic boat maintenance), and an olive grove in Italy (pruning olive trees, path building).

Above all I'm curious about living in wild places and keen to learn and contribute.

I've experience gardening on my parents vegetable plot and working for my dad's gardening business (mainly hedge trimming, tree pruning, planting borders, mowing, erecting fencing).

I've also quite a lot of experience logging (using a chainsaw to fell and process trees, splitting logs by axe and electric splitter, and planting trees - but I don't have a chainsaw license).

I've some maintenance experience, especially decorating and basic DIY jobs.

I'm a pretty good cook having I've worked as a junior chef in 2 restaurants.

I'm currently living on Mull and have been working doing stock and deer fencing, tree planting, a little dry-stone walling and some days in a sawmill. I have also been volunteering on the croft I've been living on - mostly repairing tracks, digging drainage ditches, gardening, building a log store and helping build a chicken hutch.
