I am a PhD student researching zero-carbon building materials. I am really interested in the productive landscapes and agro-ecological systems which surround material production.

Description

Hello ! I am from Glasgow in Scotland. I am studying Engineering and Architecture at Glasgow School or Art. In my free time I enjoying going to the Scottish mountains, learning new crafts skills, doing woodwork ( making architectural models) and also I collect and play records, as well as making music with my friends. I have a radio show too!

I am travelling to Japan to learn about the culture, in particular the traditional construction methods and crafts (textiles/carpentry). I am also interested in the nature, music, food and most importantly people which curate the culture.

I have done two workaways before, one in Greece and the other in Spain. Both involved helping out around the house, gardening, carpentery and making art! I really enjoyed spending time with the host whilst also being independent.

I’d love to spend some time this winter learning together with a host family / person and teaching each other new skills and exchanging culture !
