Hello, I am Simeon!
I am a carpenter/cabinet maker from Germany and finished my apprenticeship last summer. I came to Japan because I'm fascinated by Japanese carpentry and architecture. After finishing a one month course about traditional Japanese Woodworking, I want to work as a carpenter here.
Finding work at Japanese companies turns out to be quite difficult, since I don't speak Japanese 😅 Still, I managed to work with a cabinet maker in Karuizawa for 1,5 month.

Apart from woodworking I love making music (guitar, singing and a bit of piano) and I really like to cook.
Overall I am a very creative person, who likes hands-on work and is not afraid to get dirty ;) I am not a loud person, but I enjoy company and good conversations! Still, I am very independent and don't need too much attention (during work or free time)

I am a trained carpenter, mainly focused on furniture building, restoration and building and mounting doors. My apprenticeship took 3 years and afterwards I stayed in the company for half a year. Even though I don't have much experience in construction, I'm interested in learning more about it and i would still be a big help since I am professionally trained on all the Powertools.
During school I worked as a caretaker for a Multi-Party-House and cared for the garden for 2 years.
I'm also prepared for the rare case if playing and producing music is needed ^^
I speak German, English, a little bit of French and I want to learn Japanese, but I isn't going well yet.
