  • Description

Howdy, I'm Félix, I was born and raised in Angers, France, i'm the youngest of four kids.

I grew up playing Ice Hockey and am now playing pro hockey back in Roanne, France.

I studied carpentry for a couple of years in France and got to work as a builder in New Zealand for months.

In 2022 I trained to be a welder for several months. I'm now employed as a welder since.

I've also worked as a roofer in France and worked a couple of years building firetrucks.

I'd love to learn more about the construction of sailboats.

I'm a very calm and simple trustworthy guy, I'm always full of energy and looking for stuff to do. I have a great passion for music and sports and I'm always happy to challenge my beliefs by opening my eyes to new ways of living.

Playing competitive sport for so long has made me a hard working and very dedicated fellow, i've got a strong will and am always in great physical shape. I've managed to work full time jobs at the same time as playing hockey every day of every week for several years so i'm not afraid of getting busy. I love travelling and learning new things whether it's a new language, a new skill or even random knowledge or other peoples life stories. Workaway seems like a very smart and fun way to get to meet lovely folks, their culture and stay busy while travelling.

Sailing has had a big place in my life, I sailed around the Mediterranean for every summer growing up. (mostly Croatia, Corsica, Greece and Turkey)
I would love to sail accross the Atlantic in a near future.

I've done a fair share of travelling inside of Europe, had two trips to North America, lived for a while in New Zealand and most recently stayed and worked in Göteborg, Sweden for months where I was also playing hockey until the Covid crisis kinda pushed me back to France.

I have had two workaway stays so far, both of which turned out to be very pleasant.

I'll be free to get a the move again from early May to mid August 2024, as soon as our Hockey season ends.

  • More details about your skills

After a regular high school course, I went on to have an apprenticeship in Wood Carpentry in my hometown of Angers, after which I found a two year technician course focused on wood construction to get deeper into that area.
I spent most of my time in New Zealand working one big construction site as a builder.

I've also worked in landscaping several times between hockey seasons fixing gardens whether it's maintenance or creating from scratch, built several decks in the process. I spent a couple of months doing some roofing in Roanne, France where I also worked for a company building firetrucks called "Gimaex".

In Göteborg, I worked in exhibition halls, fixing the stands and laying carpets down for the local fairs.
I worked couple months in early 2022 in Roanne fixing heat and cold insulation on pipes.

Since the fall of 2022 I have been training to be a welder. I went to welding school for several months, then started on an actual work position.

My skillset is pretty wide, I'm not a master in any perticular field but I have a bit of experience in a whole lot of different areas and am really looking forward to learning more about anything really.
