My name is Ari and I was born and raised in NYC. I just graduated from college and am looking to continue my education through experience. I have always loved getting away from the city to explore other places in the world. I am interested in doing my part to make to help out in the world and acquire as many skills and opportunities along the way.

I'm looking for experiences that will not only benefit myself but help others, wherever that may take me. My passions lie in agroecology and food justice/sovereignty, but I also love education and most outdoor (& can appreciate indoor) work.

I am an avid forager and gardener, I love being outside and crafting/cooking with my finds.
The simple and creative things are what I enjoy most: reading a book, spending time outside, cooking & baking, painting, embroidering, herbalism, and botanical dyes.

I have previous experience working on farms and doing freelance gardening & landscaping for friends, family, and neighbors. I've worked on 5 farms, along the East coast and Croatia, and would say I'm fairly skilled at the labor, but have lots of room for growth.

I also work as a teacher at a Botanic Garden and at a public school teaching botany, gardening, and environmental science. I have several years of experience working with children and really enjoy the work. I absolutely love working with children and would ideally combine my passion for food systems, agriculture/gardening, and youth environmental education in the future.

In my workaway relationships, I find my most valuable skills to be direct communication, adaptability, open-mindedness, and determination.

I want to make the world a better place, starting with our soil and environment, but learn everything in between and beyond. This is mostly to say, I'm open to almost anything :) As long as there is outdoor space to access nearby I am happy!
